Chapter 157 – Migration (Part 2)

It wouldn't be difficult to use a few tricks to make Aura submit. After all, the butterfly had some serious character fws.

Aura was very zy and liked treasures. In addition to those two character traits, Aura valued his reputation the most.

To sum it up in one sentence, those who wanted to save face would face a life of suffering.

For example, after System showed him the movie "Funny Butterfly," Aura was depressed for more than ten days before slowly coming out of his funk.

Of course, System didn't intend to repeat that trick and py the short film again. After all, the movie's lethality to the butterfly was really too great.

If the butterfly's heart ended up being so severely damaged that he became depressed again, System estimated that his colony's migration pn would be postponed again.

System and Bck arranged a script, and their acting would be very simple. It would basically just consist of some provocation.

As long as Aura didn't cooperate, he and Bck would act according to the script to provoke Aura, who wanted to save face, to migrate to the Abyss along with the rest of the colony.

If that Aura ended up not liking the pce once they arrived, System would have Ying teleport the butterfly back.

However, to System's surprise, Aura didn't oppose System's idea of migrating to the Abyss at all. However, he did happily put forth some conditions.

As it turned out, Aura wasn't satisfied with the two boxes of gold and treasures that he'd brought back from the temple treasury. He still wanted to bring even more treasure back.

Because the Shadow Key ring functioned by teleporting creatures, and any objects those creatures carried would also be transmitted along with them, if Aura went to the temple to move the treasure by himself, it would obviously be impossible for System's ant subjects to help him move the treasure.

But Aura himself was a butterfly who wanted to save face, so it was clearly impossible for him to take the initiative to ask System to help.

In fact, Aura had recently been trying to think of a way to use Bck and Shava to implement a pn to get System to send over some ants to help bring back more treasures.

This time, System's proposal to go to the Abyss provided Aura with a great opportunity. He wanted to use ants to carry treasure back from the treasury, and System also wanted the ants to use the demipne for migration. This was a chance to kill two birds with one stone.

As for what kind of dangers were present in the Abyss, Aura didn't really care. It didn't matter to him whether the environment there was good or not. As long as there were gold coins around, anywhere would be his paradise.

There was also another reason for Aura agreeing to go to the Abyss.

It wasn't because of System, but because of Shava.

Although Aura and Shava's retionship had started off badly due to their fights over treasure, their retionship had gradually improved. It could be said that there would be no friendship without fighting.

But the deeper reason was that Aura and Shava shared a hobby.

Among the many insects that regarded money as dirt, finding a fellow insect that liked treasures was like a breath of fresh air.

Although Aura had been relieved at first when he'd learned that the colony's ants wouldn't steal his treasures, he had eventually realized that the ants regarded his treasures as ordinary stones. Aura couldn't help but become lost at that time.

However, before long, Aura and Shava had established a like-minded friendship and started pying with their treasures together from time to time.

  ...

After settling everything with Aura, System talked to Bck about what she needed to pay attention to when she went to the Temple of Shadows. He especially warned her not to touch the statue of Rafael in the main hall.

He then moved to the queen's chamber and expined the matter to Queen Linda. He also got an update on how many slimes she was capable of controlling at once, since he had decided to teleport some slimes to the Temple of Shadows for his ant subjects to eat while in the demipne.

After using mental messages to send video data reted to the temple and giving some precautions, he used the remaining time to deal with some trivial matters, as some work would probably be difficult to continue after he went to the Abyss.

For example, the research on the demonic insect nest and the idea of flying ants that he hadn't figured out before.

For his experiments, System captured several of the spider demons and mantis demons that had been appearing more frequently recently.

Unfortunately, even after being irrigated with demon blood and absorbing demon flesh, his demonic insect nest didn't transform from a pnt into an animal.

For his next attempt, System captured more than a dozen more spider demons and made them devour each other, resulting in the survivor transforming into a 1.8-meter-tall insect demon. He had Shava cut off the insect demon's limbs, then tried getting it to control the demonic insect nest, but it was still useless.

In the end, he decided to take some meat from his demonic insect nest to the Abyss for further cultivation.

System's search for winged ants also made no progress. Although it was now early spring in the Warren Pins, it wasn't yet time for the recently born ants capable of reproduction to fly out of the nest in search of a mate.

Also, because centipede demons and spider demons had appeared in the Warren Pins, there were fewer ant nests than there used to be. Most of the ant nests System found had already been invaded by demons, and the ants, along with their stored food, had been devoured.

Even after searching with Excavator for more than ten days, he didn't find a single ant with wings.

He did manage to capture four queen ants of different species, however. These four queens had already mated. As long as they didn't die unexpectedly, they should be able to produce male or female ants with wings for him to study after reaching the Abyss.

  ...

More than thirty days passed quickly.

Aura, who was well prepared, teleported Queen Linda, Bck, hundreds of ant subjects, and more than a hundred ants currently undergoing their second pupation to the temple.

Of course, a lot of food, a few slimes, and four boxes of treasures from Aura and Shava were also going to the temple along with System's ant subjects.

Even though there were a hundred times more treasures in the temple treasury than in these four boxes, Aura and Shava were unwilling to give up any of their precious things.

In desperation, System could only reduce some of the materials he'd prepared in advance in order to make room for the treasures.

He didn't dey. After all of his ant subjects had been sent to the demipne with the ring, System set off with the other five members of the party.

Among the six members, aside from Shava and Excavator, the other four all had wings and could fly. In order to speed up the team's progress, System asked Meatball to carry Shava and Excavator due to his strong load-bearing capacity.

Meatball didn't disappoint him. Even with Shava and Excavator on his back, flying was still very easy for him.

What surprised System the most was Aura.

As everyone knows, the flight speed of butterflies was generally slow. However, Aura wasn't like normal butterflies; his flight speed was surprisingly fast.

It seemed like Aura was just fpping his wings slowly, but he could always easily fly a very long distance in a short time. Even Ying, the fastest flier aside from Aura, could hardly catch up.
