Ninety-one bandits come to raid

  Ninety-one: The Horse Bandits Arrive

Walking towards the street for a while, Bai Yu soon met Mao Shanming who was coming from this direction.

After careful observation, it was discovered that his strength was about the same as Zhong Fabai's, with a slight difference of ten threads in terms of Fa Li.

At this time, Mao Shanming was wondering, muttering to himself: "Why is this town so deserted? There isn't even a single person?"

Bai Yu smiled to himself and walked towards him with a smile. Facing the bright smile of Cao Shan, he said: "Sir, I don't know if you are from around here? Why is it that there are so few people passing by this place?"

Mao Shanming was taken aback by the words, and then couldn't help but laugh out loud. He looked at Bai Yu and said: "This little brother, I'm actually also a traveler who came to borrow a place to stay. If you ask me why, I really don't know." Then he looked around again, suddenly pointing forward and saying: "There's an inn up ahead, let's go take a look and we can also stay there for the night."

Bai Yu nodded and smiled somewhat awkwardly: "Sorry about that, sir. Let's go take a look up ahead then."

Then the two of them came to the front of the inn together, Bai Yu stepped forward and patted the door with his hand. As soon as his hand touched the door, it creaked open by itself.

Bai Yu and Mao Shanming exchanged a glance, and Mao Shanming exclaimed: "Isn't there anyone?"

"We don't know, let's go in and take a look."

Mao Shanming nodded in agreement, and together with Bao Yang, he pushed the door open and entered. Inside, it was pitch black, as if all the light had been absorbed, making Mao Shanming, who was half-drunk, unable to see the situation inside for a moment.

However, Mao Shanming couldn't see clearly, but Bai Yu could. He discovered a group of villagers hiding in the dark, who were now one by one holding weapons and staring angrily at the two men. Suddenly, with a "whoosh" sound, all the torches lit up at once, and the scene was revealed.

This sudden situation immediately shocked Mao Shanming, who was unprepared, and for a moment he was flustered.

As soon as they saw them, they didn't say a word and launched a fierce attack, slashing straight at the two of them.

Bai Yu was not Mao Shan Ming, Mao Shan Ming did not learn any skills and had only a good physique and some self-defense skills, but Bai Yu could completely solve the group of people in front of him with his own physical quality.

Mao Shanming was dodging in a flash, while Bai Yu coldly smiled and raised his hands casually, catching the two people who were chopping at him with their swords.

He didn't let go of the two men's hands, and his body arched again. With a flick of his hand, he passed the knives in their hands to behind him. "Clang" - two sparks burst out, blocking the attack from behind. Then, he straightened up again, pulling the two men's hands, and they involuntarily moved towards White Feather.

Bai Yu let out a cold snort, and with a swift kick, the two of them were suddenly suspended in mid-air. Bai Yu then gave them another flick, sending them flying like two cannonballs, crashing into the crowds on either side.

Although the two of them rushed out in a hurry, they didn't exert too much force, so they wouldn't get hurt. If these people were to get injured, he might even have a falling out with Ninth Uncle.

The two of them flew out quickly, and in this relatively narrow room, they inevitably bumped into people. Suddenly, a group of people were knocked to the ground, directly becoming a mess.

"Suddenly a loud shout came over, 'Don't move! I've got your companion now, if you resist again, I'll kill him.'"

Bai Yu stopped his movements and looked in the direction of the voice, seeing the person's face he recognized him as Jiu Shu's apprentice and also the leader of the security team. Bai Yu turned his eyes around and smiled at him: "Brother, why do you need to kill people? You just want money, right? I can give it to you, but you have to let go of the person in your hands."

"Right, right, we can give you money, just let me go."

The captain of the guards was taken aback, and asked in a puzzled tone: "Who said we were asking for money?" Then, as if he had thought of something else, he suddenly shouted at Bai Yu: "Are you people from the Horse Bandits' gang? Are you here to probe our defenses?"

Bai Yu had long guessed it would be like this, and with a chuckle, he shook his head and said: "Sir, I think you've misunderstood. We're just passing pedestrians who came here to borrow a place to stay for the night. How could we be members of the Horse Thief Gang?"

Cao Shanming also hastily nodded: "Right, right, we are travelers, just passing by."

The security captain did not believe it, looked at Bai Yu coldly and smiled, saying: "Often scouts are caught and will not admit that they are scouts."

Bai Yu felt helpless towards the stubborn and unthinking security captain in front of him, and was about to make another excuse, but unexpectedly the door opened again.

Only a man with white hair and beard, about forty or fifty years old but still very spirited, came in. It was none other than the highly respected Ninth Uncle of this place.

Jiu Shu walked in and saw that there were two more people inside, one of whom was even at odds with his own side, and he couldn't help but pause, looking at the security captain: "A Qiang, what's going on? Who are these two...?"

Security captain Ah Qiang saw Jiu Shu and said with an unchanged expression: "Master, you're just in time. These two are scouts for the horse thieves. What do you think we should do with them?"

Jiū shū yī zhèn de jīng yà, wàng le wàng bái yǔ yǔ máo shān míng liǎng rén, què shì àn àn de yáo tóu, yǐ tā de yǎn lì zì rán néng gòu cóng wài zài de biǎo xiàn kàn chū yī gè rén de běn xìng hǎo huài, zài guān chá le bái yǔ liǎng rén hòu zì shì néng gòu kàn chū tā jiǎ rén bú shì huài rén, dàn shì tā tū rán què shì yī ngàng, yīn wèi tā tū rán fā xiàn le yī dào bù xiǎo de fǎ lì bō dòng, xún zhe zhè bō dòng ér qù fā xiàn jìng rán shì bái yǔ de shēn shàng sǎn fā chū lái de, ér suí hòu yòu jīng xǐ de guān chá le yī xià máo shān míng bù yú dé gèng shì jīng yà, yīn wèi tā méi yǒu xiǎng dào yǎn qián de zhè liǎng rén jìng rán dōu shì yǒu fǎ lì de rén.

However, it was somewhat strange and astonishing in secret: what's going on? How can the younger generation be more powerful than the older one? Shouldn't it be the other way around? However, this is not the time to think about it. Facing Ah Qiang, he instructed: "Ah Qiang, let these two Taoist friends go."

Everyone in the inn was stunned. Ah Qiang exclaimed in surprise, "Fellow Taoist? Master, you're not mistaken, are they? They shouldn't be scouts, should they?"

"Let him go at once!" Ninth Uncle glared and shouted.

When he saw Ninth Uncle get angry, Ah Qiang finally somewhat awkwardly put down the Maoshan Ming that was pinched in his hand.

Jiǔ shū xiān shì duì zhe liǎng rén xíng le yī lǐ, wèn dào: "liǎng wèi dào yǒu, bù zhī nǐmen wèi hé xiàn zài lái dào zhè lǐ?"

  Translation:

The Ninth Uncle first bowed to the two of them and asked, "Two Taoist friends, I don't know why you have come here now?"

Bai Yu heard this and returned the courtesy, sighing: "Fellow Taoist, to be honest with you, we were just passing through this place and wanted to find a place to stay for the night, but who knew it would turn out like this."

Mao Shanming was surprised at this time, pointing at Bai Yu and saying: "Young brother, you are also a Taoist?"

Ninth Uncle heard this and couldn't help but stare blankly, saying: "Aren't you all together?"

Bai Yu shook his head and chuckled, "It's not that, I happened to arrive in this town and asked for directions, and coincidentally asked this fellow Daoist here. Who knew we were both here to borrow a place to stay, so we came together."

Ninth Uncle nodded in understanding and then said, "In that case, the two of you can stay here. The village is currently busy with something and won't be able to entertain you."

Mao Shanming asked in confusion: "Fellow Taoist, what's going on here? Why is everyone holding a sword?"

Ninth Uncle's expression turned slightly solemn as he said, "Just recently we received news that a group of bandits are coming to raid our town. We don't want to wait for death, so everyone is preparing to fight against these bandits."

Mao Shanming was shocked at this time, and he couldn't help but secretly curse his bad luck. Why did he come here at this critical moment?

Bai Yu also looked surprised and said, "I didn't expect such a thing to happen here. Brother, may I ask if I can join this action too? Let me contribute my humble efforts."

Upon hearing this, Ninth Uncle couldn't help but hesitate for a moment. It wasn't that he didn't believe Bai Yu and the other person now, it's just that after all, they had come to this place, and weren't related people, being implicated in this made him feel somewhat improper.

At this moment, a man rushed in and shouted to Jiu Shu: "Report, that group of horse thieves has already passed the outer mountain and is on the middle road. Are we going to take action now?"

Jiū shū děng rén tīng yán dùn shí miàn shàng yì jǐn, dùn shí dōu shì jǐn zhāng le qǐ lái.

  English Translation:

The ninth uncle and others listened to the words, their faces suddenly became tense, and they all became nervous at once.

"Let's go," Ninth Uncle said abruptly to the crowd in the house. Then he turned to Bai Yu and said, "Fellow Taoist, this is our village's affair, so there's no need for you to intervene."

Bai Yu shook his head and said, "No, as cultivators, it is our duty to punish evil and eliminate wickedness. We absolutely cannot ignore the existence of such evil people causing chaos."

These words were heard by Mao Shanming, but they made him blush a little. As a Taoist cultivator, he really hadn't thought about these things before. In general, when encountering such things, he would usually avoid them from afar.

Ninth Uncle saw that he was speaking with great enthusiasm, and in his heart, he also admired him. He couldn't help but laugh and nod: "Good, Daoist friend is indeed a man of noble character and integrity. Since that's the case, let's go meet those horse bandits together."

He immediately turned around and led them to the place they had prepared in advance.

A Qiang was somewhat curious about the departing Bai Yu, earlier when Bai Yu unleashed his divine might he had been watching, and just from the two hands that Bai Yu used to counterattack them, one could see that there was something extraordinary about him. He couldn't help but think: If this person really isn't a spy, then he would truly be a good helper, however before thoroughly verifying his identity it's still best to be cautious.

Then he turned around and instructed those behind him: "The old stay, the young follow me." He also followed suit.

Mao Shanming did not return, so he stayed in that row of old age and guarded the inn.

I didn't expect this network to be so easy-going, this chapter is posted, but I'll still update tomorrow.
