Muuey casually pulled a chair in front of her and sat down.
The moment he took his seat directly before her, the shadowy mist that had been shrouding Fei slowly dispersed, fading into nothing.
Fei remained still, her eyes closed, her posture calm—almost relaxed.
Across the room, Alcy and Lara stood stiffly, tension written across their faces as they watched her. Her calmness only made the silence heavier.
Tables and chairs were hurled across the room, skidding and slamming into the back wall. Even the food left on the table was swept away by the surge, freezing solid the moment it struck the far side.
The temperature dropped rapidly.
Frost crept along the floor and walls like living veins of ice. Crystals began forming on Alcy’s shoulders and along Lara’s arms, forcing them to shiver as the cold wrapped around them.
Yet Muuey remained seated.
Untouched.
Unfazed.
He did not budge an inch, nor did a single trace of ice appear on his body. The only sign of the cold reaching him was beneath him—where the legs of his chair were slowly frosting over.
Then Muuey spoke calmly.
“Are you finished?”
“Tch!”
Fei shot to her feet the moment the words left Muuey’s mouth.
“You humiliated me!” she shouted, her voice echoing through the frozen room. “In front of one of the most powerful people in this damn city!”
Her icy aura surged again, frost crackling across the floor beneath her boots.
“Me—” she continued, fury burning in her eyes, “—the one known as the Ice Queen of Death!”
Lara and Alcy froze when they heard her words.
“No way…!” Lara gasped. “We went toe-to-toe with that powerful assassin!?”
If you come across this story on Amazon, it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.
“Even Luku is scared of the Ice Queen!” she added in disbelief. “No way!”
Alcy tried to keep himself composed, forcing his breathing to steady. But even he couldn’t hide the shock in his eyes.
Meanwhile, the icy aura pouring from Fei continued to intensify. The pressure in the room grew heavier, colder. Frost thickened across the floor, and the force of it slowly pushed both Lara and Alcy backward step by step as the freezing energy spread around them.
Despite the crushing cold pressing against him, Alcy couldn’t help but notice something strange.
Muuey hadn’t moved.
Not even a little.
While the sheer force of Fei’s icy aura pushed Alcy and Lara back step by step, Muuey remained seated exactly where he was. His posture didn’t bend, his clothes didn’t flutter, and his expression didn’t change.
It was as if the violent burst of freezing power simply… didn’t exist to him.
The only evidence that Fei’s power was affecting anything near him was the chair beneath him—the legs slowly frosting over as ice crept upward.
Alcy stared in disbelief.
What kind of monster is this guy…?
Then Muuey slowly reached toward the side pocket of his jacket.
The moment Fei saw the movement, her eyes widened in panic.
“Wait!” she blurted out, immediately cutting off the surge of her icy aura. The freezing pressure in the room vanished as quickly as it had come. “I’m sorry—I just—”
Before she could finish, Muuey calmly pulled his phone out of his pocket.
He raised it to his ear and made a short call.
“Bring Tatiana here.”
Then he ended the call.
Fei’s heart skipped when she heard the name.
Tatiana…?
Is he calling someone to torture me? she thought, panic tightening her chest.
“Please…” Fei spoke up quickly, her voice losing the sharp edge it had before. “I—I’m just frustrated with all of this. I—”
Now that Alcy and Lara knew who she really was, they could hardly believe what they were seeing.
The infamous Ice Queen of Death—the assassin feared even by people like Luku—was standing there, nervous… almost pleading.
Yet Muuey hadn’t raised his voice, hadn’t threatened her, hadn’t even stood up.
He was just sitting there.
Alcy and Lara exchanged stunned glances, both in silent awe at the way she was behaving toward him.
Muuey remained silent.
He didn’t respond. Didn’t even look particularly interested.
And somehow, that silence frightened her even more.
Then, once again, a brilliant white flash filled the private room.
Thunder cracked through the air as the same transporter appeared—light spilling across the walls before fading.
When the brightness cleared, two figures stood there.
The transporter sam… and beside him, a young girl.
Tatiana.
“I brought her, Master, as you requested,” Sam said, bowing slightly.
“Thank you, Sam,” Muuey replied calmly.
Tatiana’s eyes swept over the room, taking in everything, before finally resting on Muuey.
Before he could even give her instructions, she stepped forward. Her small hand reached out and touched Muuey’s left hand, her eyes closing as she focused.
“Leave it to me, Master,” she said softly but firmly. “I’m on it.”
Muuey gave a faint smile and gently patted Tatiana’s head.
Her face flushed pink at the gesture, then she quickly composed herself, letting her expression settle into a calm, focused state.
The room fell silent.
Fei, Alcy, and Lara all stayed completely still, their eyes fixed on Tatiana, knowing—they were about to witness another miracle.
And then it happened—a miracle.
In an instant, the room reverted, perfectly restored to how it had been when Muuey first arrived. Tables, chairs, even the shattered and frozen food—all returned as if nothing had ever happened.
Alcy, Lara, and Fei stood frozen, unable to believe their eyes.
Just who is this person…? Fei thought, her mind reeling.
And then—a flash of memory surged back from the earlier conversation with the Stones.
“The Reaper…”
Before she even realized it, the words escaped her lips.
“Ok, Master, I fixed the room just as your memory showed me,” Tatiana said softly.
Fei, Lara, and Alcy froze at her words, burying them deep in their minds: “fixed the room based on Muuey’s memories.”
As soon as she finished, Tatiana’s eyelids drooped, and she gently fell asleep.
Muuey caught her effortlessly in his arms, cradling her with care. He handed her back to the person who had brought her.
“Make sure she gets a treat, Sam,” Muuey said quietly.
“Of course, Master. We shall take our leave now,” Sam replied.
With a flash of light and the crack of thunder, they were gone—vanishing as suddenly as they had appeared.
Muuey sat back down, his calm presence filling the room. He looked at Fei, his gaze steady, and spoke.
“Sit.”
Fei sank into the seat immediately, her body tense.
Fear was evident in her eyes—sharp, icy, and unrelenting. She stayed perfectly still, every muscle tight, as if even the smallest movement might draw Muuey’s attention in the wrong way.
"Tatiana just restored the room using Muuey's memories! What does this tell us about Muuey's inner circle?"
