Chapter 5: Setting the board II

Naomi frowned to herself mentally as Bella described her encounter with her father of giving her father far too much power over her should her plan fail. The girl was worried, and it would be a hinderance no doubt, but an expected one. Emerging from her hiding spot. Naomi hopped onto the bench and then cuddled into Bella's lap, playing the part of the cat she pretended to be. All the while, she let her power flow into Bella, calming her emotions and then carefully planting the idea of going to her temple and Soalis's to convince Reza to join in on her plan as the two women discuss what options the girl had. Naomi let out a meow and gave the girl a gentle headbutt before running off her work done here, but there was still plenty more task to do to make preparations for the day of the fire.

Naomi's attention was next drawn to Soalis' temple the next day. She may have planted the idea in Bella's head, but she still needed to lay the groundwork for her healer friend to agree. Taking on the guise of one of Soalis' female devotees, she slipped in where Reza and Bella were talking, pretending to do some work that was needed here and there, gauging the young Kuri's thoughts, providing Bella with what she needed to convince the girl with gentle whispering on the third plane of existence.

"So let me get this straight Heir Corvais you plan on running away, not by stealing away on a ship but by stealing a ship from your father and so far he has agreed because he thinks you're making some sort of book and sailing school! You want me to risk being sold off once more for attempting to run away? Something I haven't done in at least three years. Have you forgotten that I am banned from setting foot on the docks? How would I even make it to the ship or better yet, how would we even get out of port?"
