Chapter 72 Drako

“Sorry, Garren couldn’t make it, it seems you’re not a significant enough threat for him, but I was bored, so I thought what’s it matter if I murder the avatar of a false god?” Drako says shrugging his scaled shoulders.

Drako is adorned in a strange battle raiment. The torso is barely covered by straps seemingly made of leather leaving him mostly exposed. His lower half resembles what Mateo would know in his realm as a ‘kilt’. Making the large lizard god seem like he’s wearing a long skirt.

“You think you’re so clever, let’s see what power you still hold Drako, or perhaps your strength has faltered in your years of luxury among the gods?” The avatar questions.

“I assure you, no luxury has lessened my strength, not even fucking your mother,” Drako replies with a sly grimace.

“You speak ill of the Eternal Creator, I’ll have your scales as a table runner for that!” The avatar yells in a rage.

The avatar raises a hand and the sky once again fractures revealing the turmoil of another realm. The sky is a vision of starring down from above another realm. Demons battle on the ground beneath in a bloody conflict. The avatar raises another hand pulling a dozen or so demons from the realm and they fall from the sky slamming into thick mud before turning their gaze toward Drako with murderous intent. Drako laughs.

“You summon demons to combat me? Perhaps you are ill informed of who I am, I am Drako, I slay dragons and gods, your demons will wilt and die before me,” Drako says raising his claw.

The summoned scourge begins to contort violently. Their bones snap and fracture as their limbs twist into unsettling positions. Screaming like dying banshees they wither on the ground before being consumed by a flame so hot that it dries the mud beneath them. The avatar, seeming upset, closes the fracture in the sky and instead draws from a power within. His form grows to that of a titan, and a massive, spiked club appears in his hand.

“Fine, let’s see how you fare against a titan!” The avatar yells slamming the massive club down on Drako.

Drako raises his right hand extending his claws forward as the massive club bears down on him. When the club makes contact with his claw it shatters sending splintered wood raining down on the swamp.

“You, a fake god, think an avatar of limited power can defeat one who toppled the old gods? That’s cute,” Drako says the corner of his snout raised to reveal jagged teeth in a cynical smile.

“Die you fucking lizard mongrel!” The Avatar yells as he begins to glow.

Drako rises from the ground as if gravity is at his will. He raises his index and middle claw to his face closing his eyes.

“Obliteration, I cast the end of existence upon my foe that they know the torment of the void for eternity.”

Spell cast: Error, you cannot comprehend this spell or the immense power it exudes.

Color drains from the world leaving only shades of black and white. The screech of a thousand dying souls pierces the air and the hellbent and Mateo’s expedition fall to their knees holding their ears. Then, silence. A force far beyond recognition of the realm of mortals reaches through the void gripping the father’s avatar and pulls it screaming into oblivion. After a few moments of silence everyone returns to their feet. A portal opens and the hellbent charge toward it in defeat.

The stones resembling stone henge glow radiating a dark light before firing a beam into the atmosphere that refracts toward the Corelands.

“Godsdamnit!” A familiar voice beckons across the battlefield.

The avatar of Dios appears in all her seductive splendor. Her fingers clutched in anger as her brow furls.

“Fair moonrise to you too lady Dios,” Drako says with a bow.

“You fucking imbecile, do you know what you have done?” She demands, curiously chastising him in her humanoid form.

Drako rises stepping toward her with an outstretched claw.

  “May I?” He asks.

“Fine, but no one here will understand the sentiment,” Dios replies offering him her hand.

Drako runs a forked tongue over her hand, and she giggles her cheeks blush.

“It’s been a while Drako, I’ve almost forgotten what it’s like to be addressed by a dragon of the court, nonetheless, do you know what you have done here?”

“I obliterated an avatar of the father,” he replies.

“You have broken a seal,” she states angrily.

Mateo returns to his feet after being healed by his party and steps up to Drako joining their seemingly important exchange of words.

  “What’s a seal?” Mateo asks.

“My son Revelatio was sealed away after causing the corelands to descend and fracturing Terramundus, being a creature born of gods of two realms it, he, was born a realm walker himself, but he was feral, violent, hateful, and as much as I loved my poor child, he hated me and his father, so I gave a group of realm walkers, including Garren and Drako, the ability to seal him away, though I did not inform them that they were simply sealing him and not killing him, it can be hard to devour your spawn, no matter how despicable they are, a mother’s love and all,” Dios replies.

“I think you showed me a vision similar to this earlier, so what are we supposed to do now?” Mateo asks.

“Yes, and you have two choices in the matter, both of which will determine the fate and future of this realm,” Dios replies.

Main quest acquired: Travel to Daedalus and stop the second seal from being broken. Optional, break the second seal and continue on the quest to destroy or conquer the child of Dios.
