Hizashi No Kage
Chapter - 9
It was around 4:00 when all 40 children returned to the academy.
Now everyone had permission to do whatever they wanted, go anywhere, even outside the academy premises.
Akash thought of doing a lot of things, but then he suddenly remembered Bob. He immediately headed toward the Mage Students’ building.
Akash had just reached the Mage building and was searching for Bob when he saw Rocky coming from the front. Behind him walked his friends, and at the very end was Bob, carrying everyone’s bags.
Akash’s blood ran cold. He immediately understood—this was the same guy who had defeated Bob in the entrance exam.
Bullying! That was the word that came to Akash’s mind.
He walked straight up to Bob. When he got closer, he saw that Bob was badly injured—his face was completely swollen.
“What is all this? Did this guy do this to you?” Akash immediately healed Bob and asked.
Bob didn’t say anything. He just averted his eyes because he felt ashamed.
But right then, Rocky and his lackeys themselves explained everything.
What had happened was that Rocky’s gang had been troubling everyone in the class. When Bob opposed them, things escalated. In the end, it was decided that everything would be settled with a duel.
Bob didn’t back down. He knew he couldn’t win against Rocky, yet he still stepped into the duel.
After an intense match, Rocky emerged as the winner.
The condition of the duel had been: If Bob won, Rocky would stop troubling anyone. If Rocky won, Bob would become his slave.
“Now get lost from here. Bob is my slave now,” Rocky said to Akash, after telling everything.
Akash stood quietly for a few moments, processing the entire situation. He had heard that in such high-level academies, a formal duel was a very serious matter and even the academy couldn’t interfere.
After thinking for a bit, Akash asked Bob, “What’s Rocky’s level?”
“79,” Bob replied. “But what are you thinking?”
Akash took a long, deep breath, walked up to Rocky, stood firmly in front of him and said in a stern voice:
“My name is Akash. I’m from the Knight class. My level is 75. My magic type is Light. I challenge you to a duel.”
Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
Everyone was stunned.
Rocky laughed shamelessly and said, “And I refuse. I’m very tired today. Come tomorrow.”
“I’m also very tired. We had dungeon class today,” Akash replied.
“That rat ( Bob ) injured my hand badly. I won’t be able to fight properly right now—” Rocky tried to dodge again.
Akash instantly used a healing spell on Rocky, completely restoring him, then said, “Anything else?”
Rocky fell into thought for a moment.
Akash provoked him one last time:
“Does a 40-year-old man really need to think so much before fighting a boy who’s almost half his age? Can you only fight people who have type disadvantage against you?”
That hit home.
Rocky flew into a rage and shouted, “If you’re so eager to die, then come on!”
(It was a known rule that no punishment was given even if someone died in a duel.)
Everyone moved to the practice ground.
By the time the match was about to begin, a large crowd had gathered. Students from many classes came to watch a fight between a Knight student and a Mage student.
Zavier and Manjula also arrived. Ramya was sitting with them and explained the whole situation.
“This boy is crazy,” Zavier said.
A referee was chosen and the match began.
First, Rocky activated his Stone Skin skill. His entire body got covered in a rock armor.
Akash activated Light Shield Dome and cautiously advanced toward Rocky.
“Rock Slide!”- Rocky used the skill and rained stones down on Akash, but Akash’s shield protected him completely.
Immediately after, Rocky used an even more powerful skill.
“Big Rock Punch! (BRP)” Rocky shouted. A massive hand made of stone appeared in the air and flew toward Akash at full speed with a clenched fist.
Akash realized this attack could break his shield. He dodged and ran, but the stone fist kept chasing him. Akash was fast, but his troubles doubled when another stone fist appeared.
Now he was cornered. One hit, two hits—and on the third hit his shield shattered. Akash fell.
Then the fists rained down directly on him.
But Akash quickly rolled to the right to save himself, then made both his hands shine so brightly that even the spectators (along with Rocky) were momentarily blinded.
Everyone was dazzled except Manjula—she was watching the entire match without blinking.
Rocky’s BRP skill deactivated.
Taking the opening, Akash rushed toward him and prepared his Light Punch.
Light Punch — this was the skill Akash used when he couldn’t use Sword of Light.
The principle was similar: instead of enchanting a weapon with light magic, he enchanted his own fist.
With the intention of ending the match, Akash threw a full-power punch—but the damage recoiled on his own hand because Rocky was still in Stone Skin mode. (Rocky could use two skills at the same time.)
Akash’s plan failed. He immediately retreated.
Now Rocky’s eyes were wide open. He had complete confidence in his Stone Skin—it was the same skill that had defeated Bob.
Yelling, he charged at Akash.
Akash reactivated his shield, but Rocky shattered it with a single punch. The very next moment, Rocky’s fist landed on Akash.
Akash fell. His head spun.
Rocky immediately picked him up and punched him hard in the stomach. Blood came out of Akash’s mouth.
Akash tried to resist, but Rocky’s grip was too strong.
Akash prepared another Light Punch and countered Rocky’s punches—but nothing worked.
Now Rocky started enjoying it. To show off his power, he would punch Akash once, then let Akash punch him—then punch Akash again.
Obviously, Akash’s punches had no effect, while Rocky’s were making Akash bleed heavily.
Finally, Rocky delivered such a powerful blow to Akash’s head that he collapsed completely.
The referee started the count.
By five, Akash’s eyes still hadn’t opened.
Rocky began celebrating his victory.
6…… 7……
Akash, still on the ground, looked at everyone’s faces. Rocky was shouting. Bob’s face had wilted with fear. Everyone was laughing at Akash.
8…… 9……
Suddenly Akash’s gaze fell on Manjula, who was getting up to leave.
“Wait! Wait! Wait! Wait! Wait! Why didn’t anyone tell me Manjula is here too?” Akash thought to himself.
The very next moment, Akash stood up.
“Oye!!! Now you’re finished, pig! No one can defeat me in front of my WAIFU!” Akash roared.
The entire crowd fell silent. Manjula also stopped while leaving.
And then Akash’s whole body shone with such intense light that this time, even Manjula had to close her eyes.
All his wounds healed instantly and he charged toward Rocky.
Rocky realized Akash was about to do something dangerous. With eyes still closed, he activated Stone Wall skill. A massive, thick wall rose between them.
But Akash shattered the entire wall with a single punch and kept running.
Rocky prepared four BRPs and hurled them at Akash.
Akash dodged the first two with his speed, but couldn’t avoid the last two. So he prepared Light Punch on both hands and smashed those rock fists. He didn’t stop running.
Rocky could see his defeat coming.
“Double Stone Sk—” he shouted in panic, but before he could activate the skill, a devastating Light Punch landed squarely on his face.
He collapsed right there.
There was no need to count to 10—Rocky wasn’t getting up anytime soon.
Winner of the match — Akash!
At first the spectators were stunned.
Then they suddenly erupted!!!!!!!
