122. To Celebrate A Joyous Occasion

And oh, the very boughs of jolly must unfortunately have their final stroke.

  Indeed.

This is the very last chapter of this most special day.

And of the very same, would I like to say, that...

  Hmmm...

Well, I suppose it would be wise to speak of the chapter's occurrences first.

  Indeed.

  And thereof, I say...

Did the very young lad find himself well on his way towards his destination of choice...

One much further away from the very thing he sensed many a moment away from them.

  Yes...

A common idea even in the eyes of man.

Why, the lad was well versed in the arts of being a Knight.

And thereof, is protection one of the many trades that finds itself therewith.

  All the same, I say...

Is it most fortunate that they did all heed his warning.

Why, you and I shall have to see that later.

  All the same, I say...

Was the very young lad most alert even in their very travels as they did carry on...

  Fren: Shall this be enough?

That he did say, speaking of the very degree to which he had turned to the right.

And of the very same did the very lad, with a face more serious than ones the very Fren Chavalier had seen all the days of his life he'd known the lad, why...

  Did he nod.

  Indeed.

  Not a word from him.

All the same, did Fren Chavalier take this all in good stride, and thereof, did the man readjust his course...

Moving straight along the way as he always would.

And of the very same, did the young lad refuse to leave this position...

All the same, eyes up, and nose and ears at work...

  Waiting ever so patiently...

  Yes...

Even so, as Fren Chavalier did continue...

Before, indeed, he did finally allow his eyes and ears to rest.

  Indeed.

The very beast was no longer to come anywhere near them.

Those were the very meditations of the young lad's heart.

And thereof, were they in no grave danger any longer.

  Indeed.

Why, did Fren Chavalier take full note of this, as the young lad did return to his usual set of composure...

All the same, silent and calm...

However, all the same, keeping his ears to the surroundings...

  Yes...

Even so, did Fren Chavalier observe this and merely keep his mouth shut...

  Fully deciding to.

And of the very same, did the young lad return to his bedroom, ever so unceremoniously.

That is to say, that the very young lad had finally set it in his heart that there was nothing left to worry for.

  Indeed.

And of that, did Fren Chavalier soon begin to "bike" even faster...

  Yes...

A most certain acknowledgement of the fact that they were secure, surely...

However, and also, was his heart merely pumping faster...

The intensity of the situation, I would say.

For, truly, I say unto you, my dear reader, truly...

Does it find itself wise to merely fail to take note...

Of the fact that one as strong as the lad is cautious?

  Indeed.

All the same, did he continue to the very best of his abilities...

Why, did the very idea that he would soon require that he moved faster for the very loss of time they were to experience, I say...

It did not even for a very moment set itself unto his mind.

  Indeed.

And of the very same, I say...

Did the young lad simply stay in the bedroom...

  Silently waiting...

  For, indeed...

Even there, could he sense what they were soon to encounter...

And of the very same, did the very young lad soon after arise from the very bedroom...

  And thereof say...

  Jake: Halt!

  And thereof, indeed...

At the very pulling of the string, did the carriages' run soon after come to a closing, the very likes of which was set by Fren Chavalier, once more, coiling the carriages...

  So they all could converse.

  And upon opening their windows...

  Why...

Reginald: Is there something wrong, my good man?

And thereof, did the man by the name of Fren Chavalier simply say...

Fren: 'Tis the dear lad. He did say...

However, even so, before they all could make many a reply...

Did the young lad simply walk out of the door...

  Yes...

Opening it, and thereof, in their very shock and confusion...

  Fren: Dear lad!

Reginald: Good lad, what is wrong?

Nancy: Indeed. Is there yet another monster?

Florian as usual remained ever silent, all the while, as Madam Hathaway kept to herself.

  Indeed.

The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.

Even so, did the young lad say quite briefly...

Jake: There is a monster but a few moments from here.

And thereof, did he carry the converser at hand.

  Fren: Really? Where?

Why, did they all look to him with the very eyes of hope...

Only for the lad to say...

Jake: I shall chase it away, and on my return, we can go onwards.

  Indeed.

And of the very same, did he merely leap above them all...

Over the coil and into the wilderness.

  Indeed.

Leaving them all in shock, as, very quickly...

Did the lad simply run off.

  Indeed.

And thereof, did Fren Hathaway simply say, a bit loudly, I must add...

  Fren: Very well then.

Before he did tell them all, ...

Fren: We should close our windows.

  Reginald: Indeed.

  Yes...

And thereafter, did the young lad, asprint, chasing after the very thing he sensed...

  ...

  No, no...

'Twas not the very same beast he had sensed prior...

Why, was he most uninterested in that now, for he did fully know that that one was no longer any worry.

All the same, was the very beast in front of him now the very problem.

  For, indeed...

The very man did say that the carriage was safe from monsters...

  Yes...

The young lad could verily understand what that meant.

However, did the very lad properly prefer to avoid chances.

Most especially with the very beast in front of them.

  And all the same, why...

  Did the young lad race.

Through root and dust and even so, mud...

  Indeed.

  Did he race.

And thereof, was it not so long a time before he did indeed perceive it.

  Yes...

The very scent and sight of the herd of the very massive Iceman's Buffalo.

  Name: Iceman's Buffalo

Description: The very name does say it so. A beast well known for living in the sights of the colder parts of the mountains. All the same, is the very monster a furry one. Well dressed in furs from head to toe, to say nothing of its massive size. Why, the very beast is quite heavy, heavier than one would think, and even so, taller than most a man. All the same, I do imagine that you are aware of what a buffalo does look like, dear reader... Otherwise I should have to tell you of everything. And thereof, do I hope that that much makes the very most sense to you.

Behaviour: This very beast is one of those that does follow the very pattern that is a male leading a large number of females. Of the very same, even so, as the very beast is generally docile unless provoked, is the very male of a much greater violence, attacking anything that even dares to walk about in its vicinity.

Ability: This monster's very greatest strength lies in its very massive strength. The very sort of which it does take advantage of to simply ram into its foes... Reckless abandon as it does. Even so, does it hold about it a very thick muscular clothing of flesh. One that a gentle blow shall fail to sever, to say nothing of their incredible endurance. Why, one can chase a man far up an hill and down seven times over, all for the very sake of violence. Indeed. Why, are the beasts well adapted to living in the cold, and thereof, do they tend to be troublesome for those wizards who chose to practice ice magic and that only. A lesson for you, my dear reader. Indeed.

Threat level: Female D, Male C

Fact: The very man who did name it was an explorer. Fully dead, I would say. However, most remarkable is that he chose not to name the beast after himself. A strange man indeed. Why, most would, I say. Most would.

Moving along, did the very young lad waste no time here.

Why, he knew full well what his target was.

And of the very same, I say...

Did he simply calmly walk towards the herds...

Fully expecting one thing as he did walk about the females...

  The very ones who, indeed...

Did continue to graze without a bother.

And thereof, shall I have to say something about the Iceman's Buffalo.

  Indeed.

The very beast is a powerful one.

However, and even so, do the Knights give it respect somewhat, for...

  Indeed.

'Twas as the young lad walked across them all...

  Merely walking...

  Why, barely bothering to search...

  Indeed...

Did a loud sound come booming from beyond him.

  Yes...

  A wild bull Iceman's Buffalo.

  Indeed.

The very young lad did hear it quite well, I would say...

And of the very same, did he simply walk towards the animal...

Full knowing the very next occurrence.

For, the very beast is a prideful one.

Why, 'tis for this that the very Knights do pride in the beast...

For, it does indeed refuse, and thereof do I speak of the male...

To fight a battle alongside its females.

  Indeed.

A most prideful beast, I should say.

Why, is it also a testament to the females, to allow the male to stand to challenge for them.

  Yes...

However and even so, I do suppose you do understand as to why the very beast does indeed find itself as pride to the Knights.

  Yes...

The very odd booming roar from the male...

  Of it, why...

Did all the females turn a few feet away...

Each backing to the side, allowing the male a clear straight line to the opponent.

And of the very same, why...

Did it lead to the young lad.

  Indeed.

  A sheer straight line...

The very likes of which would lead to the young lad directly...

Fully allowing the beast to charge at the best of moments.

  Indeed.

  Hmmm...

Yes, I should also say, that the very beast does indeed live in the snow, however, in times of great thirst and or hunger, may it find itself at the bottom of the mountains...

  Grazing in herds...

  Indeed.

Even so, shall I carry onwards...

  Yes...

  Ahem...

The very beast did indeed lock eyes with the young lad.

All before striking the ground with its hoof...

  Snorting and roaring...

  ...

  Hmmm...

Perhaps 'twould be best to imagine a roar from the nose.

  ...

Yes, I do see as to why that would be hard to describe.

Why, I fail to imagine even a thing that does sound remotely like it.

  Yes.

  Not a thing.

  Well, moving along...

The very beast did ready its...

  ...

Oh, very well, do remind me to find a way to describe it.

  Truly, I say...

  Moving along...

  Ah, yes...

The very beast, eyes to the young lad, snorting and roaring...

  And the very young lad...

Why, his very hands had not even bothered to carry the converser with him.

Keeping it strapped up behind himself, and of the very same, why...

  Calmly waiting...

As the very beast did thereafter charge...

  Indeed.

  A straight line...

And thereof, a beast thundering towards him at a speed most humans would find impossible to match...

All the while, a thundering noise, ...

Well, I do suppose that you get the idea.

'Twould be odd if you did not.

All the same, did the young lad fail to even so leap or move...

  Nay...

The very young lad stayed put, remaining exactly where he would be.

  Merely placing his arms apart...

For he did indeed intend to grab the very beast's horns...

  Yes...

  The very massive horns...

  Hmmm...

Well, I do suppose that I did forget to describe them, yes...

The very Iceman's Buffalo does indeed have a pair...

Two massive ones, each longer than a human leg...

And each wide enough to fail to wrap one's hands around.

And thereof, each strong enough to poke holes into trees without difficulty.

  Yes...

The very beast is a fast and powerful one.

All the same, was it at this thunderous charge that the very beast did indeed find itself oh-so suddenly halted.

Well, not so suddenly, I would say...

Why, did the very beast indeed charge directly unto the young lad...

And thereof, did the young lad place his hands...

  One upon one horn...

  One upon the other...

Yes, both horns do point to either side of the beast...

I did forget to mention that as well.

  Yes...

All the same, did the beast with its very thunderous chase manage to rush into the lad...

  Crashing into him...

  Pushing him several steps backwards...

All the while, as the very lad's own hands managed to grab onto both horns...

And all the same, keep his body at a distance enough that its ramming would never strike true.

  Indeed.

Even so, was the very beast's push slowing...

  Yes...

The very young lad was simply far too strong to be so easily pushed around by the bull...

Even so, did it soon come to a standstill...

Following what was a trail of mud in the ground...

And a bull struggling to push the young lad further...

  Indeed.

But the lad would not budge.

However, did the beast have yet another plan.

  Yes...

The very beast would twist its neck, and thereof, attempt to shake the very lad off of him...

  Freeing his horns...

However, was the young lad yet once more, far too strong for such a thing to have any sort of effect on him.

  Hmmm...

Well, I do suppose that he did manage to budge the young lad ever so slightly with each pull...

  However, indeed...

Did the very lad hold it steady, even and so as it did struggle.

  Indeed.

  And thereof, I say...

My dear reader, that there remains yet another reason as to why...

  Hmmm...

  Perhaps later.

Even so, did the very young lad, having held onto it properly...

Did, with a most massive strike from his very head...

Smash his own head unto that of the very beast...

  Sending it to the ground...

And causing a massive sound of mud being swept away to ring upon the ears of all.

  Indeed.

  Hmmm...

Well, I do suppose that such a sound is not so massive.

However, 'twas as one such as you would expect.

  Indeed.

The young lad held his head back, and thereafter, with the very reckless abandon of the beast, leaping, did he smash his own head unto the beast's...

Firmly planting it into the ground...

And spraying them both with mud.

  Yes...

A most curious state to be in.

  ...

  A headbutt, you say?

Why, is that what your world calls it?

  Hmmm...

  Truly, I say...

  Most interesting...

Even so, did the very beast find itself defeated by this...

  "Headbutt"

  Indeed.

And thereof, did the young lad arise from this headbutting...

Is that correct, by the way?

  ...

  Of course, of course...

Learning new things everyday, I say...

And of the very same, why...

Did the young lad arise on two feet...

And for the very bull of them all...

  Why, did it also arise...

Nose and mouth full of mud, that it did promptly snort out, before quickly voicing a most painful retreat.

  Pride crushed, I would say.

Why, is there a thing that harms a man more?

  ...

  Indeed.

  There is a thing.

  However, this, I say...

  'Tis most painful to man...

  To lose his pride.

And of the very same, does the same rule follow even to wild beasts...

For indeed, amongst them too, are men.

And of this one, I say, even so, as it did retreat, calling the females to rush with it...

  They all following its steps...

  Fleeing...

Do I tell you that it is for this that the young lad did do this all.

  Indeed.

The very fastest way to get rid of them. 'Tis simple. Simply battle and defeat the leader, and thereof, well... You do understand...

  Hmmm...

Well, I do suppose that that is that.

It has been quite a set of tales, I would say.

Why, do tell me, my dear reader...

What has been the very best part of this most joyous occasion.

  ...

Well, to each their very own.

  ...

  Mine?

  Why, hmmm...

I shall simply keep that to myself.

  ...

  Unfair, you say...

Why, the very day is most special to me, I would say.

  Indeed.

  Even so, may I say...

Is it most as though one of the many birthdays that you humans do carry on with.

And all the same, would I also argue...

That this is a birthday of a sort.

  Indeed.

And as you humans do celebrate...

  Must I say, must I!

  Indeed.

  Must I also!

  Yes!

All the same, do keep well, my dear reader...

Everything happens at its own time and pace, I would say...

'Tis not always best to rush things...

All the same, 'tis rarely wise to do utterly nothing.

  Indeed.

  Wisdom, my dear reader, wisdom.

  Always use wisdom upon wisdom.

And thereof, must I say, a better day for you, my dear reader

And a proper birthday, for the book I do tell you of...

  Runaway!
