Metal Woman

Kagura made it his mission to slowly make his way to Gnarod to find the Warden, training all the while. Even after reaching the outskirts of the city, Kagura refused to enter. He remained on the outside. He spent his time brawling with the wildlife during the day and practicing with his powers over darkness at night. He trained for nearly a year before entering the city. Kagura approached a small food truck for some properly cooked food.

Vendor: Hey there young man! You look like you could use a good meal!

Kagura: Yes, but I don't have any money. If I could, I could do some manure labor for you.

  Vendor: Excuse me?

?: Its manual labor. He can get a meal on me.

Kagura turned to see a small female with shiny, silver hair. The woman was dressed in a camouflage patterned tank top with a military coat draped over her shoulders like a cape. She also wore combat boost and camouflage print pants as well. She was the first person Kagura saw with such odd clothing.

  Kagura: Thank you.

?: You can thank me by taking a shower someday in the next week.

Kagura: Oh? *sniff* Ah yeah, I should do something about that.

?: Yeah, you do that. I got to go, enjoy the food.

  Kagura: Right, thanks again.

Kagura sat at a table to enjoy the food the girl paid for before continuing his pursuit of the Warden. Taking her words into account, he went into a hotel and asked if he could use a shower. Kagura emerged from the hotel feeling fresh and ready to fight. He snuck around the city for days on end with not a sign of the Warden. Kagura very nearly turned back on his journey to pursue the men who gave him this location.

Before he gave up, Kagura overheard a strange conversation. Two men were whispering and staring at him intently. Kagura decided to walk away slowly, and the men slowly followed. They kept their distance, but Kagura could tell they were discreetly following him. He turned a corner down an alley and laid down, pretending to sleep. As he predicted, the men slowly approached him and tied his limbs together. As the men carried him off, Kagura tried his best not to laugh at them. They carried him to a small post office on the edge of town. Kagura realized then that the people in league with the Warden he knew were integrated well into society. The inside of the building looked normal enough, but every employee was a member of the Futurists. They all cheered that one of the three 'targets' were captured. Kagura was taken to be handed over to the Warden.

Warden: You caught one? How did you manage that?

?: Well sir, we followed him to an alleyway and caught him sleeping. We tied him up and brought him here.

Warden: You fools! You can't bind him with simple ropes!

  Kagura: He's right you know.

Kagura ripped through his binds as if they were made of paper. They two kidnappers tried to physically restrain him, but were hilariously helpless against his might. Kagura threw the two men aside with ease, not taking his eyes off of the Warden.

Kagura: You're going to pay for what you did to Ragnar!

If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation.

Warden: Is that so? I won't hold back on you this time kid.

Kagura placed his hand on the ground, covering the entire room with his shadows.

Kagura: Ok, now to finish it.

Kagura slowly shrank the size of the shadow room until it only covered the Warden. He summoned his hammer and went to strike the shadow mummy he created. Before he could connect, the Warden blasted out of his confinement.

Warden: You have grown to be pretty scary young man. I'm almost intimidated.

Kagura: What the hell? You have powers too?

Warden: Well if course I do. You think they would leave a regular human in charge of potential super beings like yourself? Too bad for you especially...

The Warden pointed a finger forward, blasting Kagura with a thin beam of light. The beam was so fast that Kagura could barely react before his shoulder was pierced.

Warden: My power seems to hold the advantage here.

Kagura was blasted out of the building by a much larger blast. The Warden wanted to lead the fight away from the city to hide his involvement. His light based attacks kept Kagura on the defensive. The Warden used his light beam to cut down all off the nearby trees to give Kagura less cover to hide behind. Feeling annoyed at his own weakness, Kagura barreled directly at the Warden. He was blasted a few times but managed to land a critical strike with his hammer.

Warden: You really have grown so much in such a short time. Last chance kid, join me or die.

  Kagura: Go fuck yourself.

  Warden: So be it.

The Warden charged a massive light blast and fired it, aiming right between Kagura's eyes. Kagura didn't have time to dodge and could only watch as the beam was deflected by a large metal spire that erupted from the ground.

?: Damn civilians. What the hell are you waiting for? Run!

Kagura was too confused to hear the words of his savior. It was the same military girl he had met prior.

?: I'll bring this criminal to justice, you get to safety!

Kagura: What? No way, I came here to kick his ass!

?: This is official military business, get in my way and I'll arrest you.

The girl recklessly ran straight towards the Warden.

  Kagura: No, look out!

The Warden fired another blast of light at the girl. He and Kagura were both shocked when the girl simply blocked the beam with her hand. Staying up close to the Warden, she made him realize that she was far more trained than Kagura was. The Warden had to utilize more of his skills and tricks to keep her at bay.

His speed was far too great for her to land any solid punches. One punch the Warden dodged led her fist into the side of a large rock. Her fist went into the rock cleanly, cutting right into it. What shocked everyone was when she lifted the rock with her embedded arm and swung it around at the Warden. It was then that Kagura got a similar feeling from her that he did from Ragnar. For the first time in a long time, he felt like he had found someone physically stronger than himself.

The Warden, sensing that his power was largely ineffective against the metal user, decided to utilize his weaponry. His power over light allowed him to supercharge any object that could withstand his power. He removed a small dagger from his pocket and channeled his energy through it. He used his light to blind the girl and went in for the kill. Kagura dove over her, moving her out of the way and getting cut himself.

?: What the hell are you doing?

  Kagura: That blade isn't normal.

?: I'm tough enough to take care of myself.

Kagura: Then you won't mind the help.

Kagura reached out his help to help her up and she reluctantly accepted.

Kagura: Nice to meet you, I'm Kagura. So what kind of powers do you have?

Tsubaki: Tsubaki(Sue+bah+key), and I can control metal.

Kagura: Metal? That's pretty cool, I can use-

Tsubaki: Darkness, I know. I read your file.

Kagura: I have a file? That's so cool!

Tsubaki: We can talk about this later, look out!

The Warden coated the battlefield in explosions caused by his charged light blasts. The pair of warriors decided to close the distance on him. As they began to brawl, the Warden used blasts and his knife to keep them back. His raw speed and skill was more than a match for the duo to handle. The Warden struck them both down and walked forward to finish the job.

Tsubaki: Shit! We just need two more minutes!

  Kagura: What do you mean?

  Warden: Time to die!

Tsubaki stood back up and guarded Kagura's downed body. The Warden tried to blast her directly, but his beam was reflected off of her body.

  Kagura: What the hell?

Tsubaki turned her body completely into metal and stood strong to protect Kagura.

Warden: Shit! You mean to tell me that this child has already Awakened?

Tsubaki: Yep, and you thought that you held the advantage here.
