Prologue: Dungeons. What would we do without them?

The world of Tiapra is a fantasy world filled with the usual things one would expect. Mythical creatures roam the world, demon terrorize the humans, multiple races have their relationships with other races (good or bad), and people live out their lives.

Some adventurers travel around the world to see the many things that they have not seen before.

There are summoned heroes who come into this world with grand expectations to save mankind from the [Demon King].

Some warriors seek battle and glory, wanting to be known throughout the world for their grand accomplishments.

Some wish to seek the ultimate source of knowledge.

Some people just want to have a peaceful life with no care in the world about the dangers to come.

And there's much more, yet our tale is about the many dungeons of this world.

  Yes, dungeons.

These areas host many foul things or good things depending on their dungeon master. Some dungeon masters are living beings. Others are just a dungeon core. Dungeons can be controlled or be free, helping or hurting the area that they are in. Even if someone conquers a dungeon and destroys it, many more will appear throughout Tiapra. Some people try to figure out how these dungeons came to be. Religious speakers think that the dungeons are gifts from the gods, giving the mortals the necessary tools to live. Some researchers think that the dungeons were manmade, created by a grand magician of ancient times that gave relics of the past to future generations.

Despite these speculations and theories, everyone in the world tends to use these dungeons on a day to day basis.

Dungeons are treated with some level of respect. It depends entirely on what it does, the things it can offer, the dungeon master, who is in control, and the level of the dungeon. Not only that, but the dungeons can also only be judged by [Dungeon Crawlers]. These individuals have been tested and ranked accordingly by the Guild, the military, and the merchants. A [Dungeon Crawler] must have the wits, the strength, and the capability to judge an entire dungeon based on its action and the dungeon as a whole. A [Dungeon Crawler]'s objective is to make contact with the dungeon master, but they must thoroughly explore the dungeon and assess its value. There will be times where [Dungeon Crawlers] will not be able to make contact with the dungeon master, yet they will try to. And if they have to retreat, then it can't be helped. It would be a huge violation if the nations of Tiapra sent in their armies or heroes into these dungeons. If they are not a [Dungeon Crawler], nations will declare war on the transgressor.

It is a different story if the [Dungeon Crawler] calls in help, assembles a team, or forms an expedition, but that's for later.

[Dungeon Crawlers] are paid for their courageous actions. Depending on their employer, they will be paid fairly or richly upon their travels through these dungeons. Using the [Dungeon Crawlers], kings and queens will employ [Dungeon Crawlers] into a dungeon to establish a deal with the dungeon master. They do this so they can reap the benefits of whatever the dungeon can provide. It can be a good or bad thing. Most of the time, people will have to gamble on these dungeons.

Dungeons will have certain phases. It all depends on if it is brand new or if it is old. Older dungeons gain the attention of kings, queens, and emperors, while the newer dungeons are usually left to lords, ladies, governors, mayors, etc. Some people can gain a noble title for acquiring a dungeon if they hire a [Dungeon Crawler] time to do so, or a [Dungeon Crawler] can become a noble by establishing a link with the dungeon master themselves.

Now, you might be wondering, "What happens if the dungeon master does not accept the offer of the [Dungeon Crawler]?" It depends. Despite these negotiations and offers that the [Dungeon Crawlers] may have, the dungeon master will ultimately decide on if it wants to accept or decline. As the dungeon master, they will see how the [Dungeon Crawlers] will proceed through their dungeon. Some of these dungeon masters are peaceful, not having their creations fight as much. Other dungeon masters have some form of defense to protect themselves if things do go wrong. And some dungeon masters do not like invaders and will kill these intruders. Whatever the case, if a [Dungeon Crawler] does reach a dungeon master, the dungeon master must hear them out (before they let them go or kill them). During this sort of confrontation, the [Dungeon Crawler] also has the call to kill the dungeon master if needed. Most of the time, older dungeons, even if they are aggressive and decline many offers from the [Dungeon Crawlers] (or kill the [Dungeon Crawler]), are spared. Because of their worth and experience, older dungeons are valued over the newer dungeons.

Dungeons are classified into three categories: military, business, and/or public. Some dungeons can have more than one function, mixing two out of the three functions, or having all three functions within themselves.

A military dungeon will focus more on developing weapons, armors, and production of certain units like monsters or golems. Robots can also be produced in these dungeons, but it will depend on certain factors. A lot of rulers will try to gain control over these dungeons. For obvious reasons, they can strengthen and improve the welfare of one's army and nation. However, even if these military dungeons are helpful, they are the most dangerous of the three types. They will test the incoming invaders and see if they are worthy to gain the dungeon master's trust. Also, military dungeons can become monster spawns. If the dungeon master loses their sanity, there is a chance for the dungeon to become a monster spawn, ceasing all functions of what the dungeon used to be.

Business dungeons tend to have an abundance of resources. Ores, oil, certain woods, rare herbs, these dungeons can provide wealth to a nation or land. These dungeons can have defenders or some military force within them, but it will depend on the dungeon master. Most of the time, there is some form of protection, but they are usually passive.

And lastly, public dungeons are... public. These dungeons can be accessed by the general public and travelers. They are barely a threat, having some form of entertainment or use that can appeal to their visitors. Public dungeon masters tend to display friendliness compared to the other two. Heck, they can be nonhostile, giving quite a laid-back feeling.

In the end, if the [Dungeon Crawler] does establish contact with the dungeon master, they will give out the rank of their dungeon. Here are the ranks:

  Beginner

  Advanced

  Expert

  Majestic

  Overlord

  Transcended

  Ascended

  God/Goddess

The powerful nations of this world have control over most of the dungeons from the expert rank and upwards. Yet there are a few powerful dungeons that have shaken the very world.

Goddess Dungeon Master Zellana had a god status dungeon. Having all three functions and working with the [Demon King], they forced humans to fear them. Many tried to gain the favor for Zellana's dungeon, hoping to have her work for them. Most of them got rejected because of some of their terms and conditions, pissing off the Goddess. In the end, despite all of the [Dungeon Crawlers], the humans have sent, the [Demon King] won her favor.

No, it wasn't apparent. There was one reason why Zellana agreed to the [Demon King] instead of the humans. Most of the humans assumed that Zellana was a cruel Goddess, a [Demon Queen] in disguise. Rumors have stated that she would consume the flesh of the captured creatures who dared to invade her dungeon. Those were the lucky ones. Then, Zellana would torture her female prisoners, sending them to her torture chambers. There, Zellana would mercilessly punish her female captives, making them suffer for the rest of their lives. No one corrected this rumor spreading throughout the many kingdoms who oppose the [Demon King].

Zellana did indeed torture her female prisoners...

But not in a bad way.

You see, Zellana is a hardcore lesbian, making out with any pretty female she sees. Yes, she did keep some of these females in her chambers, but she would not torture them that badly. Maybe a bit, but in the end, these prisoners fell in love with Zellana.

The real reason why Zellana refused these silly offers from the humans, elves, dwarves, dragoons, and other races that oppose the [Demon King] was because of their stupid demands to release the female prisoners.

By the time Zellana had her way with them, they were not her prisoners. Stubbornly, most [Dungeon Crawlers] said otherwise, not listening to Zellana or the former female prisoners who are now part of her harem. Agitated by these idiots, Zellana killed them and repeat her cycle with her new female captives.

Ironically, because of these annoying demands, the [Demon King] simply offer Zellana a position where she can do whatever the hell she wants. And, better yet, she DOES NOT HAVE TO RELEASE THE 'PRISONERS!' Relieved that there was one guy who understood the situation, she allied with the [Demon King].

Yep. Just because of this silly mistake, Zellana did not aid the [Demon King]'s opposition. Now, if someone had an open mind and saw what was going on, and offered Zellana the same thing without pissing her off, then history would have been different.

Neither the less, with Zellana's aid, the [Demon King]'s army was a force to be reckoned with. Even if the opposition had Ascended and God ranking dungeons, they were no match for Zellena. Her dungeon was one of a kind, producing things that were out of this world with godlike materials that can challenge the gods. Leading offensive campaigns left and right, the alliance of races that oppose the [Demon King] were losing. Every battle they fought, they lost a hundred thousand or so troops. They could not beat the [Demon King] army with Zellana's aid backing him up. Two years later, they asked for peace. The [Demon King] agreed to it. He only fought back with his army to defend his homeland. Zellana, not giving any care about outside politics, just shrugged her shoulders. As long as she had her way and her harem, it didn't matter. Before they made any deals though, the [Demon King] warned the other side about the POWs. The female POWS Agreeing with Zellana's aid, female POWs (Prisoners of War) were gifted to her. The opposition wanted to say otherwise. They did not want to agree with these terms, but they reluctantly abided by these demands because they did not wish to prolong this war. Besides, they wanted to trade with Zellana. Denying her demands will only hurt them again. Especially the rights to trade with her.

Thus, peace was established in Tiapra.

And that bored the living hell out of Zellana. Even though she was no warmonger, peace was a silly thing. She did want some chaos in the world, some fighting, but apparently, the world was really at peace. There were no wars between nations, no faction was being exterminated, no civil war. It was an era of peace. This maddened Zellana, making the Goddess pack up her belongings to explore these various other worlds she heard about.

At first, she did not want to leave her harem. She amassed so many lovers, and she spread the gifts of lesbomancy to the nonbelievers.

Yet her boredom was killing her. Her urge to learn new things and gain a sense of adventure drove her to explore these new dimensions. She could not stand the peace. Out of everyone, the [Demon King] was aware of her attitude. Before she slipped away, he confronted her. It wasn't a lengthy talk, the [Demon King] knew well not to stop the Goddess. He was curious about her decision. He asked her if she should abandon everything and not tell anyone else.

"Won't you take someone with you? Aren't you going to tell your lovers about this? You know that things won't go too well without your presence here?" The [Demon King] asked.

"I know... But I think I'll just leave. It'll be a few days. A week. I'll be back before you know it." Zellana answers.

  "If you think so."

She shrugged her shoulders and left everything to her command AI. Her dungeon had the capacity to open her a portal so she can go to these other worlds. She waved nonchalantly at the [Demon King].

Little did Zellana know about how time worked between these dimensions.

  2000 years later...

"Oh man, I miss this place!" Appearing out of a portal from another world, the famous Goddess Zellana steps out of the circular vortex. The portal disappears the moment Zellana stands in her throne room. "I can't believe it has been years since I used that spell. Jeeeeeeeez!" Stretching her slender arms above her, the Goddess was wearing a simple black bikini. With flawless pale skin and long white hair, Zellana takes off her black sunglasses. A black sarong was wrapped around her waist as she turns her head. Her purple eyes resonate with some glee and anticipation for the welcoming party. Staying in shape with her curvy figure, showing off a few her toned abs, she taps her dark sandals against the ground. Folding her arms, pushing out her large breasts, she lets out a sigh.

  She waits for a minute...

  Then two...

  Now three...

"Hey, I'm back? Anyone here?" Showing some irritation in her voice, Zellana continues to tap her foot against the ground. The tapping echoes through the room until she hears a familiar voice.

"Welcome back Zellana." A floating ball approaches her with a blue eyeball in the middle of its body. A bit puzzled as to why she programmed her trusty AI manager to have a male voice, she closes her eyes.

"Issue Command Overwrite: F10928173." Zellana clearly remembers the important command codes for the AI, wanting to hear a female voice from her AI manager.

"Overwrite Command has been accepted. Anything else, master?" Ahhhhh, Zellana smiles at the female voice, pleased by the change.

"Ah yes, where is everyone?" Zellana looks around the room again, "I thought the place would be in order still. Where's the [Demon King]? And my girls? They're doing fine, right?"

"Uh... about that..." the AI seems a bit hesitant. Zellana tilts her head at the AI. "They're all dead. The dungeon is in ruins, and things have changed... You were gone for 2000 years."

Hearing this, Zellana drops her sunglasses. In the next second, Zellona lets out a roar that shakes the very ground.

  "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!!!!"
