Prologue

Upon a brisk January morning in Floaroma Town in the west of the Sinnoh Region stands a father and son. The son is named Erdd and he is a fair skinned young man in possession of long black hair and a fully built, if a bit short(5’5-5’6) physique and wears a distinct red cloak over his sleek black winter jacket. He taps his bulky boots on the dirt as he addresses the tall, short haired man next to him,

"I will prove to you The Way I follow is superior to yours. Do not make it easy for me.” Spoke the zealous child.

“I look forward to the day you can prove that, if that day ever comes. Do not be impatient, my little roar, and remember well to show your face to Rowan of Sandgem for me. He is the one who made it possible for you to take part in the Gym Challenge this year on such short notice and it would be wise of you to deepen the bond of fate born from it.” Sagely responded the man whose fearsome aura lay concealed.

“I remember the task you have given me.” comes a curt response, before the biting voice picks up once more “What point is there for you to bring me to Floaroma when you could have easily started me there to begin with? You know how trifles wear thin on me Father.”

That tone does earn a smirk from the older man, but assuage his son’s worries he still must. “There will be opportunity both in the trip itself, short though it may be, and Rowan in lab gifts for you there shall be, and such fortune should not be without effort gained, lest you forget how to fight for such things in the future.”

“Very well” comes a confirmation from Erdd, and then a continuation “When The Way we follow may intersect I will show you how far my pokemon and I have gotten.”

With nothing else to be said, the man with short hair nods to his son and taps a pokeball on his waist, releasing a shimmering gardevoir, and then he and the psychic vanish, as if the world remembered they were supposed to be elsewhere, leaving behind Erdd in a field of flowers.

To fight the numb of loneliness he releases his own pokemon and from the flash of red materializes a gible that gives a fierce look at its surroundings, confused at the unfamiliar scenery, confusion turns to fear and fear sharply into anger. The small dragon's eyes begin to shrink and wisps of energy trace the maw gathering.

Erdd's voice cuts through the cacophony of the rampaging feelings, “Sever! calm, these are the meadows of Floaroma, lay down with me and enjoy the scent and scenery.” And so the young man and young monster enjoyed the cool winter breeze in a field of flowers, watching the sunrise together.
