Chapter 55 : The training of the Siblings and Causality choices.

Dolores and Aquila were accompanying Ivona and her friends on a trip to the ocean, onboard the Fairwinds ship. Captain Morgan greeted them warmly and the crew gave the children toys. The other parents seemed a little skeptical to their actions.

"Hello there, my little sailors. Let's go on an adventure! My name is Captain Morgan. Welcome to the Fairwinds." The captain turned to Ivona.

"The Grand Chancellor's niece, we're going to meet one of your uncle's friends in the ocean. Are you excited?"

"Yes!" Ivona squealed with joy as they were brought to the deck. The Fairwinds slowly began its descent into the water. Glancing out the windows as they saw sharks swimming about, seeing Deep Down who was swimming alongside them.

  "Hi Mister Deep Down!"

"Hello, little one. Do you like the ocean?"

"Yeah! But mommy says the ocean is scary."

"It is, only for bad people that use the ocean! But as you can see..." They watched a giant eye open up, where some of the kids squealed but Ivona? She went close to the window.

"A GIANT SQUID! LOOK MOMMY, DADDY! GIANT SQUID!" The giant squid moved away as they see dolphins swim up to their side. Followed by narwhals, belugas and seals. Coming over to play as the ship slowly moved in the water. Avoiding any damage to the corals that were below. The creatures swimming about was a marvel for those the ones present. Ivona was just happy to watch the animals move about freely.

Aquila and Dolores were worried at first but seeing Deep Down and Captain Morgan being so hospitable was great news. Though the media on the other hand labeled Raven as a monster. Everything labeled him as a rogue and renegade that waged war against Latelica and the complete destruction of its capital was a PR Nightmare. Falco, Stervy and Aquila already spoke about how it was an action that was coming anyway.

Hunters in other countries felt uneasy as did many places. Association President Black explained that the warning was given by Raven a while ago. When interviewing the other captains of the ships, they simply replied that they were lucky that it was a cannon rather than Raven going on a hunt and executed them one by one. When interviewing Red Specter, Crimson King and Violet Wiseman? The reporters heard a more crazy answer.

"If it was the him we met in the past? He'd massacre cities. Not the kind of instant destruction but slowly and painfully. You really want to piss a guy like that off? And just so you know, he's killed all of us before. You know how strong we are, and he destroyed us, along with other mercenaries. Solo. Get that through your damn skulls. So take my word for it. Don't piss him off. Just do your own shit and be done with it." Crimson King explained.

The Hunter Academy talked about how learning under Raven's allies were a much more unique experience. They were easier to understand and made concepts simpler rather than the long lectures. Combat training was always on everyone's mind. They had to brush with death far too often. The training with Raven's allies was intense, mental training that involved them to fare against the two Eldritches to help increase resistance to mental attacks. Then facing off against Corvus who was literally tearing them apart. Ciara teaching them how to use aura and manifesting it.

Aquila read the reports while Dolores spent time with Ivona, then seeing something pop up in front of him.

  A text from Stervy.

'Yeah, I'm going into the Two Birds with Falco. We're going to see what's up. You two don't jump into anything. Spend time with Ivona.'

'Thanks.' Aquila glanced at Dolores and Ivona as the ship slowly rose up back to the surface of the ocean. Where Deep Down gave them food to feed the animals, watching a few seal pups jump aboard. Wanting to interact with them, their softness and white colored bodies made them prime targets for everyone to melt out of cuteness.

Falco and Stervy? They were in a white space before the Causality.

  Skills available for Stervy(Bird Two)

  Skills available for Falco(Bird One)

  Equipment.

  Special Infiltration Suits.

  Suppressed pistols.

  Knives of different types.

"Well... This... This looks interesting. You up for it?"

"Yeah, we could use some of these skills... System, why are we suddenly allowed to join in Causalities?"

"Fair.. Fair.." The Infiltrator suits formed over their bodies, sleek in design with a tightness to it. Pockets for magazines. Knives and their ski-masks that were all black along with the night vision goggles attached to it via straps. Their ski-masks had a special lens on it. Memories flooded into their minds.

The Two Birds were once part of an independent private military group known as Ivory Sky. However, when Ivory Sky took over countries and decided to launch a few peaceful nations into counterattack. The two of them decided to take action to destroy it from within. Assassins known for their lethality. Whereas Raven's Lone Operator was the one who faced them head on. Now, the two of them are on their own, taking the occasional jobs that are more for protection rather than killing. Usually for celebrities and the like.

"Celebrities? We took down an entire PMC and now we're doing bodyguard work for celebrities? That sounds hilarious."

"it's not as if they ask us, it's usually a practice that the company hires a backup team because of the crazy fans and stalking cases that have been happening. We're the ones who are armed, despite it not being legal but most of the time we're given licenses to operate because the debts the countries owe us..." Falco paused, then glancing at Stervy.

"Seems like the information flows in fast. Let's see what this one is all about then."

The pair opened their eyes, with Stervy's eyes on a sniper rifle's scope and a Falco was cleaning his pistol. They were in a barren room with no lights on, clad in their black infiltrator suits. The pair exchanged glances. Shaking their heads as they were thinking about how their bodies were assimilated so easily.

"So we're the backup bodyguards. Yours is Chelsea Loo and mine is Marie Sharto Time for us to move." Folding the bipod of his rifle, letting it hang on his back as Falco passed a pistol for him. The pair made their way out with their ski-masks and night vision goggles on. Climbing out the window as they jumped on the roof. The roof of the central hall. An awards night that was supposed to be happening here, security packed with men in suits and some members of the police. The two siblings moved silently across the pipes, the vents to get into the area. Hanging in one of the viewing spots that had an out of order sign hung in front of it.

The author's narrative has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.

Chelsea Loo was a lady in a black dress while Marie wore a gray dress. Fancy with all the glitters and the bareback exposed with slits by the thigh area. Despite the attractiveness of their two targets, the pair had bigger problems to look for. Hidden in the dark corner as their eyes corrected itself to the bright lights shined down below. Hoping for no trouble tonight. Falco was equipped with a submachine gun because if it was a rifle he'd be worried about the whole 'overpenetration' business that could lead to some casualties by accident. Stervy's semi automatic rifle was on his shoulders but that was for anything further. Using it in this room was going to be tedious given the weight.

Their ears were glued to the coms chatter of the guards as well as a scrambler for any trouble. They also noticed another PMC outfit moving around in casuals but their guns were hidden in their suits. Most likely concealed pistols or any other weapons. What gave them away was their overcautiousness and their walk. Walking with a concealed firearm has a different meaning to who wields it. Forcing to act casual but their eyes were on the exits. Heads darting around for anything that seemed out of place. The ceremony went underway without a hitch but hearing a faint groan on one line? That was a sign that something could go wrong. Their pistols were 20 round capacity with specialized ammunition. Even then, they had to be ready for trouble.

"So much for a quiet night." Stervy groaned as he pulled the slide of his pistol and flicked off the safety.

"Better than what we seen so far. That's something to be thankful for. Rather than being thrown into a warzone."

Some gunfire was heard on the radio but the loud music of the hall had the guests still seated. The PMCs on the other hand made their move to the exits. The two birds lay in wait as the situation could be resolved by those PMCs and that they would only act if there was a need for it. Meaning? Other people's lives aren't a concern, only their designated VIPs. The gunfire intensified and some of the people had been alarmed.

The doors opened as men in masks fired their guns.

"Stay down or you'll be killed!" The other guards were shot. Roughly 30 men came running through the doors. That was when the two of them made their move to the lower levels.Lowering the night vision goggles as Falco pressed a button on his phone app. Killing the lights. Sudden gasps of panic took the air as the gunmen were trying to figure out what's going on.

"What the?! What happened to the l-" The pair made their move stepping out of cover as they gunned down the gunmen. Racking in headshots in quick succession, Falco snapping a gunman's head as he continued gunning down the rest. Waving their guns, firing into random directions. Normally it would be a concern but their VIPs were behind them and laying on the ground. Knives to the throat as the gunmen slowly became stressed from the lack of vision.

"Lights on! Get the lights!" A lone gunman shouted, trying to see if his friends were alive. Only for Stervy's knife to reach the throat. Holstering their knives and pistols. Making their way to Chelsea and Marie.

"Stay quiet. We'll bring you both out." The two of them said as they brought Chelsea and Marie on their feet. Moving through the outside area as more gunmen were still trying to figure out what had happened. The two Birds? Just continued with their flight, leaving a trail of bodies as they continued moving in the darkness. Chelsea and Marie tried to speak but every time they opened their mouths, they'd be hushed. Pure silence as they had to merely keep their heads down as their rescuers went through the area. Moving them to cover, as Stervy would take the shot while Falco would get close and personal. The silence slowly wore off as Marie and Chelsea found themselves being brought to a van where they were brought to the back. Falco and Stervy got in the front seat and began driving through the backstreets. Making sure that they were hidden.

  "Who... Who are you?"

"Your bodyguards. That's it." A simple response, colder than ice but Chelsea and Marie were trying to wrap their heads around it. The leather seats in the back was comfy but the sight of guns on the ceiling and boxes hidden beneath their seats? That was a moment to remind them that they were not out of the woods yet. Did they feel safe? Two masked men show up out of nowhere, bring them out and put them in a truck? How would any sane person think it was safe?

"We'll be reaching a place where your managers will pick you up with another PMC unit, called Blue Eyes. You're familiar with them right?"

  "Yeah... I am but..."

"Tonight's incident was just a bunch of crazed gunmen thinking they could get some cash if they held you for ransom. That's the story they'll play. Don't think too hard or too deep into it. Blue Eyes can keep you safe from here on out. This is our last job for the month anyway. You won't see us again."

"Is it so wrong to know who your rescuers are?" Marie's response was left with silence from the Two Birds as the van stopped. Then hearing voices outside.

"Your payment has already been put in... We'd like to ask you to help be their bodyguards full time if that's possible." A woman's voice spoke up, only for the backdoors opened up. Revealing their managers and the Blue Eyes mercenaries in full gear.

"We don't work exclusive contracts. Only when we need cash. Besides you're slapping us with a hundred thousand dollars on this. That's our minimum fee and risks involved. Pays for ammunition and for any injuries." Stervy said as he cleared his rifle and took out the magazine. Falco did the same with his submachine gun but out of habit the pistol would remain loaded.

"We'll take our leave. Contact us again if you got any other work. The van will find its way back to us. So you can just keep it." The two Birds walked into the shadows. Walking through the dark of the night with ease. As they took a step to the side, they see a text appear.

Opening their eyes, Stervy and Falco found themselves in the house.

"Uncles!" Ivona leaped over to them as the pair fell on their butts. Glancing at their gear which was from the Two Birds Causality.

"So, what's that one like?" Dolores asked as she set up the plates while Aquila brought the pot of beef stew. Where Ivona was then greeted by Aquila's Phantom Hare that decided to sit on her lap, along with the other beasts that decided to snuggle up to her. Hearing her giggle from all the ticklish sensation of the fur and scales, a leopard nuzzling its head on Ivona's palm. Where Ivona began to massage the leopard's cheeks.

"Some of them we haven't met any of the Causality yet. And there's Causalities that are solo for us. Some Causalities are shorter but anything with Raven will take time. Besides, we need to get back into dungeon hunting." Stervy spoke as they took their seats. They watched how Ulfang and Inzaka just prepared the meats for the other animals that had been loitering in the house.

As they were eating, something popped up in front of them.

"So... Are we safe? Is our brains going to be fried eggs?"

Stervy breathed in relief to what they had seen, taking a moment to eat their meal but the system was feeding information. Various Causalities, Causalities with a high difficulty curve and ones that do not have a difficulty. Causalities that focus on forging bonds or learning non-combat related techniques. Causalities that will give them more benefits. It was stated in the world of Shady Enforcer, Raven was one of the Shady Enforcers that belong to Gambit King. But that world was so twisted, governments only intervened when it was needed. Good and evil would fight all the time and in terms of difficulty?

Shady Enforcer is considered the hardest.

As they read the details, it went to detail how Raven became the sole Enforcer who defended the Gambit King. Taking down the other Enforcers who tried to make a coup de tat against the original Gambit King.

"We should meet with Aisha and Rodin. Tomorrow."
