“Welcome to minigame number 3 of the maze game. Today, the six of you will play hide and seek in the forest. The first three of you will be hiders and the three of you who just entered will be the seekers. The hiders will have 5 minutes to hide and the seekers will have 1 hour to find them and bring them here. If there are any hiders left when the timer ends, the hiders win. And if all of them are found, the seekers win. Killing and the use of abilities are allowed. All killed hiders will count as found and if all the seekers die the hiders win.” Lucy explains while taking a glance at her nails.

  “Any questions?” She asks.

  Just by looking at them I can tell none of them are very physically capable. All of their builds are average, with the man being the most fit but even his figure isn’t anything special. I could kill them all pretty easily in battle so depending on their abilities, this minigame could end really quickly.

  “I have a question.” The man smuggly said while raising his hand.

  “Are the other opponents allowed to switch teams?” He asks while looking at Riveria.

  “Yeah I guess, why? ” Lucy responds.

  The man’s smile contorts to a devilish smile that was directed at Riveria. This caused her to feel a bit uncomfortable and caused her to squirm around slightly.

  “Why is he looking at me like that?” She whispered to Jack.

  Jack just shrugged his shoulders.

  The man walked up to Riveria, ignoring the other two males, and offered to shake her hand. She shook it and the man began to speak.

  “Hello, my name is Grayson. Can you please switch my team, beautiful? It would be a shame to have to fight a beauty like you.” He said in an attempt to be charming.

  “What? Of course not! I don’t know you!” Riveria exclaimed while taking a few steps back.

  Grayson shrugs his shoulders and frowns in defeat.

  “It was worth a shot.” The redhead said.

  During this interaction, Loid was just standing very confused and oblivious to Grayson’s flirting with Rivera. Lucy on the other hand was visibly annoyed and looked like she was about to kill Grayson.

  “If you’re done with these shenanigans, we can start the minigame. The hiders can now begin hiding, the timer will start once you enter the forest.” Lucy said.

  Jack, Loid, and Riveria all entered the forest and began walking around. As expected from the outside appearance, the whole area was just surrounded with dirt, trees, and logs. Oddly enough, there weren't any ants, worms or any signs of life. Depending on who the seekers and the hiders are, the hiders could easily stay unseen for an hour.

  The best course of action would be to split up in order to make it harder for them to find us. I doubt they’ll try to bring us in, judging from his actions earlier, they’ll probably try to kill us. Which will make it easy for me to keep track of everyone’s location due to the noise.

  “We sho-”

  “We should split up right?” Loid says, interrupting Jack while looking up at him.

  He accurately assessed the situation and understood splitting up was the best course of action. Plus, he spoke up immediately which is something he wouldn’t have done before. This boy is not only weird but he’s becoming more bold and confident too.

  “Yeah, we should go in different directions. Loid go left, Riveria go right, and I’ll keep going straight.” Jack instructed.

  And That’s exactly what they did. The trip split up and kept exploring the forest in their respective directions.

  Meanwhile, Lucy wasn’t having a great time with the other team. Grayson was making constant attempts to hit on her and seemingly wanted her to join the harem that he was attempting to build. Completely disregarding the fact she was an Onlooker of the death game he was in. Oddly enough, the other women in the team were completely fine with it and were just conversing with each other about trivial matters.

  Luckily for her though, the five minutes were up so the other team went inside the forest. Lucy would’ve definitely killed him if the 5 minute timer didn’t end when it did.

  In the forest, Jack was walking around slowly, regulating his speed to make sure he didn’t go too fast. If he really wanted to he could probably just dig a hole in the ground to prevent being found. But that would leave his teammates vulnerable to the other team. So, he was waiting or rather listening, for any sign of the other team.

  The interesting thing was that his hearing wasn’t going to be the sense that located the opposing team.

  15 minutes later, he smelt something…it was the smell of smoke.

  A fire?! Dammit, Riveria is using her powers. That means she was probaly found and is in a fight with an enemy. I’ll have to use the smell to find out their exact location.

  Jack then began running more towards the right area of the forest and smelt around to locate the direction of the smoke and started running deeper into the forest. He heard a loud slam and turned left to find Riveria in a battle with the enemy. Smoke and flames filled the area with burnt and knock over trees everywhere.

  Riveria was running away, using her flames to propel her away but wasnt fast enough to escape the loud wave of sound the blond woman sent towards her. She fell on the ground as the woman walked towards her. Her attempts to conjure flames were futile as the ringing sound the woman emitted disrupted her focus.

  The woman towered over her with a smirk.

  “Goodbye weakling. Feel proud, you will die at the hands of the gorgeous Elizebeth mango-”

  Jack appeared behind the woman now known as Elizabeth and delivered a kick straight to her skull.

  Somehow, the woman lived and even maintained consciousness so she emitted a loud ringing sound to hurt Jack’s ears and disorient him. Unfortunately for her Jack simply walked to her slowly and coldly regardless of the immense pain he should be in. In fact, it was as if the pain couldn’t even register in his body.

  “S-Stay away.” Elizabeth orders as she crawls away. However, Jack did not respond to her words.

  He picked her up by the collar as she desperately tried to escape,turned her around and snapped her neck. Her lifeless body went limp and he dropped her on the ground. Jack sighed and looked at Riveria.

  Riveria looked utterly terrified at what she just witnessed and just stared in complete shock at the dead body in front of her.
