Prelude to Ragnorock event

  Chapter 26

Wild golden flames burst up in front of the Central City Redemption Shop.

A few dungeon crawlers jumped back in surprise as Glenda and Titan appeared in front of the shop out of the golden flames.

Titan opened the bronze door of the shop for her. Glenda smiled at him and walked through the door.

The inside was slightly crowded. People froze at the sight of them.

Though Titan had to admit it was probably more at the sight of Glenda.

“Hey. Titan.” Rick called to Titan from behind the seller’s display desk.

Titan smiled at him walking over to Rick and slap his hand into a handshake.

“What’s up bro? Thanks again for the daggers. They are two twin beauties.” He said.

Rick chuckled and folded his arms across his chest. “What can I do for you? You looking for a job or an explosive boom stick.” He said.

Titan whistled. “I need armor and I would like you to check out something for me.”

Rick nodded. “I got you Young Blood. I got black leather rogue armor that can be the right fit for you. What do you need me to look at?” He said.

Glenda as she came to stand beside Titan.

Rick gave her respectful nod before he turned his attention to TItan waiting.

TItan reached for his Axiom Edge, summoned it to his hand and held it out to Rick. “My primary weapon got upgraded with phase energy.” He said.

Rick’s mouth formed an O shape as he stared at the short sword. He didn’t touch it. He let his hand hover over the blade.

“Level two. Raw energy. Hmm. Phase fire.” Rick said and attempted to touch the blade but his hand passed through it.

Rick snorted in laughter. “Imprressive. It doesn’t like to be touched by just anybody. Hmm. Congratulations. You, my friend, have a legendary rogue weapon. Luckily son of a bitch.“

Titan’s Axiom Edge disappeared. He put his hands on the display desk. He stared at Rick.”Legendary weapons are pretty valuable huh?”

Rick frowned but he nodded his head. “Pretty damn valuable. If I could get six legendaries or a single ranger bow, I could retire.”

Titan nodded. “Say I could my hands on one for you what would be willing to give me?” He asked.

Rick shook his head. “I could give anything worth the exchange. You would be doing a charity. I don’t do charity work and neither should you.” He said.

Titan shook his head. “Did you know I could beat the tower of Greed?” He asked.

Rick laughed. “Tower of Greed. I like that. Well. I had a little feeling you could have a high chance of beating it. I knew it would be fun for you at least.”

Titan nodded. “You gave me a good challenge and a lot of gold for my guild. Do you know a few more dungeons I can take on like the tower of greed?”

Rick stared at him. He nodded his head slowly. “Hmm. You want me to be your dungeon scouting agent?”

Titan nodded. “Yeah. I’m not a warrior. I’m in this gig for the money and steady pay of gold and happiness.”

Rick nodded his head. “You’re a government agent. Why are you worrying about money? You got a paycheck.” He said.

Titan shook his head. “I’m a rogue with a mortgage to pay off and my sister’s college fund to finance.”

Rick glanced at Glenda. “You plan on getting married huh?” He said.

  “Yes.” Titan calmly.

Glenda’s face was flush in embarrassment. She didn’t say anything.

Rick glared at him. “I fucking hate you.” He said.

Titan grinned. “We got a deal. I get you legendary items and you retire from this job and take me on as your only client. What do you say, OG?” He said.

Rick snorted, shaking his head. “Damn you're going to make me blush. Young Blood. I’m not all that. I’m just an old Rogue with twenty years of experience. No different.”

Titan shook his head. “I’m giving you a hell of deal here OG. You get legendary items I get your expertise in dungeon selection and I keep all the gold. It’s a win win. Why are you fighting your own greed on this?” He said.

The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.

Rick stared and laughed uproariously. He slapped the display desk. “Fucking hell. Young Blood. Let’s go. If you can give me five legendary items then you got me on your team.”

Titan shook hands with Rick and let go. “Alright show me the armor. I got a tab running with my Boss Commander Peter Kendrick.”

Rick’s brows rose. “Kendrick, huh?” He said.

Titan studied Rick’s expressionless face. “Yeah. Do you know him?” He asked.

“I’ve heard some things. Anyway. Let’s get down to business. Armor selection.”

Rick waved a hand behind himself. The back wall weapon display disappeared and was replaced with a display of body armor Mannequins. Brown leather armor, glittering armor and black leather armor.

Rick was already reaching for the black chest armor once he removes it the armor pieces disappear. He holds it out to Titan.

“It’s special type of armor that works best for Rogue classes.”

Titan grinned taking the chest armor. His body glowed for second and then his appearance changed.

A dark cloak with the hood up appeared on TItan. The dark armor leather armor was on him. Titan looked at the dark gloves on his hands.

Rick’s grin only spread across his face as he crossed his arms across his chest. “Now you look like a proper rogue. What do you think?”

Titan nodded looking down at himself. “I like it. I’ll take it.”

Rick nodded. “Right, you are Mr. Young. I’ll put it on Commander Kendrick’s tab. Oh to put away your armor just tap the chest and say put away.”

Titan grinned and tapped the chest issuing the command.

Titan to his training outfit Glenda gave him and felt something drop into his magic bag at his side of his utillity belt.

Titan frowned as he couldn’t remember grabbing it before he left his room this morning.

Glenda tapped his shoulder. He looked at her. Glenda was motioning to a man with brown messager bag that held out a black envelope to him.

“Yo. You, Titan Young? I got a message from Deacon Young.” The messager said.

Titan nodded, holding out his hand. “That’s me. Let me have it.”

The messenger held out a sign form. Titan signed it and took the envelope. He stared at the two words on the front.

  From Dad.

Titan slowly opened the envelope carefully and read the short message inside.

Hey son. I need you to buy a book called Generation of Weaponry and Defense magic. Head out the door, turn left and talk to Odin. Oh tell Glenda to burn this message. Take her out on a nice date. You know the place I took you to last year. She'll tell you about Ragnorock.

  Love you.

  Your Dad,

  Deacon Young

Titan read the message twice memorizing it and then handed it to Glenda. “Could you destroy this for me.”

Glenda took the letter and burned it in golden flames in her hand.

  Titan stared at her.

  Glenda raised an eyebrow. “What?”

“I’m going to marry you. Do you like diamond rings?”

Glenda’s face flushed with heat. “No. I prefer harmonic stones and expensive old books that hold a lot of power. I hate jewelry.” She said that last part in a meaningful pointed tone.

Titan chuckled and turned to Rick. The older man was shaking his head.

“OG. I need a book called Generation of Weaponry and Defense magic. I’ll pay you whatever price you want for it.”

Rick frowned but he nodded his head. He reached down into the display case and pulled out the book. “Here. It won’t do you any good. It works best for paladins, battle mages and Clerics types. No. No. Keep your gold. I’ll put it on Kendrick’s tab.”

Titan grinned, taking the leather black leather book. “I’ll get you the legendary items soon OG. I’m about to retire, you.” He said.

Rick laughed uproariously as Titan turned and followed him out of the Redemption Store.

Glenda said nothing as Titan turned left and almost ran into a giant man. Titan had to stretch his neck back to look up at the man.

Titan was surprised to see a youthful embarassed red face greet him. Odin was a tall Young man dressed in a gray hoodie and combat pants and brown boots.

Odin had blond hair the color of wheat and a pale boyish face. His eyes were aqua blue green. He frowned at Titan with a worried look like Titan was about to say something mean to him.

Titan smiled up at Odin and held out his hand. “Hello. I’m Titan Young. I'm a rogue. What’s your name?”

Odin blinked in surprise but he took TItan’s hand gently in his massive hand.

“Hello. I’m Odin Johnson. Have we met before?” He asked.

TItan smiled. “My father was Deacon Young. We look alike.” He said in a reassuring tone of voice.

Odin frowned. “Was?” He said in an uneasy voice.

Titan nodded letting go of Odin’s hand. “Yes. My father passed away recently. He told me about you though.”

Odin blinked away tears and he shook his head and sighed. “I’m sorry for your loss. Your father. Mr. Young let me work for him a bit in the summer before I graduated from dungeon crawler monastery."

“Monastary? Are you a monk? You seem pretty young.” Titan asked.

Odin grinned. “Yeah. I’m seventeen. Well part time monk right now. I had to go somewhere when my tribe disowned me for being a porter class.”

Titan frowned. “What’s a porter class?” He asked.

“I basically haul gear and treasure for a team. I’m a bag boy or butler. I came here because I heard there was a team looking for a porter. I can’t do anything else and I was kicked out of monastery. I don’t have any other skills or talent.” Odin said with a shrug.

Titan nodded. “I got you. How are you at making items or weapons with magic?” He asked.

Odin frowned, blinking in surprise. “I know how to make a dagger or a simple shield. It’s part of the trade of being a porter or backup support for a team.”

Titan nodded and held up the book. “Take this. My father thought you might find it helpful and he told me to pass it along to you.” He said.

Odin frowned but took the book and his eyes lite up at the title and he examined it closely. “Hey. This is a nice book. It looks expensive. Is this real leather? You said I could have this? I like books.” He said.

Titan grinned. “Yeah. My Dad liked you and he wanted you to have it. The more you can grow your skill in making weapons and growing your defensive magic the more valuable you can be. I got to go.” He said walking away quickly.

“Hey. Thank you Mr. Young. Thank you for the book and advice.” Odin called out.

Titan smiled and gave him a wave as he and Glenda quickly walked away.
