Who the princess is and what Melody wants

A light beams through the curtains as the 6 year old princess gets up lazily with a push from her hand before crashing back down into her pillow face down.

She screams about her reluctantly to get up before finally succumbing to the need to start the day.

After she's gotten herself situated she storms into her mother’s arms grinning ear to ear. The mother reciprocates with lots of morning kisses before placing the child onto her lap.

The mother asks about the princess’s sleep and the princess talks of her dream stating that she snuck out of the castle and went into a forest chasing a butterfly.

The mother lets out a hearty laugh before scolding the child playfully saying not to do that in real life. The princess pouts and asks why, which the mother responds that it is far too dangerous to do such things for the position the child holds within the kingdom. As a child should, the child just keeps on complaining as she sits on the lap of her personal throne with a joyful smile.

Later that day when an orange hue would cover the princess’s world, the princess’s mother pulls the princess aside with a regretful look. Her mother then looks her in the eyes with a gentle pat to her head, the mother’s smile as warm as the sun, she says that she'll be back soon and to not worry.

The princess wants to question her mother but does not because she knows when something is serious so the princess gives a small nod looking a bit teary eyed that her mother would be gone, which to her meant no more bed time stories.

After that she'd wait for days that turned to weeks, that turned to months and soon years. She hoped and prayed yet why wouldn't her mother come back? Did something happen? Why had her mother left her all alone?

Suddenly the girl could move again, the girl felt a tear run down her eyes as she stood alone with the bird in her hands.

Around her there was empty space with a cylinder-like shape to it with large metal pillars arched to the top connecting each other.

This story originates from a different website. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.

She felt as if she was in a church without a god. In her case a cage without her mother.

She had the key to her cage but chose not to open it out of fear of the truth, the reality of what most likely happened to her dear mother.

The girl reached up to her face feeling the unknown liquid that she had produced. The naked bird nestled itself into her hand as if trying to comfort her. The girl fell to her knees and began to cry.

The girl wept and her tears dripped into her world. The tears began to create puddles growing larger and larger until they formed rivers. The world began to rewrite itself as the dark lonely cage started to shake. The girl sat there and cried as the world around her reformed, it began to break.

As the world crumbled the girl began to slow down and regain her composure. The bird gently pecked at the girl with a soft look. The girl noticed and calmed down, she then hugged the bird.

After a while the girl got up and noticed that the world was no longer blank, it became an expanse of flowers that were blooming.

She took a deep breath which created the clouds.

she took a step which created the mountains.

she ran feeling the wind wrap around her feet as she did so which created the animals.

the world seemed to respond to her.

She was having fun playing around in the field of flowers as she chased a butterfly. She smiled brightly for what felt like forever since she had last and so the sun was made in her once dark world, finally there was some light.

The girl had opened her cage, now she felt as if she was healed, the girl jumped around cheerfully to notice that the bird was gone.

Where had the bird disappeared the girl thought to herself, then she looked up to see a feather fall down. The bird flew once more.

It seems that the story of regeneration that it spoke of was hers.

The girl laughed with the bird as they played for hours. Eventually the girl fell onto her back under the shade of a tree while the bird rested itself as well on the branch of the tree she had just laid under.

The bird finally asked the girl if she would like to know how to leave,

  The girl responded

“No… not yet, just a little longer please”

Should I continue this short story? (Maybe 5 more chapters around to talk about what happens when she gets out the book. Kinda like a true ending since parts of this story are unresolved.)
