Lunacy 51: Silk Rabbitfoot

Yvonne was in the library keeping an eye on a certain individual. This individual was named Gerda Blackcloak.

Gerda had been continuously visiting the library and borrowing and reading books pertaining to fiction. Silk was quite busy herself, as she was in charge of weaving thin, conductive filaments for the research she and Rai Shin were conducting.

Silk ‘slipped’ out whenever she could, but she couldn’t get used to her shortened legs. She wasn’t sure if getting back at Agnis for this would be a great idea, as she had experienced what would happen every time she tried to get back at Giana.

It had made her appreciate Raishin more, though. Her anxiety and nervousness had disappeared when she was with Raishin. She considered spending a prolonged time with Agnis to get the same effect. Her ultimate aim was to get this with the one she was spying on, but the relationship between them wasn’t great.

Silk had forgotten about their goal of coming here until she spotted Gerda by chance. The aura she was giving off reminded her that half of her team was cursed, despite Gerda’s aura being natural. It just reminded Silk about miasma and curses.

“I have to get back…. My break is almost over…” She turned around, tripped over her shortened legs and face planted. “Ouch…”

She got back and returned to their workshop.

Oh, welcome back Silk! How is Gerda doing?

“How did you know?!!!” Silk asked embarrassed.

Hey, I might be an idiot, but I’m not dumb!

“I think being an ‘idiot’ means that you’re dumb…”

Rai Shin started the various tests and told Silk what he did and what he noticed. He was ‘hacking’ various electromagical based magic tools. Silk wrote his findings down and would turn it into a research paper equivalent. She wasn’t skilled in writing these, but their group got a pass, as the results and observations of this research seemed to hold a lot of value to the council.

“But to want to imitate magical tools by just using magic. To think the Misha were that advanced in magic!”

The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.

Agnis used to say that humans are quite useless in a magical context. I never understood it, but they sure have crazy ideas! Oh, my lightning gets slowed down here. What did you say it was called? A Resistor?

Silk nodded and wrote down more observations.

Another Misha would translate their work into purely magical and then another team of Misha would turn that information into magic.

But to think that they suck so bad in lightning magic that they can’t do this! Am I not amazing?

“Any chance that this might be a racial ability?” Silk asked, as she didn’t believe that Misha would suck at lightning magic.

  Uhh, who knows? Who cares!

Rai Shin and Silk arrived home late and exhausted. Rai Shin went to watch tv and Silk opened books about electromagical devices as she had seen since she came here as she initially had no idea on how those worked.

Rai Shin hated studying, so she had to. It had given her ideas, which she could combine with Noelle’s construction abilities or the two lightning users in her party.

“What do you think Greg is researching?”

Rai Shin looked back over the couch to Silk.

Dunno, probably some edgy stuff like ehh… curses or something!

“Didn’t we come here to get those curses off you guys?” Silk said as she put her book down and stretched.

  Curses?

Silk sighed and wondered if at least the others would have more luck in finding ways to get rid of those deadly sin curses.

Silk retired for the night and wondered on what to do with Greg. It was disheartening that he didn’t respond to anything she did, and it was slowly sapping the attraction she had for him. She knew it was wrong, but she got more interested in Raishin or Agnis.

“I’m such a bad rabbit…” She said as she buried her head into her pillow.
