Side Chapter: Observatory

“Success!!” Liza cheered at the top of her lungs as she saw the completed results of her hard work materializing in-world.

“Hm? Ohh!!” Rabbit smiled as he saw it also. “The Flying Watchman lives! Good job!”

“Thanks, Rabs! Though I still prefer calling it Liza's Cloud Palace,” the younger GM returned.

“Right,” her friend nodded in reply.

“Oh? Is it done?” Wandreada said, looking at the screen. “Nice work, kiddo! Let's go and test it out, huh?” she smiled.

  “Let's!!” Liza beamed.

The three of them, along with Athena and Forseti, teleported themselves from their usual in-world fastness to the floating observatory that Liza had placed in the clouds. Lately, there had been a rush of players who had begun discovering their base; naturally, this was not ideal for them, but neither did they want to devote resources and time to choosing another location. And so Liza had decided to spend some time designing and implementing a smaller, mobile base of operations that would be practically impossible to find unless invited. They materialized upon the sky-palace moments later, inspecting every part of it to ensure it was fully functional and just as effective as their usual base.

“Leeet's see... rainstorm in the Firelands, go!” Liza said cheekily, and immediately the volcanic region began experiencing sudden onslaughts of rain.

“Of course you would do that first,” Rabbit sighed.

“She's been dying to try that for weeks,” Athena grinned wryly.

  “Hee-hee!” the younger girl grinned.

“All right, all right; switch it off, hon,” Wandreada patted her shoulder.

“Hmm... I'll just send it on a dissipation course to the northeast... that'll give players something to talk about,” she said with a shrug as she implemented the command.

  “Fair enough!” Wandreada nodded.

“Speaking of which, any updates on that dungeon?” Forseti asked.

“Hmm? Ahh, the one in the Hitherlands,” Athena said. “Nothing since a couple nights ago... but it was that guild, so it won't stay idle for long.”

The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

“Those girls did take down that Vault Boss, but they had their friend Dracuoatlax with them.” Rabbit pointed out. “And even if they bring the dragon to that fight...”

“Hm, hm.” Athena nodded in agreement.

“Ha! I see; so you're on Team Lumpstein after all!” Forseti said with a grin.

“Well I'm on Team Queens, then! Though nobody's going to trick me into having a bet on the subject!” Liza declared. Athena smirked as Wandreada affected a bemused smile.

“S-same,” the older woman nodded in agreement.

“Hm? Oh, look at that; our favorite power couple is back online for the first time in a week,” Rabbit remarked as he saw two player-IDs pop up on one of the monitors.

“Ahh!! You're right!” Athena said excitedly.

“Oh-ho, finally back, are they?” Forseti smiled. “Well, time to buckle up and get ready for a show,” he added.

“Let's move in closer to see the action!” Liza said as she commanded the floating citadel she had made to head towards the north.

“What's this now?” Lumpstein said as he and Ricklelopes emerged onto the scene.

“Hiya, goons!” Wandreada called to them.

“Ah, shush,” Ricklelopes grinned back. Wildthunder then appeared as well, along with another GM named Flutters, a female pixie.

“Testing it out, I see; good work on making it functional!” the Scotsman smiled to the youngest of their team, who beamed back as she flashed a victory-sign to him. “Where are we heading?”

“Well, hopefully, we're on our way to a show... all of the Silvernight Queens are on,” Rabbit told him.

“Hmm... I see,” Wildthunder said as he took a seat.

“Those girls are something; but I'm excited to see what Jannie and her Lightbrook Brigade have done up there!” Flutters smiled.

“The Guardians of the Eternal Citadel haven't slouched off either,” Athena said, “But TLB has definitely entrenched themselves.”

“The 'Queens have the quest, though,” Lumpstein remarked, “And if they're all on at this hour of the day...”

“They're likely making a move on the dungeon they found a couple days ago,” Forseti nodded.

“Heh-heh!” the dwarf GM grinned broadly. “I'll get the popcorn!” he said, stalking off to a side-room to do just that.

“And I'll get the punch!” Flutters added as she flew after him.

“You think they'll really go after it?” Rabbit said to Forseti.

“From what I've learned about them over the past few months, I wouldn't doubt it in the slightest,” the other returned as he gazed ahead, smiling to himself.

  Good luck, ladies!
