Chapter 10: Bribes & Bombs

Talen stared at the phone for a moment and then scoffed out a laugh before answering, a smirk filling his face.

"Clever, sweet, clever. Is it really so bad for me to have your number that you had to resort to using Meric's phone to call me, hm?"

  - haaaaa

"You know the more you run from me, the more I want to chase you, right? Did you forget that I'm S-rank?"

-An S-rank Stalker? You won't let me forget it.

"Haha! Trust me when I say that if I was actually stalking you, you would already be tied to my bed, sweet. Aren't I a good boy for holding back?"

  -haaaaa Tale-

"Did you like it?" Talen interrupted Grey, his smirk widening.

-........ I like it. Ugh... mm.. yea, so-

  "Is it missing anything?"

-Will you fucking let me finish, fucking hell! Yes, I liked it. No, it's not missing anything but you better pay for the storage and shit because I didn't ask for this.

Talen laughed loudly, "Sweetness, don't worry your precious head about money. I've got you."

  -Sure. sigh. So yea.. thanks.

"Is that all? Just a 'thank you'?"

  -Talen

"Come on. I think I, at least, should get a little something in return. I've been holding back a lot and even got you something nice. Hmm?"

-What is that you want, Talen?

  "Just have dinner with me?"

  -dinner? That's it?

"Yes, I just want to see you. I just want to talk to you, in person. Can you give me that at least?"

  -...

Talen licked his lips and listened to the groaning on the other end, smiling.

-Fine. But just dinner. Don't expect anything else.

"Got it. Tomorrow. I'll come get you, so don't eat dinner.

  -I'm hanging up.

  Click.

Talen stood in the middle of the forest where he was stationed at the Gate and stared at his phone. He stood there, frozen with a cheesy grin on his face. Those watching him stared at him in confusion and fear. What could be making that idiot smile like that? They shivered. Ugh, I feel sorry for whoever he is going to kill with that smile.

No one, not even Talen himself could understand what was going through his mind. Who would have ever thought that anyone could make him feel like this and not once did he ever even think about purification? He was honestly just so interested in everything about Grey that he had completely forgotten about it. His only thoughts were how he could get close to him. What ways could he use to make him open up.

Sending the container was a stroke of genius. The fact that Grey reached out to him first made all the money he dropped on it worth it, hell, if he could have spent more and gotten better results he would have. But this was still good. He would fucking take it and be thankful. He really didn't think Grey would contact him directly but he expected some kind of reaction.

It was a lot better than he had expected. He half expected for Grey to scream at him and tell him to take it back but it looks like he didn't even bother since he probably learned that the container was already in his name. He laughed, he could just imagine Grey's shocked face. He wished he had seen it for himself.

If things kept going like this, perhaps he would get to see it for himself.

"Talen! What the fuck are you doing?"

Another Yang, Syn called to him from in front of the gate tent and yelled at him to help with the monsters that were coming. Talen frowned when he caught sight of Reo right behind Syn, holding his jacket and staring at Talen as if he were some kind of kicked puppy and Talen should comfort him. Syn, looked down at Reo and offered the comfort he apparently wanted and Talen turned away with a scowl.

Thank fuck Grey had purified him because just the thought of having Reo touch him made him want to kill something. Preferably the Yin but he held back since the others claimed they wanted to play with him. At least until they were bored. He shook his head, he would have been one of them too... if he hadn't met Grey that night.

He shrugged, he definitely wasn't missing anything and didn't care what was going to happen to that Yin now that he had his sights set on the one he wanted. He sighed and made his way back over to the Gate and smirked. He couldn't wait to see Grey again.

"You should all retreat, I'm about to let loose. It's been a while."

He jumped into the Gate and others scrambled away as fast as they could as he laughed and let his power release and engulf the entire area and monsters in ice.

"Yeaaa.... maybe I can talk him in to giving me a little taste too."

  -----------------------

Grey stared at the phone for a bit after he ended the call and then turned to look at Meric who was smirking. It was pointless to have him give him some space since he would hear the conversation regardless anyway and he was borrowing his phone.

  "So, you gonna date Talen?"

Grey sighed and scrubbed his face with his hands and then sighed again.

"What kind of question is that?"

"He's S Rank, doesn't take a genius to know he'll hound you unless you do it."

  "Fucking great."

Meric just shrugged with a smile, "Let's head into your container and get you comfortable since you'll be here for a while."

They headed towards the container. The door at the far end was open and inside looked like something that had come from a movie he had once seen in his world. It was huge, like the inside was an entire house complete with two floors. Bedrooms and Bathrooms on the second floor, kitchen, living room and a Yin purification room set up on the first floor with a small bathroom.

  "What the fuck is this?"

"Didn't you already know?" Meric smirked.

Grey shook his head and stepped into the room and looked around.

  "How did this all fit?"

Meric shrugged, "It's someone's ability of expansion. We don't know how it works, it just does. You channel your energy into the gate stones, and then you get this. I forgot that the report did say you lost your memories, so I guess a lot of this is new to you,"

Grey just nodded and turned away using it as an excuse to look around.

"Damn, he really paid for the works. Mine doesn't even have a lot of this."

Meric was checking out the tv, yes, the very working tv and Grey walked into the the Purification room where Kit and Liz were sitting around and looking at their phones.

"I really should get this too, look how it adjusts and has different settings."

"I didn't even know they offered this as an option. We'll have to ask Grey-Oh perfect! Grey!"

Grey widened his eyes as both turned to look at him and stood and walked towards him, "Can you ask Talen which company he got that purification chair from, I want to add it to mine. It comes with everything!"

"Ugh... sure. I'll do that." Grey frowned but nodded and then walked over to the sofa in the corner.

  "Thanks!"

He smirked as he watched them poke around some more and pointed out things that Grey didn't even know he needed.

Then, Meric knocked on the door.

  "Grey, you got a Yang."

Grey nodded and motioned for the ladies to move while Meric lead the man who was panting and sweating into the chair.

"Ugh.. ha.. I'm Eric, I'm sorry... I need purification."

"Nah, just sit. Get comfortable and then when you're ready give me your hand."

Eric coughed and moved to the chair and leaned it back, then turned towards Grey and looked around and stared at Meric, Kit and Liz.

"We're staying so might as well just pretend we don't exist." Meric said as he stepped up behind Grey as if ready to crush him if he made any moves.

Eric's already pale and sweaty face drained what was left of his blood and I was sure he was about to pass out from fright.

Grey sighed and grabbed his hand and then focused on his energy. He didn't actually need to touch the kid for him to purify him but he was putting on a show so he lightly touched the other man's hand and closed his eyes.

You could be reading stolen content. Head to the original site for the genuine story.

Of course, he didn't even have to think much of what to do since he could just snap his fingers and the kid would be healed but instead he needed to make it come out slow and move just as slow as he had seen other C ranks.

  "mmmm"

The groan he heard from the man had his eyes snapping open but the man had covered his mouth was looking away. But Grey could see it, his legs were curled towards his stomach and his face and neck were both bright red.

Fuck, he was aroused. Grey frowned and glanced over his shoulder at Meric who was staring at Grey with heat in his eyes.

"Don't" Grey snapped and turned back to the man who was trying to contain his moans as Grey made the pace slightly faster.

Meric chuckled behind him and leaned down and talked against his ear. His breath fanning against his neck causing the hair to rise, "I can't help but be curious. You got 2 S ranks sniffing after you and lil C rank in the chair looks like hes about to bust and you have only been purfying for less than a minute. I've never seen anything like it. So I'm curious."

Grey growled, "I said don't, fucker."

"Yea, yea. I get it." Meric chuckled again but stepped back.

Grey pulled his hand away and waited until the man looked at him in confusion, "You're done so go to the bathroom and take care of yourself."

The man turned and impossible darker shade of red and nodded before jumping from the chair and heading towards the bathroom.

Kit and Liz stared at him for a moment before comforting him, "It does happen, a lot, unfortunately."

"Yea, i'm not upset or anything."

"Can I have a taste?" Meric chimed in.

  "You can fuck off."

"What a shame, I'm still on duty."

  "A shame indeed."

  "So can I?"

"Can you what?" Grey snarled and glared at him. Meric mock shivered and smiled, "Can I have a taste?"

"No. You cannot. Don't ask me again."

  "Seriously?"

  "Dead."

Meric tsked and turned away with his arm folded against his chest grumbling about stingy Yins.

  "Ah, two more are coming."

"What?" Grey snapped, he was frustrated dealing with Yangs. Meric held up his hands in surrender and pointed towards the door.

"You have two more heading this way, I can hear them."

"Ah." Grey said flatly finally understanding, he nodded and turned away. "Thanks."

  Meric just smirked "Sure."

Just then two Yangs stumbled in that seemed to be in a condition similar to Eric.

"Take a seat and when you both are ready, give me your hands."

"At the same time?" One asked in confusion.

"Yea, it's fine. It will be faster that way. And I can handle it."

Liz stood up and moved towards him, "But two could put a strain on you, you shouldn't push yourself since you're still new."

Grey was annoyed and just wanted to get this over with and go home, at this point he didn't care if people started to find it suspicious. He was already reaching his limit.

"It's fine. I can do it."

Liz nodded but chose to stand near Grey as if she could somehow help or maybe stop him if it looked bad.

The Yangs didn't seem to have any questions as they were too concerned about themselves to find it strange and reached out their hands to start right away.

Grey frowned and grasped both hands and then immediately began to purify them. But it seemed the faster he did it the more the Yangs moaned in pleasure. Even the woman was clenching her legs and biting her lips to stop the sounds from escaping. It seemed his healing had an affect on both women and men. He would have to do it slower, much slower and with less power it seemed if he wanted to avoid making people aroused.

  Fuck this is so tedious.

Grey finished up the healing and then sent them to the bathroom to take care of themselves. It seemed that would be the usual if he kept doing what he was. He would definitely have to fix it. He didn't want people to be addicted from the get go.

After the last two, Liz pushed Grey to the sofa and shoved chocolate in his face.

"Eat. You just did three purifications in a row and even did two at a time so, eat. You will need it or you'll feel drained."

Grey stared at the bar before taking it and opening it.

He didn't actually need it as he didn't even dent the energy he had and the only thing that was drained was his patience and mental stability. If anyone annoyed him, he would definitely blow a fuse, that's how close he was to snapping.

Did they have chocolate for restoring mental fatigue? He doubted it.

After experiencing the three aroused Yangs, Grey finally found the pace and amount he needed with each Yang so that they wouldn't get aroused and was able to send them off uneventfully. The problem was that he had to wait for when they needed healing because they were working constantly to detox the other Yangs.

Grey decided he would nap in between sessions and curled up on the sofa in the corner until the next one came.

But he sleep was proving difficult and turned his head and glared at Meric.

"I can feel you fucking staring at me, what is your issue? I'm not going to purify you, your rank is too high and it would kill me, so quit it already!"

"Right. That's how it should be... but"

  "But what?"

"Nothing. Go to sleep, cranky. I'll make some food in a bit so be nice to me, ok?"

  Haaaa

Grey scrunched his face and rolled over, closing his eyes and trying to steady his breath. Seriously, he was losing his mind with these Yangs. It just made it clear what type of person his friend was who wrote these characters personalities. He was clearly a pyschopath. Nothing else could explain it but him being a psychopath to create such deranged characters. He once again wished violence to his friend's face. Just one good punch.

Grey finally dozed off. Not because he was drained of energy but because he had tired himself thinking. If others knew that, they definitely would have been quite upset.

But he was still coming to terms with this world and this life. If he thought about, he was probably absolutely dead in his reality. He had been feeling terrible for a while and when he finally began to lose consciousness, he had felt relieved and...let go.

That didn't mean he was ready to accept this world as his own.

It defied all logic and everything he knew. He also now had to deal with actual monsters and human monsters that walked around in beautiful forms. This world was so much more dangerous and even himself.. he was way too overpowered for someone who didn't give a shit about this world. And from the story he had read, or should he say what he actually remembered, he wasn't really all that thrilled about 'saving' Yangs and the ones he encountered were driving him insane.

They were lucky he didn't just out right refuse or better yet.. they were lucky he didn't just kill them all. Not that he had ever killed anyone before but considering this world, he didn't think it would be that hard once he did it. A slippery slope. Seriously, though, they really kept pushing his buttons.

Sigh. They really didn't know what they were doing when they gave him all this power. He is totally the type to absolutely abuse it. Well.. only if they forced him to..anyway.

Grey woke to food slid in front of him and a smiling Yang.

"Wake up, princess. Your dinner is served." Meric mock bowed with a cheesy smile.

"Is it poisoned?" Grey twisted his face in disgust, but sniffed the air. It smelled good, at least.

"I'm trying to taste you, not kill you." Meric frowned and crossed his arms.

"So is that a yes or a no?"

"No. I didn't put anything other than the actual recipe ingredients in it. Happy?"

"Yes. I was going to make you take a bite first but you're a Yang so even if there were poison it wouldn't have an affect on you anyway so it would be pointless."

"Truly, I didn't poison it. I'm your bodyguard, remember?"

"Right, but for a bodyguard you sure keep acting like those you are supposed to be protecting me from."

  "Touché."

Grey held back a sigh and leaned forward and grabbed the fork. "It looks edible."

  "My cooking skills lack nothing."

"Hmmm... nothing is for free so what do you want? And don't say you want me to purify you, cause it's not happening."

  Meric coughed and looked away.

"Just eat. Just think of it as an apology for annoying you earlier."

"Sure. You all heard him right?"

"Yep, speaking of, where's mine?" Kit asked as she leaned over the sofa to look at the plate.

  "Go make your own."

  "Ha?"

"He's just messing with you. He already made ours, it's over there."

"Why you gotta be such an ass about it?" Kit grumbled as she walked to the counter to grab her own plate.

Just as Grey was about to take a bite-

"What the fuck is he doing here?" Meric practically growled as he pulled out his cell phone, his head snapping towards the front door.

"Who?" Liz asked as she walked up next to him.

"Kraven." Meric spat as he put the phone to his ear, walked towards the door and waitied for Jack to answer.

"What the hell were you thinking of sending that psychopath with Grey here? You know how he is!"

Grey put down his fork and looked at Liz who had gasped and put her hand to her mouth in shock.

"God damn. Yea.. this is not good." Kit frowned and looked toward Liz.

"What? What is the problem, who is it?"

"ahh." Liz looked at Kit and watched as Meric went outside and was yelling at Jack over the phone.

"S Rank Yang Hunter Jin Kraven. He likes pretty people but um... he also likes to hurt them." Liz said softly.

"Don't sugar coat that shit, that crazy bastard gets off on torturing pretty people! Do you know how many Yins he has left at death's door?"

"So a psychopath? Great. Just fucking great." Grey pressed his temples cursing his friend.

"Grey, you are too pretty. You cannot let that bastard see you. Like at all." Kit pointed at Grey and gestured outside.

"Well.. Meric is here. And I don't plan to deal with any more Yangs than I have to."

"Ahhhhh... fuck." Meric came walking back in with his face all scrunched up.

"So they sent a timebomb, huh?"

"Haaaa understatment. S ranks are crazy but even I think he's missing a few screws."

"So what's the deal. Why'd they send him?"

"Another Gate is about to open in this area and we need to get everyone healed right away so they will be able to take on this one since reinforcements are still out at other gates. It's rare but a double gate does happen some times. Anyway, he will be taking care of the detoxing so you just stay here out of sight."

Grey nodded and finally looked at his plate that had gone cold. Meric sighed and grabbed his plate and walked towards the kitchen. "But seriosly, Grey. Don't leave this container until we are ready to leave, and don't leave my sight. Got it?"

He popped the plate in the some sort of microwave looking thing but it made no noise and when it beeped it looked like it had been freshly cooked, not reheated.

"It has some kind of time ability, don't ask cause no one knows. It is enough to rewind its time and make it to how it was when I first served it to you." He shrugged.

He just picked up the fork and started eating. "It's good, Thanks Meric."

"Yea, yea. Stay where I can see you. I mean it."

Grey slashed his fingers in an X shape across his chest and held up his hands. "Scouts honor and cross my heart."

Meric just shook his head and plopped down on the sofa across from him.

"I'm going to sneak a peak at crazy and make sure he isn't doing anything weird." Kit said as she headed outside.

"Come back quickly. I don't want him doing something to you because you've argued with him again." Liz said shaking her head and covering her eyes with her hand.

"I'll bite his dick off! Just let him try!" Kit yelled and ran out the container.

"He sounds like a real charmer." Grey said sarcastically.

"Sigh. He is, that's the thing." Meric said frowning.

"No matter how many he leaves in tatters, he has Yins lining up to suck his dick. It defies logic."

Grey frowned but then nodded, "Nah, that follows the pattern. Humans are like that. Do you know how many people throw themselves at convicted serial killers? Tons. They KNOW they murdered people just like them and they still throw themselves at them. I think I heard it had to do with the thrill of danger. Some people just can't help themselves."

"At least we don't have to worry about you going to him, so he'll leave you alone." Liz said as she finished her plate.

"Yea, he at least sticks to that rule. He only fucks with people who throw themselves at him."

"Yea, no worries on that front." Grey nodded and leaned back, Liz picked up his plate and took it into the kitchen.

"Yea, you, I'm not worried about. It's him SEEING you that worries me." Meric said as he stared at Grey.

"Ah! You're right. We can't be sure. I mean, there hasn't been anyone like Grey before."

  "Right?" Meric nodded.

"Yea, oh dear. This isn't good."

"Can you two clue me in?"

"Grey. You're pretty." Liz said in a serious tone.

Grey raised his brows and looked at both like, duh.. and?

"No. Not just pretty. You are stunning. You glow. You take the breath from people when they look at you. You naturally draw the eye and the longer people look at you the more mesmerized they are." She continued.

Grey frowned and looked away, " I mean... thanks?"

"Yea, those are just facts. You are not a normal 'pretty person', you get it? He hasn't ever come across someone like you. There is no way he wouldn't be interested. And THAT is the problem." Meric added.

"So.... what you're trying to say is... that even though he usually sticks to his rule of only fucking with people who come on to him, if he saw me there is no way he would ignore me and would probably fuck with me?"

"Exactly. I like smart people." Meric nodded.

"That's right! So Grey, stay away from him for sure. We need to take all precautions."

"Ok, ok. I got it. I won't leave this container and I'll stay in Meric's sight."

"Hmm.. maybe I'll station myself out front and keep watch. I feel a little anxious."

"Liz, you don't need to do all that."

"This is for me just as much as you. I need to make sure you stay safe, ok!"

  "Sigh. Whatever floats your boat."

Liz walked towards the door and pulled out a chair and camped out by the door, Kit later joined her but since he was bored he curled back up on the sofa and decided to go back to sleep.

"Wake me if I need to purify."

"Roger." Meric answered and went back to watching the show on the tv.

  BOOOM!

The container shook and Grey rolled to the floor.

  "What the fuck was that?"

"That... was the new gate appearing."
