Chapter 116: One Day (Part 1)

Chapter 116: One Day (Part 1)

  July 5, 1965.

  Independence Day has just passed.

Catherine yawned and then sprang out of bed.

It's 7 o'clock in the morning now, and I got up a bit early, but Elsa has already folded her clothes and put them on the head of the bed.

She took off her nightgown and then Catherine turned off the air conditioner.

The dresser is very clean, although Catherine doesn't use it often, Elsa still cleans it every day.

Catherine tilted her head, just like that, naked, and sat up, but she didn't touch those cosmetics, just staring at the mirror.

In the mirror, there is a beautiful girl with platinum blonde hair that falls straight to her waist, big eyes with a pair of azure pupils, good figure but slightly weak, so the E-cup Ru house seems even bigger than its size.

  "Good morning, Catherine."

  She took a deep breath.

That voice sounds great, just like heavenly music.

Another glance, the whole girl seemed to be a beauty who walked out of a fairy tale, giving people an incredible feeling, as if letting people fall into a kind of "wonder".

At this time, Elsa walked in.

"Miss... Kate, are you awake?" Elsa occasionally still got the title wrong, but it was rare now.

  "Uh-huh."

Catherine stretched and then put on the tight-fitting T-shirt that was placed at the head of the bed, followed by black stockings and a super short skirt, which made up today's outfit.

Emma was already preparing breakfast when she left the house. Bruce was reading the newspaper, but on the other side there were a lot of documents.

"Wow, Kate, you're up really early today."

"Hmm. Maybe it's because of the air conditioner, so I slept comfortably."

Then Catherine went to the bathroom, and when she finished washing up, it was already 7:30.

"Elsa, what are your plans for the future?" Emma asked suddenly as she handed Catherine her breakfast.

"I? As per madam's instructions, I will continue to take care of Miss Kate..."

Bruce put down the newspaper: "Excuse me. Elsa, you're not anyone's appendage, since you've already completed high school in Britain, why don't you go take the SAT with Kate? Maybe you can even attend university?"

Catherine ate the fried eggs and then took a sip of water.

"Dad, Elsa's future, she will consider it herself."

  Catherine looked at Elsa.

She didn't know what to say.

On the one hand, Catherine genuinely wants Elsa to have a life of her own, but on the other hand, she feels that Elsa is hers, and to put it bluntly, Catherine seems to have some "possessiveness" towards Elsa.

"Yes, but this child is not as opinionated as you..."

  Emma patted Elsa's head.

"Kate, honestly, when you brought Elsa over from England, you should have considered her feelings."

Catherine turned her head away and looked at the TV, where Catherine's Angel Station was broadcasting its morning news.

The 37th Academy Awards, honoring the best in film for 1964, were held on April 5.

  The best film is "Mulan".

And Catherine's wasteland... didn't even get an award.

There were nominations, but it seemed to take into account the controversy caused by Waste Land, or other considerations, so although Catherine's film was a box office success, it didn't win any awards.

But Catherine did not attend the Oscars. On the one hand, today's Hollywood is mixed with each other, and on the other hand, she has always felt a little disgusted by that place of gold and silver. Although I didn't see Audrey Hepburn, whom I had admired before, Catherine didn't think it was a pity either.

"Wait for it, Hollywood, one day you will be mine. I'll make you give me an award and you have to give it to me!"

  Catherine puckered up her mouth.

"Ahem—" Bruce cleared his throat, while Catherine gave an embarrassed laugh.

"Don't change the subject, Kate. Fallout's impact is too great; if they give it to you, do you want 3K to think we're sympathizing with niggers? I don't like their bombs."

The past two years have been tumultuous enough, and it seems that Bruce is also a bit intimidated. Although there's an umbrella of protection, having bodyguards doesn't necessarily mean 100% safety.

"Ailsa, what do you think of SAT? Are there any universities you like?"

Elsa shook her head in dismay.

"Kate, maybe you can introduce some good universities to Elsa. My sister said Elsa's grades are excellent. I think passing the SAT should be easy... but if she really wants to go, extracurricular activities can't be lacking either..." Bruce thought for a moment and then said: "Maybe we should understand some detailed enrollment consulting?"

Bruce glanced at his watch again.

"Maybe I should go now, the protective umbrella is still open for the meeting, let's talk about this next time."

Bruce downed his coffee in one gulp and then prepared to leave.

Catherine stared at the TV program, lost in thought.

Catherine had gradually lost interest in movies, but now she felt a bit suffocated.

If you haven't won an Oscar, what right do you have to say you've made a movie!!

Catherine is thinking, can Halo be filmed?

But the current special effects are still not enough.

What should I take pictures of?

Catherine thought for half a day and still couldn't think of it, so she had to give up temporarily.

It was already 8 o'clock at this time.

Back in her bedroom, Catherine began to review the several plots of land she had circled in June.

Catherine attaches great importance to these pieces of land, but various formalities need to be handled, and construction can only be in the preliminary planning stage.

After looking at the map for a while, Catherine placed her gaze on the estate she had bought.

Catherine planned a racecourse for the estate and also an indispensable swimming pool. The house was designed in five levels, with two of them being underground.

Catherine decided to turn the lowest basement into her own secret base where she could put some out-of-date things.

Catherine looked at her own land and suddenly thought of the legendary Hurst Manor.

The estate has 29 bedrooms, three swimming pools, multiple tennis courts and even a movie theater and nightclub. Hearst himself brought many sculptures from his castle in San Simeon to the Hearst Estate.

Katherine hadn't considered nightclubs, but maybe tennis courts would be okay?

Then she revised and revised on the plan map, added a tennis court, thought for a moment, and changed it to one indoor and one outdoor.

Catherine looked at it and felt quite satisfied, but always felt that something was missing. After a long time, she suddenly realized and added a dance practice room.
