You glanced at the source and saw Atlas in the dark corner of the alleyway. You jumped, expecting it to be from an old appliance or something else, not a whole person. How come you didn't notice him when you sneaked in between the houses?
"Geez, you scared me," you said, clutching your shirt.
Atlas stood up and placed his hands inside the pockets of his dark jeans. He is not wearing his library uniform anymore; you wondered why. "No, you just don't pay much attention to your surroundings. See? I followed you from the house before. I knew you would be surprised!" He laughed.

"Uh, no. I could've sworn you were not around," you said, taking a step back when Atlas walked towards you.
His eyes contrasted with the alleyway and, fair to say, the whole town. His eyes were cold blue; they reminded you of good summer skies. "Come on," he let out an exasperated sigh, "you didn't even look!"
You stopped in your tracks and realized he was right. You were so absorbed in this whole adventure that you were confident that there were no people around.
