  Sammy's Sammich, like any other store or shop, was empty. Maybe everyone lost their appetite after what happened yesterday. The thought of what you saw last night made your stomach do a backflip. You gagged. Atlas was quick to usher you to the restroom, where you emptied out the remaining water you drank a while back from inside your stomach.

  "Are you okay? I mean, do you want to go home? I can take you home," Atlas said.

  Under the dim light of the restroom, you could see his worried expression. His eyes went to the empty sink.

  "Maybe I should get you something to eat first," he said, and then gave you a reassuring smile.

  Hand on your belly, you two slowly went out of the restroom. Kristina was already seated in one of the empty spots at the very back. She waved at you as if there were other customers.

  "Don't you have work?" You asked Atlas.

  "Nah, Lucille said I could take the day off. I was reluctant at first, but then I remembered you guys."
