Chapter 2: Guns
| EEEEEEEEEeeee |
He felt a horrible ear ringing, after the bullet passed by him and nearly blowing off his right ear. In the blink of an eye, it went past him and landed at something behind him. He patiently waits for the sound to calm, his paws covered his ears. He looked back at where the bullet headed towards, about 4 feet from him there was a monster on the ground. It had ripped clothes, his lower jaw and body were shredded from dragging itself on the floor.
| Bang |
| Bang |
He looked back towards where the monsters were. They were laying on the ground with holes in their heads and forming a pool of blood.
| Thud |
The red being landed with a heavy thud from the roof of the house and walked towards him. He stood up slowly, looking at him closer he was a wolf with red highlights. His greenish jacket had stains of black and his leather backpack looked full and heavy.
“uhh”
“Stay down!” his face hardened and pointed his rifle at him.
[Wait, what is he doing? Am I going to die?]
“Leave all your sh*t and scram!”
[What is he talking about? What is that?]
“Didn’t you f*cking hear me?! I said stay dow-”
The red being was so focused on him that he didn’t sense an ominous aura until it was too late. There were heavy footsteps moving swiftly. It was so bizarre, it came from behind the buildings. “What the hell is that!?” said the red being gritting his teeth [If it was one of the dead it would have immediately attacked us. Why is it running around?!]
“ah- ahhhh!” The white being was shouting in horror as his finger pointing upwards. The red being looks up but he gets pinned down into the ground in an instant.
“Nngh! You’re one clever brainless corpse” said the red being. On top of him was another monster, pinning him down with a horrible smile straight out of a nightmare. The monster was tall, he had different colored eyes and its skin was rotting off. It opened its mouth, and you could see the steam of its hot breath.
“Uff- get a mint you fuc-”

The monster aimed his claws into the red being’s neck. “AGH!” the red being quickly grabs its wrist before it jabs its claws on him. He struggled as he fights off the monster. It was a matter of strength but the monster had the upper hand. Slowly the monster’s claws was reaching the surface of his neck. When suddenly a rusty hatchet was swinged between the monster’s teeth and breaking its jaw.
“SCREEECHHH!!” The monster let out a pained scream and quickly backed up. “Hey! Is that my sh*t!?” Said the red being looking at him with a disbelief look.
[Oh is this what he meant by shi-] before he could finish his thought. The red being had stood up and snatched the hatchet from his hands. “Don’t touch my things!” “ah… uahh”
“SCREEECHH!!!”
“Oh yeah?! You want another one?! Then come and get it!”
The monster rushed towards them with a fiery look and a murderous intent. When it was close to them for about five feet it decided to jump.
[I can't swing my axe at him in mid-air!]
The monster landed on top of the red being again. It let out another horrible bone-curling scream and swung his claws at him. The red being struggled to stand up, the monster seemed to weight more than it looks. The red being felt a big pressure pinning him down and he couldn’t move. But instead of being scared, this situation seemed to have been an advantage for him.
“I got you now” The red being raises his hands and with his claws he roots them onto his head. “Rot in hell!” Just as he said that the monster’s head suddenly ignited. It was a strong firepower that it burn its skull to a crisp. The monster uses both his legs to push the red being away. He manages to get himself loose and runs away in four limbs with his skin melting and clinging into his face.
“ahh!”
“Hmm? What are you so worried about? If you want him dead, then go kill it yourself!” The red being heads towards his backpack on the ground and starts walking away. “Listen, you were a good decoy, so I will let you slide. Now scram! Before I change my mind” he says, walking away to the edge of the cliff and starting to head down.
The red being carefully grabbed onto the grass at the edge of the cliff and made his way down. He reached the bottom of the cliff and headed straight towards the forest continuing his journey when…
|Poof| “oof” “He” was rolling down the cliff behind the red being and laded butt down. “Stop following me! Go away!” “ah…” The red being looked into his innocent scared eyes and couldn’t help but make a guilty face. “FINE! But I won't take care of you. You’re on your own” he said with a glare.
The monster watches as the two of them walked into the forest. It glares at them while growling, seeking bloodlust for revenge. The two of them walk and didn’t talk. The red being was walking forward, almost leaving him behind.
A few hours later, night rose and the red being had set up a campfire. He took out a pan and set water to boil, he added a few unknown spices and vegetables to a sauté pan. The rusty black sauté pan had its own unknown spices and made the soup taste salty.
“Hey” said the red being, breaking the quiet atmosphere. “You have been quiet all this time… what are you planning?” he said with a suspicious tone and glaring him.
|Gulp| “ehh… guamm…” “Huh? You can’t speak or what?” He nodded in agreement. “Tsk. You're useless. Well, where do you come from? You wouldn’t survive a day here with all those white clothes”
He wanted to tell him “I don’t know” but he couldn’t really put it into words. He knew how to say it in his head but the words don’t come out as how he wants it. “Bluahrgg… ah..” The red being looked at him disappointed.
After a few minutes it became quiet. He wanted to break the silent atmosphere so he wanted to ask a few questions. But how would he do it? He stood up and pointed at the direction they came from. He showed his teeth and made a claw gesture with his hands. “GRrrrgh?” The red being was dumfounded for a minute but he understood what he meant.
“Those things? I don’t know where they come from. They were here since I was a kid… They only go for us who are alive and leave the other living beings alone.” He felt a feeling of despair, he thought there would be one or two of those monsters. But the red being’s answer shattered his delusion. Now he would have to live the rest of his life with those monsters. “They seem to be more rough this time around.” He continued “They are more ruthless and very sensitive to noise.”
The red being took out a spoon from his backpack and started to stir the food in the sauté pan. He saw that what he said earlier might have made the being with white clothes scared. He got up and gave him a cup with the food he had made. “Here. You need to eat if you want to outrun those monsters” He took the cup and gave it a sip. The food was good, but he had burned his tongue.
“So” he said “What’s your name?” He took some time to wonder. He couldn’t remember anything about his past or himself.
“I-…it..s Hi- ro” he said in a low stuttering voice. The red being’s expression harden while making a surprised face. At the same time, hands appeared out of the darkness. The big arms trapped Hiro’s lower body and covered his mouth.
Still in shock, the red being finally responds to the situation, “He—hey!” But before he can do anything, another pair of hands traps his body and covers his mouth. Hiro is trapped on the tree, and the big arms are holding him back from escaping. Then, a black figure appears from the shadows, and his warm breath reaches Hiro’s ear.
“Finally… I found you”
