Chapter 32: From Heartbreak to Hunt

  A few days later—

We see Mayya’s apartment. Today, she looks unusually happy — because once again, she’s going out with Haarun.

Standing in front of the mirror in her bedroom, Mayya is trying on one outfit after another.

Her room looks like a battlefield — clothes scattered everywhere, some on the bed, some on the floor.

As she keeps changing outfits in front of the mirror, Mayya smiles softly and thinks to herself:— “Today, I’m going out with Haarun again.”

Just then, she sets down the dress in her hand to pick another one. Suddenly, her cheeks flush red, and she starts to blush. In her mind, she thinks:— “I never even realized it before… but it’s like we’re indirectly dating!”

As that thought crosses her mind, she gently picks up the very first outfit Haarun had given her and stands before the mirror again, looking at her reflection.

Mayya closed her eyes for a moment and thought to herself:— “I couldn’t say it on that first rainy day… I couldn’t say it on the school rooftop either… but this time…”

Mayya’s cheeks turn even redder. She slowly closes her eyes and thinks:— “No matter what… today I’ll tell him — Haarun, I’ve fallen in love with you.”

With that thought in her heart, Mayya puts on the outfit Haarun had once given her. Mayya hurried to the door and opened it — outside, Haarun was waiting for her. Seeing him, Mayya smiled softly and said:— “Good morning, Haarun…”

Haarun returned her smile, his voice cheerful and warm:— “Oh… good morning, Mayya! But you’re a little late today, aren’t you?”

Blushing slightly, Mayya replied in a gentle tone:— “Yeah, I’m a bit late… but you could’ve come inside if you wanted.”

Haarun chuckled softly and said in a kind voice:— “I didn’t think it would be right to enter your apartment without your permission.”

Then, stepping a little closer, he added in a calm yet tender tone:— “Besides… if I’d gone inside, I wouldn’t have had the chance to see how beautiful you look right now.”

Hearing such a romantic line from him, Mayya turned bright red. She covered her face with her hands and stammered shyly:— “Haarun, don’t say things like that, please… I’m not that beautiful.”

As soon as she said that, Haarun laughed, gently took her hand, and teased:— “Come on now, or we’ll end up spending the whole day right here.”

Seeing his playful smile, Mayya was a little surprised. She thought to herself:— “Haarun feels… different today. There’s something unusually romantic about the way he’s talking.”

When they stepped outside, Mayya noticed that Haarun’s car wasn’t there. Looking confused, she asked:— “Haarun, where’s your car?”

Haarun replied casually:— “I sent my driver back with it. I suddenly felt like walking today.”

Then, after thinking for a moment, he asked:— “So, tell me — where should we go first?”

Mayya paused to think. She looked up at the sky, then down at the ground, and even closed her eyes for a moment as if searching for the right place in her heart.

Seeing her think so deeply, Haarun looked slightly puzzled. With her eyes still closed, Mayya thought to herself:— “Where would be the perfect place… to tell him how I feel?”

A few seconds later, she opened her eyes and said softly:— “I think… we should go to the park.”

Haarun smirked and muttered under his breath:— “Took you that long just to say that! Good thing I didn’t ask what you want to eat — otherwise, we’d still be standing here by sunset.”

A short while later, the two of them arrived at a nearby park. The whole way there, Mayya didn’t say a single word — she just kept quietly blushing.

Seeing her like that, Haarun grew a little confused. It was clear from his face that he was worried about what was going on with Mayya.

When they reached the front of the park, they saw that the place was very calm and peaceful.

Soft sunlight rested on the green grass, a few children were playing — some on the swings, some climbing trees.

In the distance, an elderly couple was walking slowly, hand in hand. Seeing them, Mayya smiled softly — thinking to herself that she too wanted to grow old like that with Haarun.

Tall trees surrounded the place, the leaves rustling gently in the breeze, and birds sitting on branches.

There was an empty bench — half in sunlight, half in shade — almost as if it were waiting for someone.

Seeing this view, Mayya’s heart felt full. So she eagerly tried to lead Haarun inside the park. Just then, a luxury car drove past them. The moment Haarun saw it, he suddenly stopped.

The car went a little farther, then reversed back and stopped right in front of them. Both Mayya and Haarun stood there in surprise.

And right then, a girl stepped out of the car — and the moment she got out, she ran straight to Haarun and hugged him tightly. In a playful voice, she said:— “Haarun! It’s been so long since I last saw you!”

Seeing the girl, Mayya froze completely. A sudden fear filled her chest—she felt like something bad was about to happen. With a trembling voice, Mayya asked Haarun:— “H-Haarun… who is this girl?”

Hearing Mayya’s question, the girl let go of Haarun and replied in a bold, direct tone:— “Actually, that’s the question I should be asking. Who are you?”

As soon as the girl finished speaking, Haarun stepped between the two of them and said in a firm voice:— “Stop, both of you. Let me introduce you properly first.”

Then he turned to the girl and said in a calm tone:— “Lamees, this is my best friend. Her name is Mayya Shizqar.”

After that, Haarun looked at Mayya and said:— “Mayya, this is my childhood friend. Her name is Lamees Aev Jalezar.”

The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

The moment Haarun finished speaking, Lamees frowned and said in a slightly sulky voice:— “Just ‘friend’? Looks like you’re forgetting something. Remember this properly — there are only five years left.”

Hearing Lamees say that, Mayya became completely confused and asked in a shaky voice:— “What do you mean? What are you talking about? What’s going to happen after five years?”

As soon as Mayya finished speaking, Lamees laughed and wrapped her arm around Haarun’s:— “There are five years left until Haarun and I get married. Our families decided it when we were kids. So in five years, we’re getting married.”

The moment those words reached Mayya’s ears, it felt as if the ground disappeared beneath her feet.

It felt like she had just lost the most precious thing in her life. Tears slowly began to fill Mayya’s eyes.

She lowered her head, her lips trembling, but she couldn’t say anything. On the other side, Haarun looked visibly annoyed. He was trying to pull his arm away from Lamees’s hold.

After a moment of silence, Mayya finally spoke in a trembling, broken voice:— “I… I don’t think I should be here between you two.”

Saying that, Mayya slowly started walking away, but within a minute that walk turned into a run.

Haarun tried to stop her, but Mayya didn’t look back even once — she just kept running, trying to hold back her tears.

While running, she couldn’t control herself anymore — her tears wouldn’t stop. She reached her apartment, shut the door, and rushed straight into her bedroom.

She buried her face in the bed and cried loudly — as if every hope inside her had shattered into pieces.

Crying, Mayya said in a broken voice:— “I was the foolish one… Haarun only ever saw me as a friend, and I was the one dreaming about him.”

Then she covered her mouth and said again, her voice shaking:— “Why would a Royal ever love someone like me, a simple noble? I was the one who misunderstood my place…”

Just then, there was a sound at the door — someone was knocking. Mayya turned and saw Haarun standing there.

Haarun spoke in a hesitant tone:— “Sorry… for coming into your room like this. But what else could I do? You left the door open and you were crying.”

Hearing that, Mayya lowered her head again and cried even harder. Seeing her cry like that, Haarun slowly walked over and sat beside her.

But Mayya turned her face away, as if she couldn’t even look at him. Haarun asked softly:— “Mayya… What happened? Why are you crying like this?”

With wet eyes and a trembling voice, Mayya replied:— “You don’t understand anything… I tried so many times to tell you… but you never understood…”

Saying that, she suddenly grabbed Haarun by the collar and pulled him closer.

Resting her head on his chest, she cried and said:— “I could never say it before, but Haarun… I love you so much…”

Haarun didn’t say anything — he just listened quietly. The look in his eyes made it clear that he was finally starting to understand how deeply Mayya truly cared for him.

With a shaking voice, Mayya spoke again:— “Haarun… please… stay away from me. I can’t watch you with someone else…”

She paused for a few seconds, then breathed out painfully and said:— “Please… go far away from me… otherwise I won’t be able to live…”

As soon as Mayya finished speaking, Haarun gently placed his hand on her head and said in a soft voice:— “Hey silly girl… if you had stayed there just a little longer, you would’ve learned the real truth.”

Hearing that, Mayya stopped crying and slowly lifted her head to look at him. There was a faint, gentle smile on Haarun’s face.

A little earlier, right after Mayya left—

The moment Mayya ran off, Haarun quickly pushed Lamees away and said in a slightly angry tone:— “Lamees, why did you tell her that we’re getting married in five years? You know I don’t want to marry you.”

Hearing that, Lamees replied in a completely straightforward voice:— “I don’t want to marry you either. Honestly, I never thought of you that way. You’re just my childhood friend.”

Then she let out a long sigh and continued:— “But what can I do? Because of my father, I’m being forced to marry you. I don’t want this marriage to happen.”

As soon as Lamees finished speaking, Haarun hurriedly said:— “Stopping the marriage is my responsibility. I’ll figure something out.”

Saying this, Haarun immediately ran after Mayya. Haarun gently placed his hand on Mayya’s cheek and said in a soft, calm voice:— “I couldn’t understand what was in your heart… but now I understand what’s in mine very clearly.”

Mayya could see a strange tenderness on Haarun’s face — his words were melting something inside her.

Haarun continued speaking slowly, with emotion in his voice:— “Now I know for sure… I’ve fallen in love with you. Maybe it sounds sudden, but I don’t want to marry Lamees… I want to marry you.”

Hearing such a gentle confession, Mayya’s cheeks turned red. She lowered her head and softly said:— “But… What about the promise your father made?”

Haarun gave a small smile and replied:— “Don’t worry about that. Just know this—if it’s for you, I can fight the whole world.”

The moment those words reached Mayya, her eyes filled with tears again — but this time, they were tears of happiness.

She quickly hugged Haarun tightly. The room fell completely silent. It felt as if, from this very moment, their lives had begun again — fresh, and full of meaning.

  A few days later — 8:00 PM

Haarun was standing in that same park, as if waiting for someone. The park was empty — no people, no noise… only the cool sound of the wind moving through the trees.

After a while, a boy appeared. It was Rayn. Rayn walked over and asked in a calm voice:— “I hope I’m not late?”

Haarun replied straight away:— “No, you’re not late. We have to go now.”

The moment he said that, both of them started running. With a single leap, they landed on a rooftop — then another, and another — moving at high speed, almost as if racing with the wind. While running, Rayn said:— “So I heard you’re in a full-on dating phase now.”

Haarun laughed, answering in a cheerful tone:— “Yeah… honestly, it feels like I’m walking down a brand new path.”

Backstory ends here, Now — present time. Haarun is sitting on the sofa in Mayya’s apartment. His eyes slowly open — looks like he was remembering everything from the past few days.

Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Mayya is smiling softly while making a cake for Haarun. Around midnight, the next day.

Rayn, Haarun, and Sa’ut — all wearing their Bloodfang suits — are racing past the tall buildings of the city and heading toward a dark, dense forest.

The trees around them are huge and tightly packed, but they don’t seem able to slow the three of them down.

They move through the forest with unbelievable speed — as if they’re even faster than a bullet train. While running, Haarun spoke in a straightforward tone:— “Coming from Mayya’s apartment was a real struggle. I have to get back before she wakes up.”

Hearing that, Rayn teased him:— “Oh wow, Haarun! You two are getting pretty romantic, huh? Living together even before marriage!”

Haarun frowned slightly and replied, annoyed:— “Why are you taking the joke that far?”

Before Haarun could say anything else, Sa’ut spoke in a calm voice:— “We can talk about that later. I got a report — two more Bloodfang H2H are assigned to this mission with us.”

Hearing that, Haarun asked directly:— “What rank are they? And where are they now?”

Sa’ut replied in an even tone:— “They’re Rank A. But they’re above us in the roster, and one of them will be leading this mission.”

Then Sa’ut paused for a moment and added::— “They’re already inside the forest. Waiting for us a little ahead.”

As soon as Sa’ut finished speaking, all three of them went silent and increased their speed even more. Within minutes, they reached the spot where the other two were waiting.

Rayn, Haarun, and Sa’ut reached the two Bloodfang H2H operatives and saw that they were wearing the same type of suit — but unlike them, the two had no weapons.

The three approached and introduced themselves with their ranks. Rayn spoke in a calm voice:— “Hi… I’m Bloodfang WarBrain, Rank A-24579.”

Then Haarun said in a slightly playful tone:— “I’m Bloodfang Weapon, Rank A-24498. Hope it’ll be good working with you today.”

After that, Sa’ut spoke in a cold voice:— “I’m Bloodfang Hacker, Rank A-24877.”

The one who was going to lead them stepped forward and said in a steady tone:— “Good to meet you all. We need you for this mission.”

He was wearing a mask too, which made his voice deeper and heavier. He introduced himself calmly:— “I am Bloodfang H2H, Rank A-22467. And the one with me is Bloodfang H2H, Rank A-22901.”

Hearing their ranks, Rayn stepped forward politely and asked:— “If you don’t mind… may we know your names?”

The leader asked directly:— “Why do you want to know our names?”

Rayn replied in a calm voice:— “You two are both H2H Bloodfangs. We might end up in direct combat ahead. Knowing names makes coordination easier.”

The two fell silent for a moment and looked at each other. Then the leader finally said:— “Alright… My name is Nazar, and his name is Riyy.”

The moment they heard those names, Rayn, Haarun, and Sa’ut all reacted in shock, speaking loudly together:— “What?! Both of you are President’s Bloodfang?!”
