When preparing to launch his favorite game, Bifrost, Takao Souta suddenly falls unconscious. Some time passes and he wakes up, not in his apartment, but in the game as his in-game character, Umbra. He soon finds that his NPCs have become sentient, and the world is not the Bifrost he knows, it is overtaken by monsters.
