Hexian Academy Entry Exam

  Hexian Academy Entry Exam

Lunaris's eyes were closed, and she had a strange grin. Wait, is that drool coming from the corner of her mouth?

"Lucy, my sweet angel, your big sister loves you very much."

Who the hell is Lucy? I think Lunaris has finally lost it.

  "Lucy, Lucy, Lucy..."

I bit my finger, made it bleed a little, and held it near Lunaris's face for her to smell. "Lunaris, the blood you love so much is here."

  "The smell of cinnamon."

  "Welcome back, Luna."

"Nox, I'm the sister of an angel!"

  "An angel?"

"I have a sister named Lucy, and she's the sweetest angel in the world!"

  "I see."

"So, Nox, what were your memories like?"

"I was a slave, and then I was bought by someone from a Witch's Council."

  "The Witch's Council?"

"Yes, I think her name was Alice."

  "You don't mean... Alice Quartz?"

"Ah, yes, that was her name."

"The famous Alice Quartz, who discovered the mana wave function! Nox, my respect for you has just increased."

"Maybe we'll see Alice again at the academy."

"I'm going to Victor's to get a drink and clear my head. Want to come?"

"Sure. Besides, we need to make a plan for the next floor."

We left the cold, soulless altar room. In the dimly lit bar area, we saw Victor and a man chatting. We went over and sat on the bar stools next to them.

"Victor, do you and Markus know each other from before?"

"You could say we have some history."

"Don't be so brief, Victor, come on."

  "Shut up, Markus."

"Can I get a fire wine, Victor?"

"Fire wine? Someone's in a good mood, I see."

  "I met an angel."

  "Noxtion, what do you want?"

If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation.

"Is there a drink specific to Hexian?"

"Mandrake tea, then." A few seconds later, Victor placed a cup of hot, transparent purple tea in front of me.

"Victor, peppermint candy tea for me, please?"

"Will you ever get tired of that tea, Markus?"

  "Good things are always good."

"Luna, Nox, what are you going to do about the mission?"

"I don't know. I just understand that we're supposed to enter the academy."

"Lunaris aside, Nox, you should at least study for the academy entrance exam. Get a couple of language books."

"Wait, you're entering the academy? You just got new clothes. Anyway, let me adjust the academy uniforms for you."

The conversation continued for a while. Luna kept bragging about Lucy. After some bickering between Victor and Markus, and knowing there was a specific exam to get into the academy, I spent the remaining time studying the basic books for the Sin, Entity, and Virtue languages and preparing a few bottles of blood for Luna.

Shortly before the gate to the next floor opened, Markus finished the clothes and gave them to us. A simple green tie, a black blazer, and black pants for me. For Luna, a green and black plaid pencil skirt. Once the clothes were ready, we prepared ourselves and went through the floor gate.

"Welcome again to the Hexian Academy Entrance Exam. All students, you have 90 minutes. Any form of cheating is prohibited and will result in immediate failure. You may begin."

Apparently, the floor gate threw us right into the middle of the exam. I quickly scanned for Lunaris and saw her three rows behind me. Well, since we've come this far, let's pass the exam and reassess the situation later.

Question 1:How many god languages are accepted by the Witch's Council, and what are they?

Looking at these questions, the exam must be easy. I don't know why Luna was exaggerating it so much. Anyway, let's just solve the questions and get this over with.

  ...

Question 120:As mana micro-particles approach the chaos scale, what methods can be used to prevent the fragmentation reaction from reaching its critical point, and find the negative level of the scale using the Clark formula?

What kind of questions are these? The last 50 questions are full of nonsense like this. Who is Clark, and why am I using his constant?

"Attention all students. There are 5 minutes remaining in the exam. Please finalize your answers and do not forget to write your name."

Whatever. I solved most of the first half anyway. It shouldn't be a problem. Let me just write my name and get out of here. I want to go to the washroom and throw up all the numerical things I've seen and done.

"Pencils down. Please sign your name before you leave. The list of those who passed will be posted on the bulletin board at the school entrance tomorrow morning."

I left my paper on the desk, signed it, and went over to Luna to talk about the exam.

"Luna, how did the exam go?"

"It wasn't bad, actually. You only need to answer 45 questions to pass. The last 30 are just topics from theoretical theses; they're only there to scare you."

"45 questions? I answered all of them except the last 30..."

"Nox, are you kidding me? Didn't you just start learning the three main languages yesterday?"

"I solved them with what I remembered from my memories. I'm not even sure about most of the answers."

I couldn't hold it in anymore. I emptied whatever was in my stomach right onto the school corridor. I guess 90 minutes of high-level calculation didn't sit well with me.

"Nox, you're really acting in a way that doesn't suit a Bloodmoon's blood bag."

"Sorry, it's just... all those calculations made my head spin."

Even though she complained, she helped me to the washroom, supporting me by the arm. As I entered the washroom and washed my face, I looked at my pale reflection in the mirror, my face definitely whiter than usual.

After washing my face and fixing my hair a bit, I went back to Luna.

"Anyway, let's go to a nearby cafe and get something to eat. I definitely need some fresh air."

We left the building and saw three other large buildings covering the campus. Without much thought, we started walking around campus, looking for a quiet place to eat. Before long, we stopped at a very luxurious-looking cafe. I didn't really want to go in, but Luna forced me.

"Prince Max, you look so handsome again today!"

"Prince Max, please be my partner in the next sword training!"

"Prince Max, please step on me!"

"Sorry, my sweet kitten, but it's against my nature to harm beautiful things."

A guy with black hair and amber eyes, just like me, entered the restaurant. The biggest visual difference between us was, simply put, that he was more handsome.
