Lost face!
After having his assistant arrange for Wang Zhengyu to take a rest, Xu Yihong sat in his office and fell into deep thought. After hesitating for a full ten minutes, Xu Yihong picked up the phone and dialed out, "Hello, Director Chen..."
An hour later, Wang Zhengyu's laptop and U-disk had been passed around twice before being placed on the office desk of Qian Xiaohua, the head of the National System Research Working Group.
For Qian Xiaohua, overtime has become the norm. Although it is already 8 pm now, he still stays in his laboratory, and outside his office, there are also a group of tech geeks who are busy at their desks.
In fact, when he was informed by phone that Qihoo 360 had recommended a brand new operating system and wanted his lab to test it, he originally intended to refuse directly. He didn't plan to waste his precious time on those who didn't know what they were doing.
Taking someone else's open-source system, carefully modifying it, and then claiming it as their own developed system to deceive people for money is not something Qian Xiaohua hasn't encountered before. Many large companies have done this before. However, when he found out that the developer of this operating system was also the creator of the voice-controlled smart home system, Qian Xiaohua immediately changed his mind.
In fact, he has been studying Wang Zhengyu's voice-controlled smart pipe house these days. Although it is just an APP used on mobile phones, Qian Xiaohua became more and more horrified as he delved deeper into the research.
The reason is simple, this software has become too intelligent.
Perhaps in the eyes of ordinary people, this software is just very convenient, fun and fashionable. But in Qian Xiaohua's view, the technological connotation contained therein is too sufficient.
You know that in modern society, the two words "intelligence" have been used to death. So-called intelligent mobile phones, intelligent computers, and intelligent chatbots, are they really intelligent? Bullshit.
Being able to access the internet on a computer is called a smartphone, being able to randomly respond to some nonsense is called an intelligent chatbot, which is actually not scientific. So-called intelligence actually refers to the machine's ability to analyze, judge and handle human ambiguous problems. Enabling software to process human ambiguous problems, with current programming technology, can be said to be more difficult than landing on the moon.
Let me give you a very simple example. You say hello to a chatbot, and under the program's settings, it will respond with a hello as well, which is normal. But if you ask it "hello, have you eaten shit today?", it will give you a bunch of nonsense in keyword form.
However, the smartphone butler developed by Wang Zhengyu is different. Qian Xiaohua tried asking the smartphone butler some ambiguous questions, such as the previous one, "Hello, have you eaten poop today?" The response from the smartphone butler was: "Ugh, disgusting! I don't want to talk to you anymore!"
This shows that the software has already had a certain degree of fuzzy problem processing ability. It can judge the true meaning of this question and make a human-like response, which is the real artificial intelligence. Although some more complex problems, such as autonomous learning, the performance of this software is not satisfactory, but at least it has possessed primary intelligence.
He was able to do so, and the software was controlled at over 200 megabytes. Qian Xiaohua knew that his R&D team could not develop similar software. So Qian Xiaohua had already admired the developer of this software, and naturally he was full of expectations for the operating system provided by the same developer.
And now when facing this laptop, Qian Xiaohua even felt a long-lost excitement.
Qian Xiaohua took a deep breath, first inserting the U-disk into the computer and carefully reading through the introduction to the Longtan operating system. Afterwards, Qian Xiaohua copied an installation package for the Longtan operating system and noted down one of the activation codes provided on the U-disk before walking out of his office.
"Everyone put down what you're doing first!" Qian Xiaohua said loudly.
Although it was already after working hours, most of the programmers in the lab were still there, and they all looked up at Qian Xiaohua, who was holding a laptop.
"Little Liu, connect this laptop to our internal network and organize a team to try to invade this computer; Little Zhang, I have an installation package and activation code for an operating system here, find a computer to install it well and try to see if you can do reverse compilation on this system."
The two people named by Qian Xiaohua walked forward, one of whom took the U-disk from Qian Xiaohua's hand and left directly. The other, Xiao Liu, who took the laptop from Qian Xiaohua's hand, opened the screen and muttered: "I said, Qian Gong, aren't you joking with us? This is just a normal win7, and we're supposed to hack into the intranet? We can knock it down in ten minutes!"
Qian Xiaohua's "Little Liu" is actually named Liu Chengwei. The name may be ordinary, but in the Huaxia hacker circle, he has an extraordinary nickname - "Fat Wolf". His main job used to be helping big companies do system security testing, and it can be said that he was one of the most powerful hackers in all of Huaxia's invasion technology.
"So confident? Alright, show me what you're made of. Ten minutes is too little, I'll give you half an hour! If you can really break this system, I'll treat everyone to a midnight snack tonight." Qian Xiaohua said with a smirk.
Although he hasn't personally tried out the Long Shield operating system to see if it's as powerful as the documentation claims, he believes that programmers who can create software like voice-controlled smart home devices won't produce something completely useless for him.
"Hey, everyone heard that, Qian Gong is going to make a big splash today, so let's all put in some extra effort!" Liu Chengwei exclaimed happily, then walked towards the operation table at the front of the lab where the projector was located, carrying his laptop.
Before connecting his laptop to the lab's internal network, Liu Chengwei still played it safe and operated on Wang Zhengyu's laptop for a while. Caution is one of the qualities that a hacker must have, and for super hackers like Liu Chengwei, caution has already been ingrained in their bones.
So although it seemed like this was indeed the Win 7 operating system, Liu Chengwei still checked again. After all, seeing Qian Xiaohua's confident appearance made him suspicious.
Unfortunately, due to limited time, he did not restart the system and was unaware of the hotkeys for Longtu operating system. He didn't find anything unusual. All he could confirm was that it was indeed Win 7, or at least a Win 7 that hadn't been patched in over three months. There wasn't even any security software installed on the system.
Liu Chengwei, despite his inner doubts, quickly connected the projector and projected the laptop screen onto the white curtain behind him. He then called over a group of programmers who usually collaborated with him on system testing and began to divide tasks.
"I've checked the system, it's Win7 Home Basic, intranet IP 192.168.3.188. You all heard Qian Gong's request, get this computer done. We don't need to divide tasks for this one, everyone just do their own thing, whoever finishes first gets to choose where we go for midnight snacks tonight!" Liu Chengwei said with a wave of his hand.
He didn't plan to get personally involved in this non-technical matter, he had just finished designing a data processing module for an analytical software and was about to do some testing.
"Qian Gong, isn't this a waste of our time? Can't we just settle on a Win7 in no time? We still have an unpublished vulnerability for Win7."
"Alright, let's settle this once and for all!"
A group of people murmured and returned to their respective positions.
Just a few minutes later, everyone's face started to brighten up.
"I'm telling you, Liu, are you sure this laptop's operating system is Win 7? The feedback data doesn't match at all!" Someone finally spoke out.
Liu Chengwei, who was concentrating on typing code, was taken aback by the words and looked up. He then discovered that his brothers were all looking at him with different expressions.
"How is it possible? Let me take a look?" Liu Chengwei stood up and walked over to the computer of a colleague who was closest to him.
The computer was running a scanning software they used when they invaded, and the result of the scan left him stunned.
There is no open application service, no application vulnerability including the operating system, and nothing but an open port for sending messages. Ironically, this open port cannot even obtain the service software and its version, and even from the code feedback of the software, the operating system on that laptop is not Win7 at all.
"How could this be? Didn't you turn on internal network data monitoring?"
"Open!"
"Send me the broadcast data of this computer!" Liu Chengwei became serious, directly gesturing to his busy colleague to give up his position, and he himself sat down with a plop.
Tampering with data packets, attacking ICMP packets, forging information from routers...
Unconsciously, half an hour had passed Liu Chengwei was already drenched in sweat, but still didn't have a clue.
A group of programmers had already put down their work and gathered around Liu Chengwei.
"Zhang Bin, go use that computer to log in to our mail server and send me an email!" Liu Chengwei suddenly said.
A commotion all around, this is going to be a cheat!
After the shock, it's even more astonishing now. Nobody thinks that there is only one Win7 system installed on this laptop. Everyone has seen Liu Chengwei's invasion techniques and nobody thinks they can do better than him. Many of their fanciful ideas have made them exclaim in admiration.
But it had no effect on the computer placed on the projector!
What's going on here?
"What are you still dazing about? Hurry up and go!" Liu Chengwei raised his head to see Zhang Bin hadn't moved his feet, and couldn't help but urge him.
"Hey, Liu Ge, Qian Gong is watching, isn't it a bit too obvious for us to cheat like this?" Zhang Bin said hesitantly.
Liu Chengwei was taken aback, looked up at Qian Xiaohua who was watching them busily not far away, gritted his teeth and said in a low voice: "We've lost face already, what's good or bad? Go quickly!"
