Sammy heard little noises from Adam but did not think he was speaking, she blew it off and continued to follow Yazmina who was currently speaking English. They were nearing the part of the base where the newer recruits practice and train. It was quite busy, but it brought back memories for her because of her intense boot camp. She yawned and kept walking, Yasmina then said to Sammy “We can go over to the stables next, I have to feed Koda anyway”.She nodded and felt Adam tense up, she had a worried expression on and asked Yazmina “Could you ask him why he’s tensing up? Is something wrong?”.She then watched as Yazmina asked him, she started thinking of endless possibilities that could explain it but waited for Yazmina to tell her.
Yazmina told her “he said nothing was wrong so I don’t know”.Sammy rolled her eyes and then started to hear him muttering to himself, she adjusted her grip on him and poked him giving him a look. He waved her off and continued to talk, she left him alone and focused on her surroundings. The sun shined on her face making her wince at the purple sunlight. She looked out into the nearby forest with curiosity. The colorful Blues and reds in the leaves and the tall trees with shades of purple. She smiled and breathed in, she loved being near nature and it was quite calming. They neared the stables she could recognize the large building by its dark blue outline and could hear the roars of her Sorhebi who sensed she was coming near.
Yazmina opened the light gray door for Sammy and closed the door behind her, Sammy looked around and breathed in, she could tell what stall Yelana her sorhebi was in. The stables were pretty nice, the marble floor was white, and the stalls were filled with fluffy blankets and big pillows. The walls had dark blue linings, and light grey filled the main walls. Sammy approached Yelanas stall, yelana jumped up and started wagging her tail. Her pupils are large and her pleading roars to let her out, Sammy smiles and opens the door. Yelena was about to jump on her until she spotted Adam in her arms, Yelena gave Adam a sniff and looked at him weirdly.
Sammy could tell that Yelena wanted to greet her properly, but all she could do was what Sammy liked to call “tippy taps” where Yelena would bounce around on her feet happily. She looked down at Adam who was wide-eyed and in awe. She couldn’t blame him, Yelena was Black with golden splotches along her scales, her wings were massive and her hood had multiple horns. She was much bigger than both of their length and had blue eyes with round pupils. She then heard a crash and looked over to Yazmina who had just opened the stall to Koda. Koda was on top of her and covering her with kisses, Sammy laughed and said to Yazmina “I’m going to take Yelena out for a fly. I promise I’ll be safe”.
Yazmina had gotten up and Koda stood up, still happy and ready to play, she said: “Alrighty, I’m gonna take Koda to his fishing spot”.Sammy nodded and took Yelna outside, she set Adam down for a moment and hugged Yelana saying “Yesss I know, I know I missed you too. We are gonna go on a fly with Adam” Her mind then started to link with Yelana’s and Yelena said, “He smells so weird, where did you get him? and can we meet up with Koda after, I wanna play”. Sammy reached out through the telepathic connection and said “He is from a different planet and I am showing him around, and yes we can meet up with Koda later”.
Sammy then helped Adam onto Yelana’s back, she then got in front of him and looked back at Adam and gave him the notion to Hang on. Sammy and Yazmina were the best fliers on base, they held “fastest flier” and “most accurate shooting from sorhebi” records. As Adam wrapped his hands around her she said to Yelana “Wanna show Adam how fun you can be?”.Yelena growled in response and took off with incredible speed causing Adam to tighten his grip, she laughed and held on as Yelana flew higher into the sky. Once she reached a high point Yelena fell back into a free fall enjoying the thrill.
Sammy yelled out happily while Adam screamed like he was gonna die, she patted Yelana to let her know to pull up. Yelena started to flap her wings, uplifting them from their free fall and Sammy made sure Adam was still conscious. Adam was shaking and had a traumatized face on, he was still conscious thank goodness, Sammy laughed and asked Yelana “Barrel rolls?” and Yelena replied with “Barrel rolls” confirming her excitement. Yelena started to gain altitude once more and once she reached a high enough point she started to dive. Sammy yelled out and Adam just held on for life not making a sound, Yelena then started to twist and roll in the air, Yelena's mouth was forced open by the air hitting them and once she opened her wings lifting them she looked back to Adam. Who was now unconscious and slid off Yelana, she looked down as he fell and told Yelana to dive. At some point Adam was startled awake and started to scream as he fell, sammy and Yelena swooped down and caught him, Sammy had stood up and positioned herself so she could catch him in her arms.
Adam was shaking violently with some pre tears threatening to fall, Sammy gave him a sympathizing face and said “Sorry”, she felt bad for him and soon started to head towards the fishing pond where most sorhebi’s go to at this time. She sat down and Adam who was smaller than her remained in front of her, he was clinging onto her and she couldn’t help but chuckle. She looked down and enjoyed the view of the purple canopy below them, the adrenaline that was pumped into her as Adam fell, started to disappear and she started to calm down.
Suddenly Yelena started sniffing downward, and said “Danger”.Sammy gave a concerned look and before she said anything a creature she knew all too well jumped up at them, it knocked Yelana off of her balance and they started to descend quite fast.
Sammy who started to feel angry, pulled up on the saddle helping the weight shift back so Yelana could find balance. Yelena opened her wings and caught some air, they slowed down but still hit the ground. Yelena landed on her feet but slid a little before stopping. Sammy started to hear the rustling and cries and growls, Yelena started to growl and Sammy who wanted to protect Adam and Yelena got off, adam still clung to her and she released his hands and picked him up. She put him on Yelena and told her “ Take care of Adam and get him far from here, I will take care of the fugato, meet you at the fishing pond”. Adam was shaking and was talking but she couldn’t understand him. She stopped him and pointed away from her in the direction of the fish pond. Yelena took off and she could hear Adam cry out before Yelana flew away. She angled her ears in the direction of the beast, it was feet away and she could hear it circling her. She then saw two red eyes glowing out of the bushes, she spat “Come and get me”.
Yazmina who was playing with Koda finally saw the other sorhebi arrive, as everyone had an hour break to recollect themselves for the day and spend time with their Sorhebi, eat, and bathe if need be. She splashed water on Koda and launched herself at him, she knocked him off his balance and he swatted at her playfully. Landon had landed first, he got off his sorhebi named Levi and went to greet her, “Yazmina, I’m guessing Adam is with Sammy?”.Yasmina nodded and said, “Yeah they went on a little flying exercise, they are gonna join us soon”.Landon nodded and turned back to his sorhebi, To his surprise Levi tackled him into the water.
Yazmina laughed and Koda did the same thing Levi did, Landon laughed back at her and tackled Levi playfully. After a few minutes, she let Koda go catch his fish and she sat down to watch him, landon approached her and said “May I sit with you?”.Yazmina nodded and asked, “What can I help you with”.Landon sighed and said, “I was wondering what you have gotten out of the alien? any key details or giveaways?”. She sat back and said, “Well, Sammy has confirmed that he’s harmless and does not have any special powers, he has not been talking so Sammy is trying to get him more comfortable so we can learn more about where he comes from”.
Landon nodded and then said “Um isn’t that Yelana?”, she looked in the direction he was looking and could see Yelana with Adam on her back. As they got closer she did not sense any sign of her sister so once they landed she ran over there and asked in English, “Adam, where is Sammy?”. Adam looked traumatized as he was shaking and had a look like he had seen a fugato. Adam had gotten down and said, “S..something knocked us down from the sky, a large and long creature with a big snout. Sammy put me on her and I’m guessing is facing that terrifying creature right now. She sent us away”.His voice was shaky and Yasmina knew what he was describing, she looked to London and asked him “Can you send an attack patrol towards Sammy?”. He nodded and called it in on his walkie-talkie.
She then went up to Yelana and told her to go back to Sammy, Yelana took off and headed back in that direction, she looked back at Adam and sighed. “Let's take you back to the base, as you have a lot of questioning ahead of you”. She wished to Koda who was chewing on a fish, he came at her call and let Yazmina and Adam get on. She called Landon and said, “All alright meet y'all at base later, gonna go get some info, and I'll report back”. Landon nodded and beckoned her to go. They took off and Adam clung to her as Koda reached the ideal altitude. Once they got back to base, she put Koda up and led Adam to a room just for him.
She had him sit down and ask “Where do you come from? And why are you here?”.Adam had taken a moment to choose his words carefully, he said “I come from a planet named Earth, One of the leaders of Earth had sent me to ….. sent me here to check if there was life on the planet”.
She was skeptical but wrote it down, she had brought a notebook to write down notes and key to information. She asked, “Does earth consist of your kind only? Or is there more than one Primate?”. Adam said “We are the only intelligent species on the earth, most of them consist of males Yazmina wrote this down and also asked “Who is the leader you mentioned?”.Adam answered “We call her the President, she's a person in power that controls a certain Territory on earth. Her name is Merida”. Adam told her more details about how they work as a planet, he also told her about their traditions. He seemed proud of his planet, she kept notes and gave him a break from questioning. Adam then asked her “Hey, I am a little hungry as I haven’t eaten in a while, if it wouldn’t be a bother can I have something to eat?”.Yazmina said, “Ah sure, let me call Tom, and ill have him bring something”.She got up and opened the door, she raised her voice and said “Toooom, get your ass down here”.
The only reason why Tom was not out playing with his sorhebi was because they always left one person behind at the base, usually picked by a random machine and it was his turn. She heard a faint “for God’s sake” and then some running down the hall. She recognized his grey face and dark blue curly hair, she could tell he was annoyed by the way his pupils were and his blue fluffy tail whipped around in annoyance. Once he stopped and breathed in Yazmina said “I heard that, can you go to the fridge and get our friend here some fruit. He is hungry and It would be great if you could do it”.Tom rolled his eyes and said “Sure sure, let me go get it for you”, he ran back down the hall, and to the right she could faintly hear “Your Majesty”.Yazmina chuckled and went back into the room, where Adam was. Elvis had just woken up, he was brought back with them because Adam did not wanna leave him. Elvis stretched out and looked around, he saw Adam jump up to his lap, and settle down making that purring sound.
Once Tom came back he knocked on the door and Yazmina got up to open the door, he said in a “royal pain in the ass” voice.“Here you go, oh great general, I hope it satisfies thy hunger it would please me so so much”, He bowed and showed the plate of fruit, Yazmina laughed and said back “Hah yes peasant, thank you for your contribution in this trivial task, you will be greatly rewarded with such respect”. She also bowed and put her hand on her chest to express her gratitude. She took the plate and looked back at Adam who had a confused look, he had no idea what they said so it was a little expected. She handed him the plate of berries and crackers, they were called wakaton berries, very sweet but pretty nutritious. Adam was hesitant but took a bite, his eyes lit up, and made an “mmmm” sound.
She smiled and watched him devour his food, Tom turned to her and asked “So what the deal with you and Mr.Landon? I mean he’s so in love with you like-”, Yasmina raised an eyebrow and said, “Landon? really? my boss? no hah you're funny. It’s not possible, we are friends nothing more”.She did not like talking about it, as Landon was her boss and she did not see how they could make it work, she was a Christian and one of the keno’s holidays only consisted of couples that had to participate so she did not want to date right now to go through that drama. She then tried to change the subject, “Okay then what about you and Elizebeth? I can see you are heading to the love boat”.Tom raised his eyebrow and said, “I see you changing the subject, but Elizabeth asked me out yesterday. Pretty excited and I’m going to take her to the Umasakbe grill”.
As they were talking Yasmina kept an eye on Adam and watched his moves, she did not trust him fully yet as he did show up by himself without Sammy on her sorhebi so it made her suspicious. A sudden loud alarm went off, the lights went off and a blue dim replaced the lights. It signaled code blue as someone was trying to hack into their mainframe. She told Adam to stay while they dealt with it, Tom nodded his head to her and they both closed the door and then started to run towards the server room. They skid across the floor as they tuned into a different hallway and ran full speed down to the red door with “staff members only”. Once they reached the door she fumbled with her key card and swiped the card to get in. There was a large screen in the middle of multiple screens on the sides for the workers to update stuff in their system. It was a bluely dimmed room until a message in English flashed on the big screen saying “pre-recorded message”.Tom’s eyes followed it but he couldn’t understand it so he asked: “What does it say?”.Yazmina said “Pre-recorded message, meaning someone hacked in to leave us a message”.
Tom got out on his walkie-talkie, he switched on the channel that broadcasted it to all members, Speaking into it “We have a code Blue, I repeat a code blue. All essential personnel please return to base.” Yazmina did not want to mess with the video until Landon and Landon’s Boss. They both waited about 20 minutes before everyone came rushing into the room. All of the server workers returned to their seats and started to decode where the message came from. Landon rushed to Tom and asked, “What’s going on? Did they bring anything offline?”. Tom simply pointed up to the large screen with the flashing letters “Pre-recorded message”, Landon looked to Yazmina who was talking to one of the server workers, telling them everything. She saw Landon’s stare and looked up to the screen, she said “Oh, it means pre-record message, I’m pretty sure someone is leaving us a message. Do you wanna play the video?”.
Landon nodded and looked at the screen, Yazmina beckoned the worker named Chloe to turn it on, With a click of a button the video started to play. A Black haired lady with blue eyes appeared on the screen, she said with a bone-chilling voice “Hello, I am Merida, Once of many leaders on earth. We had sent a shuttle to make peace with y’all, yet what I have heard has been heat breaking. You have captured one of my own and killed off the rest, This makes you a threat and as such will be dealt with as one. We will be sending another shuttle in a week to retrieve the one you captured, If they don’t come back then it will be seen as a deceleration of war. Again one more time, I will rage war if that shuttle does not come back.”
Everyone looked to Yazmina who was speechless, as the message was in English and she was the only one who spoke English. She looked to Landon and before she got to speak chloe said “I have found the origins of the video, it was sent from a planet called Earth. It’s not too far from our planet.” Yazmina sighed and said “Her name was Merida, she's one of the many leaders from Earth. She somehow found out about how her shuttle was attacked and that we captured Adam. She said she will send another shuttle for Adam and if it does not come back…..She will rage war on Bishingo”.There was a deathly silence in the room as everyone processed what she had said, Landon then said with a chilling voice “Then we must prepare for War”
