Dance of Dragons

-The well-defined, winged serpent slithered across the skies like a streak of lightning, bolting above the clouded cosmos. His pale silvery wingspan spans a quarter-mile from tip to tip with a maw large enough to swallow a small herd of elephants in a single bite. His orichalcum 4 claws & fore-fangs are taller than the base level of a holdfast, and his silver & black flames are hot enough to burn stone & steel into mounds of ash. His spiked tail swiveled to & fro behind the winged leviathan as he surged across the sky in pursuit of the chromatic comet’s compound. He spiraled around the rainbow remnant, changing its trajectory so that it might land on a more advantageous land mass. Once his will had been enacted upon the Rainbow Rocket, he barreled underneath it and spread his gargantuan, star-studded, black-webbed wings to decelerate. The satellite collided into the western Hills of Hadruin, and the Silver Drake hovered down into the impact crater before taking his human form (In a bulky black cloud of shrinking silver lightning).

  … … …

Gr?ycien Syndrolyc V’Lorum is a 432-year-old Dragonkin of the Sapphire Empire, the most powerful “mortal” Caster in 1,700 years (Known the 7 Planes over as the Wizard King), creator & wielder of the Tesseract, and the 4th Dragon in 5,000 years to achieve a Third Name. The overall naming systems of all Thrandish nations or cultures are uniform in four things: The first is that no child is named until they have survived for 3 Solar years. The second is that their First Names are chosen by them alone, as the identity represented is yours alone to bear. The third is that your Second Name is earned only through citizenship, once the youth become landholders, investors, contractors or socialites of their collective communities. The fourth is the Third Name, which is reserved for renowned Heroes or Kingsblood (i.e., those forever recorded via the Rainbow Records).

  … … …

In his humanoid form, Gr?y is taller than two meters, yet still shy of the 3 meters held by Orion and his ilk. He has the eyes of Abeloth and the hair of the Horse Lord (Braided) with streaks of black coursing through both in tandem. His eyebrows are equally gaudy and colored to complement his (Stubble-covered) chiseled jaw & cheekbones. He was more than handsome; he was pretty. Prettier than most women he’d encountered, but just as rugged and war-like as any other Thrandish males; mayhaps, most all of them.

  … … …

He is known for a great many victories over the centuries and at least one catastrophe, all of which have helped to shape the world we live in now. It is his past that spurred him to chase down the prismatic piece, in the hope that its power might undo that which otherwise cannot be undone. The Dragon Lord frowned for a moment as the polychromatic projectile had knocked over the Obelisk he’d steered its path towards.

  … … …

Obelisks are colossal spires, built by the World Builders (The Bridge Makers) in the Age of Rainbows, which destroy or transport threats to designated prison colonies of the late Rainbow Empire; the technology functions unto this very day, and unto this very day, none has ever returned from wherever they are ferried to by it. This Dragonkin, however, is of the Rainbow Blood and commands the Obelisks of the 7 Planes to function at his beck and call.

  “Olórí!”

This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings.

  He spoke the word command!

The broken pillar began to trace around its many runes & glyphs in an ethereal blue light. The fragmented stone slowly became whole again, and whispering a few more sorcerous words, the writings along the walls of the towering spire glowed true once more. The radiation enveloped the multicolored meteor and the Dragon Lord before winking out of existence with them both in tow. When the pair reappeared in the realms, they were on the other side of the Dragon Continent, far from any prying eyes whom may have tracked the path of the Rainbow Rocket. They’d been transported before another Obelisk and now stood in the center of a Rainbow Ring platform.

  … … …

Ring Platforms are binary ring devices that function via the “traveler” standing in between the two for a delayed period, causing fast travel over the relatively short distances between transmitter & receiver nodes.

  … … …

Gr?y knew that few could track him through the Obelisks, but that even fewer could track him through the Rainbow Rings network; and so he activated them and vanished, along with the celestial stone, to an even further inland location of the Empire’s wilds. He had made 32 trips through the Ring Net before his final destination. The many jumps had fractured the calcified icing of the comet, and cracked it open to reveal a polychromatic pearl that can only be beheld in the dead of night, lest you surely go blind from prolonged exposure (Save for a Star Dragon of course).

  … … …

There are 7 great dragon families that preside over every monarchy of Dragonkin across the 7 Planes. Each Ring, a new Dragon God is born to rule over the 7, but after the death of his beloved, Gr?y has refused the call and taken up a 420-year pilgrimage to untie the threads of fate.

  … … …

The Drake Bond was founded by the Mother Goddess when she became pregnant by the first Dragon King, in order for him to bind his line to hers. In turn, this birthed dragons with the minds of men and men with the blood of dragons; what’s more, the bond sired to their mutual species affected them on a far more intimate level as well. Man, beast, & beast-man, were now bound to one another, as well as to another of their respective opposite sexes. The spells which bound their genetics into one familial pool, now linked man & woman into sorcerous soulmates of the Dragon Bond.

“I swear by the old gods & the new, the sun has not yet set upon your story, Dear One!”

Gr?y stood up from where he’d crouched over the shining stone after covering it in several animal skins before burying it. He knew that to use the Ring Net again, mayhaps, would rouse further suspicion; and, instead, walked down a long, winding path to an Ancestral Well.

  … … …

The Ancestral Wells are large, and rarely small, pools or water wells, which are spelled to allow for transportation from well to well, via the hydro plumes formed during each activation.

  … … …

Gr?y began to walk across water and even turned back to eye the gravestone adjacent to the pristine pearl he’d buried.

“Tempos–Versus–Ibo wá Loka,” he yelled out.

The water all around him brightened and bubbled, before exploding like a geyser, swallowing the Dragon Lord into its aquatic mushroom cloud, before sinking back into the still water surface. As one geyser sank, another had risen from a mirroring Ancestral Well in the far west; and having also sunken into the seawater way, below him, Gr?y walked across the waves of the Broken Bay onto its stony shores.
