CHAPTER 182: | TRICKED
---
Then Triton repeated its actions yet again, but when it reappeared next to Alister, a searing claw had intercepted its head, then smashed it into the ground, as another pair of hands appeared at Alister's shoulder, and before Triton could react, it was directly pummeled into the ground, then smashed into the ground again, as all it could think from its shock was 'impossible?!!'
How could it be possible? To him Triton who possesses a far more superior form, a far more superior reservoir of mana, be intercepted by the likes of this monster?!! The impossibility echoed in its crystalline mind, repeating the shock like a fracture spreading.
Disbelief was all Triton could feel, Triton couldn't explain its situation, as it was pummeled to the ground, then smashed into the walls, before it was punched all over its body in a never-ending barrage that wouldn't allow it to use mana nor escape from its opponent's grip as Alister's repeatedly executed his zen repeatedly to disrupt Triton mana pathways. "THE FIRST ZEN OF DISTORTION: IRIECE STYLE: RIPPLE OF THE VAST MULTIVERSE."
While another pair of hands that phased in and out of reality held its head, as Alister sent a barrage into its already battered body in a beatdown without a care, and Triton, watching all of this happen, saw Alister's pupils bleed, but how could his eyes bleed when it isn't something special??
Unless his eyes possess a prophetic ability that allowed him to peer the future, maybe it's because of that... that it had lost this battle... or perhaps it was because it had lost its cool at his provocation earlier that it had been pummeled into this disgrace right now, Triton's regret was looping back again and again in a neverending cycle as he stared at the monster with confusion.
Triton couldn't understand it, it couldn't understand when it had made a mistake that brought it to this situation, so it simply stared as Alister pummeled its crystalline form with all of his might until cracks could be seen on its glorious form, until one of its hands was shattered like it wasn't something impressive, until only its head remained, as Alister continued to hold it in his astral hands' grip, while his four hands continued to pummel its face to oblivion, not giving it a chance to speak nor recover, and only when a small core remained of it did Alister spoke. "Huhuhu, it seems that my gauntlet's which is mercy couldn't grant you a salvation it seems?"
---
Triton, though shocked at how nonchalant Alister had become, remained silent. There was no need for it to speak to him. Its death was not an issue, this body was merely an avatar of its greater form, waiting in the depths of the earth in the true world. So Triton simply stared at Alister, who had read its intent with keen interest.
“Huhuhu, you’re the silent type, huh? After being thoroughly humiliated by me you're this docile? Perhaps is your almighty self too esteemed to even entertain me?” Alister said coldly. His blood-red pupils narrowed into intense slits as he stared down at Triton’s core, arrogance evident in his gaze.
“Hahaha, arrogance? Too esteemed to deem you worthy? No. I remain silent only because it is the role of the defeated to stay silent before the victor! Galor!” Triton shouted. The entire cavern trembled at his wrath. The city on the surface collapsed as his mighty mana ran amok in rage. But Triton was not finished yet. “I am no coward monster!!!” Triton then stared at the monster through its field of perception, or perhaps it was called divine sense, as it continued its words. “For I am the true progenitor of the crystal race!!!”
Alister nodded at its words, then said coldly, “Why have you remained silent at your defeat? If it isn’t conceitedness, if you’re already planning to rely on your true form to defeat me, then tell me what it is, if it isn’t conceitedness?”
Triton stared at the monster, then cackled with insanity alight with his voice. The mana of its clone true form, or the entire endless mine itself, spreading for thousands of miles without end, trembled violently. Its surroundings reduced to rubble as Triton spoke with amusement clear in its tone. “My silence is not a sign of conceit. I remained silent at this moment simply because you have honorably defeated me.”
Alister chuckled at its words, since it is indeed correct in its reasoning. Then he flicked his wrist. The astral hands that held Triton’s core tightened their grip to the point that it nearly shattered the core. As he burst into laughter, then stared at Triton seriously and said softly, “Huhuhu, indeed a loser has the right to remain silent, but has no right to demand anything from the winner. Still, I am curious. How come I defeated someone like you so easily, when you are far too powerful to be my opponent?”

Triton, feeling embarrassed at its loss, coughed in embarrassment and tried to divert the topic. “Ahem… I don’t have much time to remain here. Skaira shall find this clone soon. So tell me your questions, and I, Triton, shall entertain you.”
Alister chuckled in amusement that someone with such a lofty standing could be embarrassed at its lack of skill, that he was unskilled enought to be unable to defeat an opponent far weaker than itself, when its very existence was a cheat, a bug that no mere stage 1 could be ever hope to fight it.
Alister laughed softly as he pondered for a while. He too knew that the time of Triton’s clone in this dungeon had become too limited after it revealed its aura signature by fighting him. If the goddess Skaira found it, the chances of the clone being ejected from the dungeon or decimated into powder were a hundred percent.
For he knew that planting clones in a dungeon was a forbidden act. The will of the world understood better than anyone that letting powerful individuals monopolize resources such as dungeons could be dangerous to the balance of the world. Although Alister was ignorant of how Triton could plant a clone in the dungeon unnoticed under the will of the world, he was at least certain that he did not want to know the connection between this Skaira and the world will.
Becuase such a delicate matters were not for players as weak as himself to get involved to, at least for now. So he did not pry any further, because sooner or later he would learn how relevant that woman was to the world he currently inhabited, since fragments of her records could already be felt in this dungeon. Instead, he asked Triton a simpler question. “Huhuhu, indeed your time is limited. So I ask you, where can I find the Dragon Emperor?”
Triton, already predicting Alister’s question, smiled. “Hmm, so this is the tomb of the first Dragon Emperor, huh? Though I couldn’t be careless about it, based on the most powerful aura I felt in this dungeon during my stay…”
Triton stopped and smiled mischievously, then continued. “It’s no fun to tell you his location. You can locate him by yourself… though it may take years, since your mana reserves are far too pitiful. Or perhaps you may ask Izrael about it, though that’s impossible, since you need to kill him, and he is far too powerful at your current strength.”
Alister, displeased at Triton’s answer, put its core in his mouth and munched on it, then gulped it like it was candy. Despite Triton shouting, he burped, then took a [Void Step]-empowered step and vanished from the collapsing cavern in a jiffy as he snorted. “How intriguing… huhuhu, how dare a mere crystal play with me…”

Exalted Amethyst Demon [Passive | Ascension IV]
Triton reveals his true progenitor form—an exalted amethyst sovereign of living crystal, crowned with antler-like horns and vast refractive wings, his body composed of interlocking facets that bend light, mana, and reality itself. Existing as a living crystal law, he perceives intent and causality through resonance, enforces absolute dominion over all sentient crystal beings, and transmutes hostile mana and matter into inert crystal on contact. So long as a single facet remains, his form endlessly reconstructs itself, embodying the origin and authority of the sentient crystal race.
