After the everyone on the third floor was made aware of his plan, Ragnar instructed everyone to act naturally for the remaining time. The children were incredibly anxious leading up to the final day. Jugo went with Raioten to jog around the track. The relaxed pace helped Raioten clear his head, but Jugo was pushing himself just to keep up. Kagura kept himself in bed, repeatedly summoning the hammer he had acquired. As he was practicing, Ragnar approached him.
Ragnar: I see you're getting really good with bringing that out, I'm proud.
Kagura: Yeah! It's second natural to me at this point! With both of us using this, we'll be unstoppable!
Ragnar: Its second... nevermind. You need to know that there's only one hammer.
Kagura: Wut?
Ragnar: Here(summons hammer), bring out the hammer for me.
Kagura tried a few times, but was unable to summon the hammer like normal.
Kagura: It feels just out of reach, almost like somethings keeping it from me.
Ragnar: That would be me. Two people cannot summon the same spirit weapon at once.
Kagura: Well that's stupid.
Ragnar: I just wanted you to understand that. If you're ever unable to summon the weapon just know I really need it at that moment. Otherwise, it's all yours.
Kagura: I understand but why would you need it anyway?
Ragnar: What do you mean?
Kagura: I mean, the Warden is the toughest guy we have to fight right? After him it's a ton of soldiers and I can't imagine any of them giving you problems.
Ragnar: Don't underestimate the Warden. Each Warden was put in charge of these towers for a reason. The leader of the Futurists stationed each one with confidence that they would be able to handle any incidents. There's also the fact that this island will be swarming with soldiers and robots from other Towers once the alarm is sounded. We cannot afford to let complacency take hold in our minds.
Kagura: I had no idea.
Ragnar: I know, you fell asleep during the briefing.
Kagura: Sorry about that!
Ragnar: It all goes down tomorrow, good luck Kagura.
Kagura: Keep it, I won't need it!
As Ragnar left, Kagura hopped back into bed to relax. Ragnar traveled to the track. He stuck out a hand and grabbed the speeding Raioten by his shirt.
Ragnar: Hey there, have your seen Jugo?
Jugo: I'm here!
Jugo shuffled up to Ragnar, exhausted.
Jugo: Couldn't.... keep up...
Ragnar: You two need to go relax, no more physical activity alright?
Jugo: Yeah... that would... be good.
Raioten nodded and helped the exhausted Jugo to his room. Raioten went back into his team's room, surprising Red and Kagura.
Kagura: Hey bro!
Raioten waved and laid down on the floor, wide awake. Red and Kagura both laid down next to him without another word bergen the two of them. They all understood the severity of their situation. Even though morning would bring danger, each of them could only focus on the positives.
The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
After meeting Jugo and Ragnar, Kagura was excited to travel outside so he could find even more powerful people. Red couldn't wait to go home to see her parents, who she knew were worried sick. Raioten was more nervous thinking about the outside of the tower than he was thinking about the escape. Not knowing a thing about life outside, his mind raced with all of the possibilities until a foot smacked him in his face.
Raioten turned and saw an unconscious Red. She had shuffled near him and had put her legs over his body while he was lost in thought. Kagura was also asleep on the floor and was snoring like a small bear. Raioten smiled and carried them both to their beds before leaning against the wall to sleep before the big day.
In the morning, the air was cold and heavy. Ragnar and Jugo stood in the corridor, waiting for everyone to wake up. As they began to crowd in the main room, Raioten's eyes shot open. He could tell that something was happening. As he looked around the room, Kagura and Red were already up. Their eyes were completely serious. They nodded to Raioten and the trio walked out into the main corridor. The entire floor was completely silent. As the trio walked forward, they all got into position. Ragnar looked around for a head count and nodded to the group.
Ragnar led the prisoners to the main door separating then from the soldiers' barracks. All of the prisoners were able to hear Ragnar take a deep breath just before all hell broke loose. He summoned his hammer and in one mighty swing, Ragnar launched the metal door off of its hinges. In a split second, the silence was broken. The first group of the prisoners ran straight towards the group of soldiers on active duty.
The first group was Ragnar, Jugo, and Kagura. The second group of prisoners went after the soldiers exercising. The second group was made up of the more combative teams, led by Red. Raioten went with the third group to raid the standby shift. The final group of prisoners was comprised of the 'non combatants'. Raioten was there, holding on to Tor as the final line of defense. All of the weaker and elderly prisoners launched their sneak attack on the sleeping shift. All of the groups were able to easily overwhelm the soldiers, except for the A group.
Facing the armed squadron, the toughest prisoners were having issues. Kagura was allowed to use the hammer to help him fight alongside Jugo and Ragnar. During their assault, a soldier was able to sound the alarm. Kagura suffered moderate injuries during the fight, but they were victorious nonetheless. The groups all met back up just outside of the entrance to a stairwell.
The massive stairwell put the prisoners right in between two massive doorways. The doors led up to other rooms and stairs to the highest floor in the tower. Following Toshiro's notes, Ragnar positioned himself directly ahead of the left door. Each of the groups lined up in order to keep the non combatants protected in the back. According to Toshiro, the large doors were to allow robotics and vehicles clearance into the building.
Ragnar: Jugo. Lower to doors.
Jugo: Right.
Jugo went to the control panel for the large door. He followed the notes Toshiro left behind and was able to initiate the opening sequence. The entrance code began to slowly open all of the doors on that floor. Ragnar turned to the group.
Ragnar: This is it everyone, the fight of our lives. Stick with your groups and we will prevail!
The group of prisoners roared out in confidence, as the door slowly descended.
Jugo: It'll be about 5 minutes before the doors are completely down.
Ragnar: That's fine, we'll rest for the time being.
As the doors all continued their slow descent, Raioten got a terrible feeling in his stomach. He turned around to look behind the fourth group. He ran past his elders and stood in front of the massive door behind everyone. Rushing to the main group, Raioten tried to grab Ragnar's arm.
Ragnar: Hey! Listen kid, not today. If you can't handle it you can stay back but you need to stay with your group. Don't break formation.
Raioten jumped around, flailing his arms.
Kagura: Bro its fine, trust us. Toshiro's plan has every step of this mapped out.
As the doors continued downward, Raioten went to Red.
Red: What's going on back there?
Raioten tried to describe that he had a bad feeling about to other doorway. As the doors were nearly lowered, the first groups ran to jump over the front door. Red looked to the back doorway and couldn't see anything.
Red: Hey, I have to go ok but please be safe!
Red ran forward to catch up with the second group. The third group stayed with Raioten, who couldn't let go of the feeling in his chest. The third group continued forward without him. As the doors were nearly fully open, Raioten turned away. He went to the back of his group, still thinking about what he was feeling. Ragnar and Jugo crossed the doorway to no opposition whatsoever.
Ragnar: Continue forward! Full speed!
Once the doors were fully open, the back door revealed a platoon of soldiers all armed and laying prone.
?: Open fire!
The soldiers began to blasts their weaponry in the non combatants in the back. Hearing the gunfire and screaming, Raioten quickly dove down to protect Tor. The first two groups turned as well, but the door they crossed rose back up, slamming shut.
Ragnar: Fuck! Jugo, get that door back open NOW!
Jugo: On it!
The non combatants were far too weak to stand a chance. They were all immediately gunned down. Seeing all of the bloodshed and dead bodies stopped Raioten in his tracks. As he was stunned, a stray bullet hit him and knocked him over. The soldiers walked over all of the bodies, shooting them again for good measure. One soldier stepped over Raioten and noticed his eyes were still open as he was clutching a crying Tor.
?: Oh, look at this little guy.
