Hey everyone. I have not abandoned this story, I promise!

  I just got home from the hospital. I had the first of two planned surgeries. Everything went well, as far as I can tell at this early stage, but the pain is more than I expected. I'm on some pills for that which means that I don't trust myself to write anything even if I could concentrate enough to do so.

  Anyway, I won't bore you with details, I just wanted to check in and let you know that I'll continue the story just as soon as I can.
