Book 1 Completed - The Future of the Story

Hello readers, thanks for giving my story a chance.

I wrote book 1 of RMD (Rise of the Martial Dao) during the months of March to July/August of 2025, bringing me back from 1.2 years of hiatus on my other main story. It was an experience I genuinely enjoyed. Alas, I have to shift focus to that other main story in order to practice my storytelling skills further. This book didn't perform as well as I would've liked it to, so the main priority is to finish other books before I look back at this one.

Thus, this story will enter hiatus and will be stubbed in the future, a necessity since I paid for the cover and would like to recoup costs. Until then, book 1 will remain available.

There's a chance I may pick this up again depending on a surge in motivation for writing Xianxia or if the Amazon launch performs well enough to recoup costs for two separate covers. I can't wager on that, so unfortunately future plans remain nebulous.

A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.

I was going to do more of a writeup/retrospective like some other authors I read, but I'm still in burnout/lazy February mode and it's way past midnight, so I won't take too long. This book was focused on the application of power and the development of progression skills in my writing. I also read a bunch of Xianxia with the MC as a sect master, which really fueled the desire to write one of my own. Combined with several martial arts novels and good memories of proficiency systems, I birthed a story aimed towards those types of Xianxia novels, introducing lengthy time for breakthroughs in order to try and control power spikes and world development over time.

Plot lines and book endings were based off of reaching the next realm and its effects. Book 2 would focus on Foundation Establishment and the martial arts equivalent, continuing with each book up until the tenth realm. Ambitious, to say the least.

I hope to introduce more world-spanning mysteries next time. One thing I really found myself enjoying recently were calamities and schemes of higher-realm beings, and I think it would've helped drive up the scale of the story. I'm kinda bad at coming up with schemes like the ones I've read about, so that's certainly something to work on in the future.

As always, thank you for reading. Until next time.
