160 years ago, the Gloom appeared, a massive black cloud originated from outside the universe as we know it. It devoured everything in its path, world to world, seemingly nothing able to sate its rabid appetite. Even Heaven fell before the monstrous miasma, causing the Goddess and her angels to fall deathly silent for the first time since the creation of the world. Then the Gloom came for the world of mortals, and it spread across countries and continents, before ending at the boundaries of the land of Gothrien, seemingly held back by a powerful cabal of wizards known as the Red Council.
