Ninety-Four: Discussing Daoist Techniques
"Mission accomplished, defeated horse bandits, host obtained 2000 exchange points."
Having heard the system's voice, Bai Yu's expression remained unchanged as he followed Jiu Shu's footsteps towards the town.
Arrived at the town, it was already late, and on the horizon a faint white light appeared, thinking that soon the sky would brighten up.
Bai Yu followed Jiu Shu to a large courtyard, and as they entered, Jiu Shu smiled at Bai Yu and said: "Bai Dao friend, this is my humble abode. You can stay here from now on, it's convenient for us to discuss our experiences in cultivating the Tao."
Bai Yu nodded slightly and smiled faintly: "Alright, I'll be bothering you then."
"Where are these words coming from?" Ninth Uncle shook his head and said, "Brother Dao comes to my humble abode and I'm still grateful for it, how dare you say bother? Brother Dao, please stay, I'll take you to see your room first."
Bai Yu hurriedly nodded and said: "Thank you, fellow Taoist."
Jiu Shu immediately led Bai Yu towards the depths of the courtyard, and before long they saw a row of houses, which should be the living quarters. The two walked closer, and Jiu Shu stopped in front of a room, then turned around to face Bai Yu: "This is it, you've had a long day, now go inside and rest for a bit, I'll have Ah Qiang come call you when it's time to eat."
Bai Yu nodded and said, "Thank you, fellow Taoist."
Jiu Shu then instructed Bai Yu a few words before leaving alone to treat the wounded townspeople from the battle with the horse bandits.
Bai Yu waited for the ninth uncle's figure to disappear, and then he pushed open the door in front of him and walked in. When he entered the house, Bai Yu swept his eyes over the furnishings inside and couldn't help but nod silently.
This house must have been rarely inhabited, for the furnishings were extremely tidy, with no signs of disturbance anywhere, and on top of these furnishings was a thin layer of fine dust that would be hard to notice if one didn't look carefully.
This house must have been regularly swept for a long time and is specially used for receiving guests.
Bai Yu stretched out a lazy waist, also feeling somewhat tired, so he came to the bed, put the neatly stacked quilt aside, and lay down on it with his clothes still on.
After an unknown period of time, Bai Yu suddenly felt someone calling him. He opened his eyes dazedly and saw Ah Qiang's big face right in front of him, only a finger's distance away. This startled him so much that he kicked out with a "whoosh" sound.
"Bang." "Ouch."
The power of Bai Yu's kick was so great that it directly kicked Captain A Qiang onto the wall, and then slowly slid to the ground.
"Ah Qiang let out a miserable groan and said: 'Bai Daozhang, why are you using so much force? This one move almost took my life.'"
Upon hearing this, he suddenly felt a bit embarrassed and smiled awkwardly: "Sorry, I was impulsive for a moment." Then he got up from the bed, carefully helped A Qiang up and asked: "Qiang team, what are you doing here?"
A Qiang is now full of resentment in his heart, and he said angrily: "It's not that Master asked me to come and call you for dinner, who knew I was beaten by you. Ah, it hurts so much, it's such a big deal."
Bai Yu hastily apologized with a smile: "I'm really sorry, let's go eat now, or else our Taoist friend will be kept waiting."
A Qiang originally wanted to complain about Bai Yu a couple more sentences, but after hearing this he couldn't say anything else. He covered his chest with one hand and supported his waist with the other, taking deep breaths: "Alright, let's go eat, Shifu is waiting and will scold me again." With A Qiang's petty mind, if it were someone else, he definitely wouldn't let it go easily. But this person was Bai Yu, which made him feel extremely helpless. He knew about Ninth Uncle's attitude towards Bai Yu, if he found out that he had taken revenge on Bai Yu because of this, he would definitely get angry and might even severely punish him.
In Ah Qiang's silent resentment, the two arrived at the front yard, where the table was already set and Ninth Uncle was drinking tea while waiting for them. As soon as he saw Bai Yu and Ah Qiang supporting each other, he was startled, stood up, hastily took a few steps forward, and asked: "What's going on? How did it end up like this? Has that bandit leader arrived?"
Bai Yu awkwardly smiled and then recounted what had just happened.
Jiu Shu listened and couldn't help but feel a little amused, saying: "So that's how it is. In that case, there's nothing to worry about. Come have dinner with us."
The three of them sat down immediately. Sitting in their seats, looking at the simple dishes on the table, Bai Yu suddenly felt a surge of appetite, and he was filled with a sense of longing.
Ninth Uncle smiled and said, "You've come as a guest, so we should kill a chicken to entertain you. However, tonight is my birthday banquet, so let's just have something simple now and wait until tonight when we'll have a big feast."
He smiled and said, "It's nothing, actually I prefer eating this kind of food."
Then several people around him immediately surrounded the small dish in front of them and, in a short while, it was completely eaten up by them.
After dinner, Ninth Uncle said to Ah Qiang: "Ah Qiang, you go and prepare for the birthday banquet later. I'll be discussing Taoism with Bai Daozhang in the room. Don't disturb us unless it's something important, got it?"
A'Qiang nodded hastily and replied, "Alright, Master. I guarantee that not a single mosquito will disturb you while you're talking." Upon hearing this, Jiu Shu nodded in satisfaction and then turned to Bai Yu, saying, "Fellow Daoist, come with me." He then turned around and headed towards the main hall.
With a rustle of white clothes, she lifted her steps and followed closely behind.
Upon arriving at the main hall, Ninth Uncle invited Bai Yu to take a seat and then smiled, saying: "Fellow Daoist, you truly live up to your reputation as a young prodigy. At an age of only thirty, you have already achieved such a high level of cultivation. I really don't know which senior fellow practitioner you are the disciple of."
In response to this question, Bai Yu could only muddle through, and saw him smile slightly: "To say that my master is also a transcendent figure in the world, rarely walking in this Jianghu, so Lin Dao brother should not have heard of it."
"Ah, another transcendent being? Quickly reveal your name and let me behold it."
Bai Yu hesitated for a moment, then suddenly had an epiphany and smiled: "However, it's a coincidence that my Shifu is also surnamed Lin, named Zhengying, and is of the same clan as Dao brother."
Ninth Uncle heard this and fell silent for a moment, seemingly searching his mind to figure out who this great person was. However, after searching for a long time, he couldn't come up with an answer. He couldn't help but sigh in his heart: "This really is a transcendent expert, someone whose name I've never even heard of despite my extensive knowledge." Nevertheless, he couldn't lose face, so he had to say something, and thus smiled and made some polite remarks, saying: "Indeed, you are a great person."
He then turned to Bai Yu and asked: "But I don't know what school of thought you come from?"
Bai Yu Dao said: "Actually, fellow daoist, we can be considered as fellow disciples. Most of the dao techniques I learned come from the Mao Shan secret canon 'Mao Shan Secret Techniques'."
Jiū Shū's eyes lit up, and he clasped his hands together, saying: "Having a talented Daoist friend like this in our sect is indeed a blessing for our school." He then smiled again and said: "Since we are all fellow disciples of the Mao Shan sect, why don't we discuss some of the issues we've encountered in our cultivation of secret arts?"
Bai Yu smiled and said: "Good, actually I also wanted to discuss with you, brother Dao."
Jiu Shu immediately began to discuss with Bai Yu the problems he encountered while practicing Mao Shan Fa. It must be said that after Bai Yu had mastered the secret skills of Mao Shan, his understanding of Mao Shan techniques had already reached the level of a master. As for Jiu Shu, he gained a lot from this day's discussion.
Jiǔ shū yuán lái de xiǎng fǎ shì jiāo zhe zì jǐ de jīng yàn chuán shòu yǔ bái yǔ, hǎo ràng tā néng gòu zài yǐ hòu de lù shàng zǒu dé gèng hǎo rú xiē, dàn shì shuí zhī dào le hòu lái què chéng le bái yǔ zài zhǐ diǎn tā, tā de jīng yàn yī jiǎng chūlái bái yǔ què shì néng gòu jǔ yī fǎn sān, jiāng zhè xiē yī yī de zǒng jié yán shēn.
All of this was seen by Ninth Uncle, who couldn't help but sigh at Bai Yu's innate talent and comprehension that defied the heavens.
The two people who were waiting came back to their senses in the world of Taoism, and it was already late afternoon. After chatting with each other for a while, Ah Qiang knocked on the door and walked in.
"He looked around cautiously, then smiled and said to the two sitting upright: 'Master, Bai Daozhang, the longevity feast outside is ready, let's go.'"
Jiū shū heard this and let out a mouthful of stale air, smiling at Bai Yu: "Alright, fellow Taoist, it's getting late now, let's go to the birthday banquet."
"Bai Yu nodded and said: 'Alright, let's go now, we mustn't miss the timing.'"
Then the two followed Ah Qiang to the inn where the birthday banquet was being held. The inn was already bustling with people, and inside it was packed with people. When they saw Ninth Uncle, everyone was eager to greet him, which showed how good his relationships were.
Ninth Uncle finished greeting the villagers and then smiled at Bai Yu, saying: "Let's go upstairs now, there are some people up there who are influential figures in this town, I'll introduce you to them."
Then A Qiang led the way forward, leading Bai Yu and Jiu Shu upstairs.
However, the three people met Mao Shanming who was also going downstairs at the stairs. This was Mao Shanming who had changed into a new set of clothes and was preparing to go downstairs for dinner. This meal was treated by Ninth Uncle, and he took advantage of this birthday banquet.
However, the two groups of people meeting in this narrow corridor was definitely not easy to navigate. After dodging left and right for a while, neither side gave way. Finally, Ah Qiang became impatient, stretched out his hand and pushed Mao Shanming to one side, then made way for Bai Yu and Jiu Shu to pass through.
However, just then, Bai Yu, who had been staring at Mao Shanming, also discovered the two little ghosts beside Mao Shanming.
In fact, Mao Shanming's current vagrant-like living conditions are due to his association with these two little ghosts, which has polluted his aura and led to this.
Although Bai Yu also had contact with ghostly zombies, it was only because his body possessed the rare treasure of Nu Yao Tower that he wouldn't be affected.
