Hell on Earth

In the morning, Yona tried washing her face in the bathroom, but she was struggling. Raioten remained stuck to her like a magnet. She let him rest up, attached to her waist, until she got into the cafeteria.

Yona: Alrighty little Blue, time to wake up!

When Raioten woke up and saw where he was, he hopped down from her waistline, blushing.

Yona: Aww! Your face is so adorable! C'mon, let's get some food!

Yona led Raioten to grab some of the scrap food that was left for them. The food was barely edible, but Yona assured Raioten that it was necessary to get accustomed to the food for his survival. Old, half eaten fruits and vegetables adorned their plates.

After their breakfast, Yona took Raioten into the large, nigh empty room called the 'training hall' by the prisoners on the lower floor. The room was filled with large metal objects to be used as improvised weights. It also had a few steel beams bolted to the walls as makeshift punching bags. Yona began teaching Raioten how to take a proper fighting stance. Raioten seemed unwilling to even try striking Yona.

Yona: C'mon little Blue, you're not going to hurt me I promise!

Even with her reassurance, Raioten remained timid. On security cameras, the Warden watched the two of them.

Warden: The fire you had in your eyes, where has it gone?

After a few hours of demonstrating her signature Sikaran(an art almost entirely dedicated to kicking) fighting style, Yona decided to switch up her approach. Raioten sat patiently watching each and every move Yona made but remained simply a spectator. Yona grabbed an old metal pole from a pile in the room. Raioten's tilted his head in intrigue.

Yona: My master taught me how to fight with a staff when I was about your age, so I'll show you.

As Yona began spinning the pole rapidly, the wind blew Raioten back to the wall behind him. His eyes grew wide with excitement watching Yona's movements. Her power with the staff created winds more powerful than a tornado, eventually lifting up and swirling around Raioten as well as all of the equipment in the room. Seeing his blue hair fluttering around her, Yona immediately stopped and caught him.

Yona: I'm so sorry Blue! I get a little carried away when I use a staff. Would you like to try?

Raioten pulled his hand back from the staff, opting to simply watch. The Warden walked into the room.

Warden: Son Yona, I would like a word with the young man.

Yona: I told you never to call me that.

Warden: Right right. Mrs. Ishi, your little friend is coming with me now.

  Yona: What for?

  Warden: None of your business.

Reluctantly, Yona allowed Raioten to be taken by the Warden, who took the boy into his private room. The room was far nicer than any other Raioten had seen in the tower. As he was taking in the array of pretty colors and expensive furniture, the Warden kicked him in the back of the head. Writhing in pain from the strike, Raioten's eyes grew watery.

Warden: Where's that fire boy? Show me!

The Warden lashed out, attacking Raioten brutally. He was a man who enjoyed making prisoners scream, and was infuriated when Raioten didn't make a sound. The Warden lifted Raioten by the throat and caught a glimpse of his eyes. The sight of Raioten's eyes screaming out in pain and rage made the Warden positively thrilled.

Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings.

Warden: Yes! This is even better than screaming!

He slammed Raioten through his dresser. Raioten remained silent, his eyes locked on the Warden's own.

Warden: I absolutely love those big beautiful blue eyes of yours! They scream louder than anyone before you! I love it!

The Warden continued his brutal assault on Raioten. He knocked the boy over and left him laying down, his face in a pool of his own blood.

Warden: Hmm. It seems the fun might be over already, how disappointing.

Raioten began to struggle on his way to his feet. The Warden took note of Raioten's eyes, practically roaring at him with rage. The Warden cracked a crooked smile.

  Warden: Those eyes! Come on!

Raioten ran forward, roaring at the Warden. At the same time, Yona was pacing back and forth in her cell. She was desperately waiting for Raioten to return. The ahoge on her head twitched, and she turned to see Raioten climbing into bed.

Yona: Blue dear, are you alright?

Raioten tried to look away from Yona to hide his brutally injured face and body. When she turned him over, she saw his face. He own face twisted with rage, causing Raioten to tremble. Just when she looks like she's about to pop, Yona wraps Raioten in a warm hug. She began to cry.

Yona: I'm so sorry. I couldn't protect you.

As she held Raioten close, the Warden walked into their room.

Warden: You can keep coddling him all you want to, it wont help him.

Yona shot him a glare of murderous intent.

Warden: You can act like I'm wrong all you want. He needs to learn to fight the hard way.

Yona: He's a child! *walking up to him* You can't treat him like a soldier!

Warden: That boy will be a warrior whether you like it or not!

The Warden grabs Yona by her shirt but immediately stops. Yona flinched at his grasp, but noticed that the Warden's eyes were wide. He began to sweat profusely. His hand was shaking like crazy as he put Yona back on the ground. The adults turned their heads to see Raioten growling at the Warden. The Warden words were stuck in his throat as Raioten's intimidating aura consumed him.

Warden: *clearing his throat* So, now you see my point. Continue with his training, but I will continue his teachings my way.

The Warden, attempting to leave with his pride intact, simply walked away. Yona looked back to Raioten, who's eyes had gone back to being large and round.

Yona: I'm going to make sure you get out of here little Blue.

For the next few days, Raioten's time was split between training with Yona and fighting with the Warden. His days were intense and brutal. Yona changed from a sweet tutor to a strict one. She made Raioten practice with a staff-like weapon. The Warden sent down an armed guard to escort Raioten one morning. He was the only prisoner who still didn't meet qualifications, so he had to be put through examinations. Just like when he first arrived, Raioten was strapped to a table and electrocuted.

The Warden kept a close eye on Raioten's vital signs, careful not to kill him by accident. He was determined on unlocking Raioten's true strength and made plans to 'examine' Raioten twice a week. One day, as Raioten was waking up, Yona was called into the Ring. She was told to bring Raioten along as a spectator. The Warden hoped that watching her in the Ring might motivate him in some way. He went off to get the other prisoner set to face Yona. Yona carried Raioten on her back into the central portion of the floor. She was greeted by a dangerous looking man in the other side. Yona sat down Raioten and gave him a pat on the head.

Yona: You stay here and keep your eyes closed okay little Blue?

Raioten nodded, but had no intention of keeping his eyes closed. He soon wished that he had listened. The man drew a knife and ran at Yona with deadly intent. She dodged his blade and delivered a perfect high kick, her shin shattering the side of his skull. Raioten gasped as the man rolled on the ground in agony. He felt a strange sensation radiating from Yona. His entire body was telling him to run away. Yona lifted her heel straight above her head and whispered to the man on the ground.

Yona: I'm so sorry, but nobody is stopping me from getting out of here.

She slammed her foot down completely smashing the man's skull.

After the cracking pop sound, the room was silent. Yona turned to Raioten, who was pretending to have kept his eyes shut.

Yona: Time to go back little Blue! Did'ja miss me?

Raioten took Yona's hand with a big smile. As they walked back to their cell, he couldn't keep his eyes off of her red foot that was stained with blood. He also couldn't ignore the odd feeling of fear he got from her before, or its sudden disappearance.

As Yona went off to take a shower, Raioten was trying to relax on the bed. He couldn't understand everything that happened that day, and wasn't sure that he wanted too. Yona came out of the shower and joined Raioten in their bed. Even though he didn't speak at all, Yona could tell immediately they he had seen her match. When he shuddered at her touch, she felt her heart tighten in her chest. For the first time, Raioten didn't cling to her in his sleep.
