Mobius Lidou walked to his desk, sat down, opened a blank book, and picked up his pen to write: Manzhu Shahua.
He looked up at the potted Manzhu Shahua beside the desk, smiled, then lowered his head to keep writing.
At the end of the distant galaxy lies a brilliant star field. In the heart of this star field floats a planet brimming with magic and miracles—Lidou Star.
The world is ruled by two mighty clans.
The Radiant Clan holds the Daylight Continent, cloaked in silvery radiance, governing the order of the stars. They believe in light and uphold valor and martial prowess. Their territory is eternal day, with no night or darkness.
The Night Shadow Clan dwells deep within the Eternal Night Ancient Forest on the Eternal Night Continent—an endless ancient black forest. They embody the mysterious light of dark shadows, guarding the borders of the night, abiding by tranquility, and taking protection as their sacred duty. The dense forest is shrouded in dimness all year round.
The two clans are divided by Destiny Mountain.
The mountain top is wreathed in mist and clouds, covered with blooming flowers, and the air is filled with their delicate fragrance.
Lumin Eternity, heir to the Radiant Clan, has flowing silver hair and eyes brimming with love. He gazed affectionately at Nox Eternity, heir to the Night Shadow Clan.
Nox’s raven-black hair is like the silent night, gentle and enchanting. “By Lidou. I am with you. Always.”
Nox met his gaze: “By Lidou.”
The two embraced tightly.
The wind drifted through the sea of flowers, brushing their hair and robes, and blowing far into the distance.
Deep within the Radiant Clan’s territory, in the residence of Envy Solis. A personal guard bowed and reported: “Your Highness Lumin and Nox, heir to the Night Shadow Clan, are meeting in secret on Destiny Mountain.”
Envy Solis turned around, his eyes cold and sharp. “Go. Make it clean.” The personal guard bowed, retreated outside the door, and left.
At the foot of Destiny Mountain.
Lumin and Nox walked hand in hand.
Lumin looked at her tenderly: “Soon, we will be together forever.” Nox lowered her head, smiled, and nodded.
She leaped onto her horse, glanced back at him, and rode toward the Eternal Night Ancient Forest.
Lumin stood rooted to the spot, watching her figure vanish into the distance before mounting his horse and heading back.
No sooner had Nox ridden out of the Radiant Clan’s border than a cold arrow struck her straight in the heart. Her body stiffened instantly, and she fell off her horse.
Masked personal guards approached, bent down to check her breath, and quietly left after confirming her death.
Lumin returned to the Radiant Clan’s territory, and as soon as he stepped into the main hall, the clan leader stepped forward and hugged him tightly.
“My child.”
“Father.”
The clan leader nodded and said: “You went to see the heir of the Night Shadow Clan? That girl is wonderful.”
Lumin nodded and smiled.
“I am getting old. It is time to entrust the great responsibilities of the clan to you.” The clan leader patted him on the shoulder.
In the main hall of the Night Shadow Clan.
The clan leader stared at his daughter’s cold body, filled with grief and anger: “Gather the Shadow Guards.”
Deep within the Radiant Clan’s territory, in the residence of Envy Solis.
He gazed intently at the territory map of the two clans hanging on the wall.
A personal guard entered and bowed his head to report: “It is all done, clean and neat.”
Envy Solis turned around with a smile and stepped close to him. He drew a dagger and stabbed it fiercely into the guard’s chest.
The guard’s face was filled with disbelief as he fell to the ground.
Envy Solis stared down at the corpse: “Only the dead can keep secrets.”
In the main hall of the Radiant Clan.
A personal guard rushed in in a panic.
“Clan Leader! Your Highness! The clan leader of the Night Shadow Clan is leading a large army in person, and they are approaching our clan’s border!”
The father and son were stunned.
The clan leader shouted loudly: “Gather the army!”
On the plain at the foot of Destiny Mountain, the two armies faced each other in a standoff.
The clan leader of the Night Shadow Clan roared with anger: “My daughter met you in secret, and she died on her way back home!”
A Night Shadow guard stepped forward and pushed Nox’s body out. Lumin could not believe what he saw. He rushed forward and knelt beside her.
Staring at her cold face, his heart was torn with unbearable pain. His trembling fingertips caressed her cheek gently.
“Nox... Nox...”
He raised his eyes, looking at the woman in his arms with a firm gaze. “By Lidou. I am with you. Always.”
He drew the dagger from his waist and stabbed it fiercely into his own heart. His body fell into Nox’s arms.
The soldiers of both clans flew into a rage.
War swept across Lidou Star, with corpses strewn everywhere and rivers of blood flowing.
And the instigator of all this—Envy Solis, stood on a high place, silently watching the catastrophe he had brought about with his own hands.
The great war came to an end.
Envy Solis seized control of the Radiant Clan successfully and became the most celebrated epic leader in the history of the Radiant bloodline.
He tampered with history, blaming all the crimes on the Night Shadow Clan, claiming that the Night Shadow Clan had killed Lumin Eternity with despicable means.
The war between the two clans lasted for ten thousand years.
Ten thousand years later.
At the border of Destiny Mountain.
A patrol team of the Radiant Clan encountered a patrol team of the Night Shadow Clan, and a fierce battle broke out immediately. In the chaos, Manzhu Eternity and Shahua Eternity fought fiercely against each other.
The light sword clashed with the shadow blade. Manzhu’s wrist shook, sending the light sword upward, and with one strike, he lifted the veil off Shahua’s face.
Manzhu froze in shock when he saw her stunningly beautiful face.
Shahua’s eyes turned cold. She kicked Manzhu hard and knocked him to the ground, then leaped forward and pressed him down, pointing her shadow blade at his forehead—but she could not bring herself to strike down.
Once, twice, three times. She could not pierce his forehead after all.
Manzhu lay on the ground, staring at her.
Shahua suddenly withdrew her blade, turned around, and rushed into the shadows.
Manzhu came to his senses and stood up with the support of his sword. Staring in the direction she had left, his heart filled with confusion, then he turned and left.
In the territory of the Night Shadow Clan.
Clan Leader Kaelis Eternity hurried forward to greet her: “Shahua, are you alright?”
“I am fine.”
“Do not leave the territory. It is far too dangerous.”
Shahua nodded and turned back to her residence.
She sat at the desk, raised her hand, and stared at her own palm: “Why?”
In the territory of the Radiant Clan.
Manzhu returned to his room and collapsed onto the bed, his mind replaying the scene at the border over and over again. “Why?”
The door was pushed open.
Manzhu looked up and saw Pride Solis, the clan leader of the Radiant Clan, walking in. He quickly stood up and saluted.
Pride Solis waved his hand and said: “There is a mission for you—sneak into the Night Shadow Clan and assassinate their clan leader, Kaelis Eternity.”
Manzhu looked up in surprise, then lowered his head: “Yes, my lord.”
The clan leader glanced at him, turned around, and walked out of the room, a cold smile playing on his lips.
Manzhu collapsed onto the bed again, his mind in a turmoil.
He packed his clothes, rode his horse out of the territory, and headed straight for the depths of Destiny Mountain.
He defected from the Radiant Clan.
Pride Solis stared at the map in the main hall when a personal guard came to report: “The Night Shadow Clan is calm and peaceful, and Manzhu Eternity has defected.”
Pride Solis smiled. “Send several teams to find him and kill him.”
The personal guard bowed his head to receive the order and exited the main hall.
Shahua led a team on patrol and happened to see several Radiant Clan soldiers hurrying toward the border of the two clans.
Shahua whispered to a clansman: “Hurry back and call for reinforcements!”
Before she could finish her words, she rushed forward and fought with them, with magical sword lights crisscrossing the air.
Shahua had far too few men with her and gradually could not hold on. “Retreat!”
She turned and ran toward the depths of Destiny Mountain, with the Radiant Clan soldiers chasing closely behind.
Shahua was quick and agile, assassinating the enemy one by one, but the enemy fought in tight groups of three, cooperating seamlessly.
She gradually fell into a disadvantage, and a sword stabbed her in the shoulder.
Manzhu heard the commotion, immediately became alert, and hid with his sword in hand.
Shahua had just defeated three enemies when more than a dozen others rushed out and surrounded her.
She gripped her shadow blade, gasping for breath, and could only continue fighting.
Manzhu hid in a concealed place and watched everything.
When Shahua was stabbed in the arm by a soldier again and her shadow blade fell to the ground, he rushed out and defeated all the soldiers in an instant.
Shahua covered her wound and stood there in a daze.
Manzhu walked toward her, slightly out of breath.
At that moment, a fallen soldier behind Shahua suddenly stood up and stabbed his sword toward her back.
Manzhu pulled Shahua into his arms and protected her tightly in front of his body.
The long sword stabbed fiercely into his body.
Shahua reacted instantly, snatched the sword from Manzhu’s hand, and stabbed the soldier to death with one strike.
Manzhu collapsed slowly beside a tree.
Shahua walked up to him and asked: “Why?”
Manzhu looked at her and shook his head gently: “Only heaven knows.”
Shahua stared at him, her hand gripping the sword tightening again and again. After struggling repeatedly, she finally put the sword down.
She walked up to him, helped him turn over, grasped the sword that had pierced his body, then picked up a piece of tree trunk and handed it to his mouth.
Manzhu clenched the tree trunk between his teeth and stared at her.
Shahua took a deep breath, grasped the hilt of the sword, and pulled it out slowly.
Manzhu’s face contorted in pain, and he let out a low, agonized roar.
At the moment the sword was pulled out, he let out a long breath and fainted.
When he woke up again, he was already in a cave.
Shahua sat beside a bonfire.
Seeing him wake up, Shahua picked up a water bag and walked over to feed him some water. She then tore off a piece of roasted rabbit meat from the fire and fed it to him bite by bite.
Manzhu stared at her breathtakingly beautiful face and said: “Thank you.”
Shahua looked up at him and said: “I should leave now.”
She stood up and walked toward the cave entrance.
Manzhu stopped her: “Wait, I still do not know your name.”
Shahua turned to look at him: “Shahua Eternity.”
“And you?”
“Manzhu Eternity.”
Shahua smiled and turned around, walking out of the cave.
Manzhu stood there in a daze for a long time.
The next day, Manzhu woke up and tried to stand up, but his wound was pulled, and he fell back in pain, gasping for breath heavily.
Shahua walked in.
Their eyes met.
She walked up to him with a cloth bag and squatted down, opening it to reveal herbs and gauze inside.
She untied the old gauze, glanced at Manzhu, and tore it off suddenly.
“Ugh-!”
Sweat soaked Manzhu’s clothes from the pain, and he gasped for air sharply.
Shahua looked at him, lowered her head and smiled, then immediately regained her cold expression, focusing on applying herbs to his wound and wrapping it with a new bandage. She took out food and fed him.
You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story.
Manzhu ate quietly, but his gaze never left her face for a moment.
Shahua dodged his eyes, refusing to make eye contact with him. Only the sound of their silent breathing filled the cave.
Suddenly, Manzhu reached out and hooked his arm around her neck, trying to kiss her.
Shahua raised her hand and slapped him hard across the face.
Manzhu was hit so hard that he fell back onto the haystack, and his wound was pulled again, making his whole body tremble in pain and gasp for air.
Shahua did not look at him, turned around, and walked out of the cave. Outside the cave, she smiled and shook her head, then turned and walked toward the territory of the Night Shadow Clan.
A month passed, and Manzhu’s wound had healed completely.
He was practicing swordsmanship not far from the cave entrance when he caught sight of Shahua walking toward him. He immediately put away his sword and smiled at her.
Shahua smiled back, but the next second she drew her shadow blade and slashed straight at him.
The two fought fiercely in an instant, with swords and shadow blades intertwining, and it was hard to tell who would win.
Shahua suddenly left a loophole on purpose.
Manzhu was shocked to see this, and quickly shifted to the right to stab her, but he froze his movement abruptly.
Shahua counterattacked suddenly and knocked the sword out of his hand.
Manzhu stared in a daze, then shook his head and laughed, bending down to pick up the sword and put it back into its sheath.
Shahua laughed with him too.
The two walked side by side toward the cave.
Inside the cave, the two sat beside the bonfire.
Manzhu stared at her intently, and the firelight cast a particularly soft and charming glow on her face.
Shahua looked up and saw him staring at her, so she tore off a rabbit leg and threw it to him.
Manzhu reached out quickly to catch it and took a bite, but his gaze still lingered on her face.
Shahua said nothing more, tore off a piece of rabbit meat, and put it into her mouth silently, lowering her head.
After finishing their meal, the two put out the bonfire and walked out of the cave together.
As soon as they stepped outside, there was a sudden commotion in the distance.
Shahua became alert instantly, grabbed Manzhu’s hand, and hid in a concealed place.
A group of Radiant Clan warriors arrived at the cave entrance, leaving two men to guard outside while the rest went inside to search.
A soldier walked up to the extinguished bonfire, flicked the ashes with his sword, glanced at the haystack nearby, checked it, then walked out of the cave and led his team away.
When the soldiers were far away, Shahua turned to look at Manzhu, only to find him still staring straight at her.
She was both angry and annoyed, raising her hand and elbowing him hard. “Hmm!”
Manzhu let out a painful cry.
Shahua stood up, her tone turning cold: “They will find you sooner or later.”
Manzhu shook his head and smiled: “Where else can I go?”
Shahua frowned and said nothing more.
In the main hall of the Radiant Clan.
Pride Solis was staring at the unfolded map.
A personal guard entered, knelt on one knee, and reported: “My lord, traces of human habitation have been found near Destiny Mountain. It is highly likely that Manzhu Eternity is hiding there! Should we send men immediately to wipe out this traitor?”
Pride Solis did not look back and said coldly: “You lead the men there in person.”
Shahua walked out of Destiny Mountain and looked up to see the pursuers of the Radiant Clan coming toward her.
Her face changed suddenly. She turned around, grabbed Manzhu’s wrist, and pulled him to run toward the depths of the mountain forest.
“The pursuers are coming! Run!”
The wind whistled in their ears, and the grass and trees rustled as their swift figures swept past.
The two ran side by side, with the pursuers chasing closely behind.
Manzhu grabbed Shahua’s wrist with his backhand and led her toward a narrow crevice on the side of a cliff.
The two squeezed into the crevice, having to stand face to face and close to each other, feeling each other’s heartbeats clearly. Their breath brushed against each other’s faces.
Silence surrounded them.
Manzhu lowered his eyes and stared at her quietly.
Shahua turned her head away, refusing to look into his eyes.
Footsteps could be heard from the rock above their heads—
The pursuers were standing on the cliff edge above them, looking around into the distance.
The two dared not move, staring at each other in silence.
The sound of horse hooves faded away.
Manzhu still stared at Shahua without blinking.
Shahua moved slightly and squeezed out of the cliff crevice sideways.
Manzhu followed her out immediately.
Shahua glanced at him, said nothing, and turned to leave.
Manzhu stood there, staring at her departing figure.
Shahua returned to the territory of the Night Shadow Clan all the way.
Clan Leader Kaelis Eternity called her over: “Have you fallen in love?” Shahua shook her head.
Kaelis stepped closer and said: “You cannot deceive me.”
Shahua said nothing more and walked down to her room with her head lowered.
The clan leader’s voice came from behind: “Who is he?”
Shahua did not answer.
At that moment, a personal guard walked over quickly.
Kaelis Eternity shot him a cold glance and ordered in a low voice: “Follow her. I want to know where she goes and who she meets.”
The personal guard bowed his head to salute and retreated.
In the main hall of the Radiant Clan.
Pride Solis looked up at his personal guard and said: “Gather twenty thousand men and search the mountain.”
The personal guard received the order and was about to retreat. “Wait.”
A cold curve formed on Pride Solis’s lips: “I will go in person.”
The personal guard bowed his head to receive the order and retreated quickly.
Shahua approached Destiny Mountain.
In the dark, the personal guard of the Night Shadow Clan who had been ordered to follow her was watching from a distance with a team of Shadow Guards.
They were about to follow her when the ground suddenly trembled violently.
They saw the large army of the Radiant Clan, their silver-white armors reflecting a dazzling light, heading toward Destiny Mountain.
The personal guard’s face changed suddenly, and he immediately whispered to the Shadow Guards beside him: “Hurry! Go back and report to the clan leader!”
The Shadow Guards received the order, turned around, and ran back to the territory of the Night Shadow Clan like crazy.
Manzhu leaned against the cave entrance and saw Shahua walking over. He immediately stood up and walked quickly to her.
The two stared at each other quietly.
Manzhu raised his hand, brushed the hair from her forehead gently, and his fingertips caressed her cheek, his gaze gentle yet firm.
This time, Shahua did not dodge, staring back at him.
The personal guard of the Night Shadow Clan and the Shadow Guards appeared from the dark. As soon as they saw Manzhu, they drew their shadow blades immediately.
Shahua turned her head and shouted coldly: “Step back!”
The personal guard was stunned, and could only bow his head to salute: “Your Highness Shahua, the large army of the Radiant Clan has arrived at the foot of Destiny Mountain. We must leave immediately!”
Shahua’s face changed suddenly. She grabbed Manzhu’s hand and turned to run.
The personal guard was confused, but could only follow closely with the Shadow Guards.
Kaelis Eternity stood up immediately to greet the Shadow Guard who ran back in a panic.
“What happened?”
The Shadow Guard knelt on one knee to salute and reported anxiously: “My lord, the Radiant Clan has sent their entire army to the border at Destiny Mountain! Her Highness Shahua has entered the mountain!”
Kaelis’s face turned cold. “Gather all the Shadow Guards immediately!”
She rushed out at a fast pace.
Pride Solis led the large army to the foot of Destiny Mountain, a cold smile playing on his lips. “Surround Destiny Mountain and wipe out everything in it for me!”
With an order, he stepped forward and walked straight toward the mountain top.
At this moment, Manzhu and Shahua were driven into a desperate situation.
The entire foot of the mountain had already been surrounded tightly by the army, with no way to escape.
Manzhu looked at Shahua in front of him, his voice low and deep: “Hurry and hide. They are after me only.”
Shahua said nothing, only gripping his hand tightly, never letting go again.
Kaelis Eternity led the large army of Shadow Guards to arrive, and at a glance saw the Radiant Clan troops that had surrounded the entire mountain. Her eyes turned red instantly. She drew her sword first and rushed out, shouting sternly: “Kill!”
When the two clans met, their anger flared up, and a fierce battle broke out in an instant.
In the chaos, Kaelis Eternity led the elite Shadow Guards in person, tearing open a gap forcefully and charging straight toward the mountain top!
Manzhu saw Pride Solis leading the Radiant Clan warriors up to the mountain top.
The Shadow Guards beside him drew their shadow blades instantly and stood firmly in front of Shahua and Manzhu.
Pride Solis’s gaze fell on Manzhu, and a cold smile curled up at the corner of his mouth: “You dare to betray the clan. Do you know your fate?”
Manzhu looked at him and shook his head with a bitter smile.
“I will not let you die an easy death.”
Pride Solis raised his staff, his voice cold and majestic: “In the name of Eternity, by the power of the Radiant Clan—I curse Manzhu Eternity to be a prisoner of light for all eternity, a nourishment for the Radiant Clan!”
A dazzling curse light swept across Manzhu instantly.
He pushed Shahua away forcefully: “Hurry and go!”
But he was swallowed up by the strong light.
“No-!”
Shahua let out a roar and plunged into the light, embracing him tightly.
Manzhu shouted anxiously: “Don’t!” But it was too late.
Shahua held him tightly, her eyes showing no flinching at all.
The curse began to ravage her body wildly.
“No!”
Kaelis Eternity finally led the Shadow Guards up to the mountain top and witnessed this scene, her eyes splitting with anger.
She raised her wand immediately and roared with the power of life: “In the name of Eternity, by the power of darkness—Lift the curse!”
Darkness surged out and collided fiercely with the curse of light.
Behind the two, half was extreme darkness and half was extreme light, confronting each other with a thunderous force.
Manzhu looked at Shahua: “By Lidou. I am with you. Always.”
Shahua stared at Manzhu with firm eyes: “By Lidou.”
The two embraced and kissed each other.
This kiss became eternal.
The power of light and darkness collided, and their bodies gradually turned into scattered light spots, drifting on every inch of the land of Destiny Mountain.
An endless sea of red flowers bloomed on the mountain and the fields in an instant. Flowers bloom and leaves fall, leaves fall and flowers bloom!
The soldiers of the two clans at the foot of the mountain all stopped, staring at this scene in a daze.
From then on, Lidou Star was no longer half eternal day and half eternal night.
The light fades away, and night falls; the night dissipates, and the light returns. Day and night alternate, cycling endlessly for all eternity.
Outside Lidou Star, in the void, a young man opened his eyes slowly.
He looked at the sea of red flowers and the new cycle of day and night on this planet, and spoke softly:
All know the flower of the other shore,
Blooms with no leaves, leaves grow with no blooms.
Who can see the love of the same root,
Deeply rooted, never to be torn apart.
For a thousand years, it has been a tale of woe,
Sorrow whispered in the Underworld.
Today I take up my pen to write the truth,
Faithful to love, faithful to its name.
I, Mobius Lidou, in the name of the Star Soul, bestow my testimony upon it.
