Chapter Thirty-Six
Upon Sugar leaving the room, he had a weird feeling. As if the world would end at the thought of him messing things up with BB. I just need to do what he says. Maybe, we could get ourselves a rest period and I won’t need to be around these guys for at least a few hours.
“Hey kid, can you fetch me some water?”
“Sure.”
Scott had lost his memories for a total of four hours and yet he didn’t question why he had the body of a ten-year-old girl despite remembering himself to be a tall man who was in his late thirties.
“Thanks, now tell me why I’m here.”
Whilst Sugar was busy speaking with his uncle of sorts, Lia had been sitting in the shadows. She had been sleeping pretty well when she was taken but she didn’t care. What she did care about was how her family was supposed to come and help her. But alas, nothing came of them or her servants or her riches.
“You’re here because a machine took you and made you his hitman. Then, BB, that old man in there saved you and the two of you formed Backtown. Then BB got banished and you came with him because he had gotten visions. Currently, we have Alexander the Great tied up below deck, and we plan on interrogating him very brutally.”
Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
“I don’t need saving. That wimpy old man in there really saved my life? I must be getting sloppy or something.”
Sugar felt uncomfortable around Scott. Well, worse than usual. It was like he was standing near a predator that would’ve eaten him alive if he didn’t immediately do something about it.
“Hey guys, how’s it going? It seems there’s been an incident in the kitchen, and it needs your attention immediately, Sugar.”
“Thanks Lia. I’ll see you around.”
Her attempt at saving Sugar only prolonged the hunt and made herself a target as well. Whilst walking away, Sugar gave her a look that said a million words in an instant. Don’t underestimate him. He’s dangerous. Remembering how the warrior had torn through the guardians earlier, she silently summoned a hell hound. If he was to attack, she would be protected.
“Why are you here?”
“Well, I was tasked with helping out in getting your memories back.”
His face tightened at the prospect that he needed help. Perhaps this was who was seen in that black and white world he visited all those years ago.
“Maybe I don’t want my memories back. Have you considered that?”
“No. But that’s why I’m not going to regret making you take them back.”
“That’s an interesting proposal."
