  He jolted from his seat, breathing heavily. But when he was calming down from the adrenaline, he saw that he was back in the lobby of the prison. He saw many guards looking at him strangely. So he opted to sit back down on the seat. He covered his forehead with his hand to escape the embarrassment.

  After a few moments, he gathered up his emotions and stood up, again with more determination. He stretched a bit as well because he was a bit stiff from resting on that chair.

  So he started to stretch his arms first, which made him feel pleasant and happy to hear the pops and cracks in his body being released.

  “Good stuff”

  He muttered under his breath. He saw a particular man who was walking towards him, who was wearing a suit and tie. Justin saw that their hair was losing their colour. The blacks of their hair were slowly fading into grey.

  He noticed that the person was waving at him, and he was smiling happily like he was meeting a family member who hadn’t been around for ages

  “Justin, why are you here?”

  Justin heard the bloke say to him.

  “I need help, Mr. Nightingale”

  Justin said back, rubbing his head.

  “What with?”

  “And you know that you don’t need to call me Mr Nightingale. Since you’re my daughter’s fiancé so please call me Carl”

  Justin heard Carl say, and he nodded at him, feeling stupid for not calling him by his first name. He locked his eyes on Carl’s amethyst eyes. And coughed to get himself together.

  “Well, I have a problem”

  Justin said while gesturing awkwardly, like he was confessing a crime

  “My new apprentice went rogue and went out on her own and battled some bandits to rescue a hostage that they had. But when I got there, I saw.”

  Justin stopped himself from divulging that Skyler strangled his daughter.

  “What did you see?”

  Carl said to Justin, wanting more information. Increasing his voice to get more presence. Justin gulped and clapped his hands together.

  “Well, when I got there, I saw that they were strangling the hostage that a bandit captured when we were at the aqua lawyer's office.”

  Justin saw Carl widening his eyes and stepped back in shock at what he said.

  “So what do you need?”

  Carl said while gesturing to Justin to follow. And he did follow him, he was trying to keep pace with Carl, but he had a faster pace than him

  “The cell that I placed them in to show that if they do that again, then they will be permanently there instead of being a protector”

  They reached a wooden door, and Carl took the handle and pushed it open. He then stepped to the side to let Justin pass

  “Thanks Carl”

  Justin said while sitting in the chair in front of the desk.

  “No problem”

  Carl replied and shut the door and went to the chair behind the desk and put his hands under his chin.

  “So who is the vigilante’s name?”

  He asked curiously and leaned forward intrigued what Justin will say

  “Her name is Skyler amberlight but the weird thing about her that the bandits keep calling her the keeper of eclipse”

  Justin said while shrugging like he hasn’t got a clue what it means.

  “And every time that I ask about it to Skyler she brushes me off even though I’m her trainer”

  He sighed and leaned back in his chair frustrated at Skyler’s actions and wanting that she would come clean with what she is hiding.

  Carl could see Justin’s frustration and placed a hand on his shoulder gently but firmly

  “Then what are you doing here? if you got her in custody and in a cell. You don’t need permission since I already sent officers to her cell to bring her to the interrogation room”

  Carl said with a smirk like a devil which made Justin confused since he only brought Skyler in, about an hour ago.

  “How did you?”

  Justin asked

  “I have my ways of knowing in this line of work you need to be prepared for anything”

  Carl responded

  “It will take a while to unlock her from the muffler since I have the access code to unlock it”

  Justin nodded and saw Carl get up and went to the door

  “Just go to the interrogation room it’s in the middle of the building I will meet you there”

  Carl said to Justin and left him in his office.

  The sound of grinding metal awoke Skyler from her slumber and tried to stretch but remembered that she was restrained with her forearms tied behind her back with leather straps that ran down her back from the collar around her neck.

  Also she couldn’t see due to the blindfold over her eyes to stop her from using her Umbra magic.

  She heard a footsteps then a gruff voice in front of her so she looked up to where she believed where he was speaking from

  “So you're her then.”

  “Who me?”

  “Yes there’s no one in this cell apart from you”

  “How would I know that since I’m blind”

  Skyler shouted loudly at the man and she heard a chuckle

  “Man why is it always the Umbra’s who are the funniest”

  He said while patting her like a child

  “Get off me whoever you are”

  “I’m Carl nightingale I’m the warden here you eclipse blade user”

  Her eyes widened underneath her blindfold. Skyler felt scared about the person in front of her now since he called her the user of that blade

  “How do you know that name?”

  “Protector moonlight”

  Her eyes widened even more at Carl’s answer it was a gut punch to her emotions and she dropped her head in shame due to the previous situation

  “Justin?”

  “Yes your supervisor told me but let me tell you something I already knew that eclipse blade exists due to your mother”

  “What? What, my mother?”

  Skyler exclaimed struggling strongly in her binds desperately to get out

  “Woah don’t struggle it will make it worse the binds I mean”

  He said while trying to calm Skyler down from her emotional distress. She took a deep breath in and out calming herself down

  “Okay okay I’m calm so what do you mean by my mom?”

  Skyler asked

  “Well I knew her before you were born Skyler. She was in a cult”

  Skyler raised her eyebrow at his statement

  “A cult there’s no way my mother was in a cult she used to hate going out”

  “You know the person that she was when your a child”

  “Oh…”

  Skyler said sadly, she felt a hand on her arm and pulled her from her knees and onto her feet

  “Sooo what the cult about anyway”

  Skyler asked curiously while being guided down a long corridor

  “The cult that was supposedly founded to protect the blade from the government and other people who likely wanted their hands on it since it’s powerful”

  “I see, where are you taking me now?

  “Interragtion”

  “Huh from who?”

  “Protector moonlight”

  Skyler heard him say while they went through many different walkways and doors.

  “How I thought he would of left me here to rot”

  “He might”

  Skyler gulped at Carl’s statement and sighed

  “I wouldn’t blame him if he did”

  She turned her head to the side sadly knowing that she was the cause of Justin’s anxiety and sadness. Since she was the one who nearly killed his lover.

  “Are we there yet?”

  Skyler asked quietly like a mouse. She heard a door slide open and then the slushing sound from their feet pushing against the water underneath them.

  Skyler felt gross because she didn’t know what substance she was walking in. Apart from the stench of salt.

  “Please sit and i will take off that blindfold”

  A chair scraped and she felt Carl’s Rough hand on her guiding her softly onto the chair.

  Then the tight cloth that was over her eyes suddenly fell down and the bright light of the bulb made Skyler squint her eyes.

  She grunted since it was quite bright and it made her feel annoyed.

  “Turn that light down”

  She demanded from the person behind the lamp. But to her displeasure her demand went unanswered.

  “Did you forget you’re a prisoner here Skyler”

  “I know whoever you are”

  “Then why did you demand to turn the light down if you know your a prisoner”

  “It’s my human right to not be tortured by having light being beamed into my eyes”

  The voice snickers at Skyler’s reply. To amuse her, they turned down the light just a smidge to show Skyler who they were.

  “Justin?”

  “Yup”

  “So tell me why did you disobey my orders and try to kill my fiancé”

  Justin growled which made Skyler move back in the chair and look away in shame

  “I was just trying to help”

  “Really your going with that”

  He slammed his hands on the table and then moved his body over the table.

  “I was really trying to help that person was controlling me”

  “Who?

  “The person who kidnapped her in the first place”

  “How do I expect to believe if there’s no such thing as a person being controlled”

  “But it happened”

  She said and Justin just put his hand up in front of her to say shut up

  “Enough Skyler, you have another day in this prison and then you’re going to be gone okay”

  “Gone”

  “Yes that’s what I said I’m going to drop you since you don’t listen to orders”

  Skyler’s eyes widened by that statement and she leaned forward locking onto Justin’s red eyes

  “Please, give me another chance I will be better”

  Justin just shook his head and went towards the door grabbing the handle

  “Justin?”

  “Goodbye Skyler”

  “Justin!”

  He left the room leaving Skyler bound with the guards. Tears started to gather in her eyes and then fell onto the table

  “Please no”

  Skyler whispered gently whilst being picked up from the chair and then walked back to the cell that she was in before.
