Forsaken Soul

  Chapter 48– Forsaken Soul

Yumin looked at Falcon with his eyes full of contempt. His eyes filled with a sense of curiosity and a bit of fear in it. The fact that he could anticipate Yumin’s reality frightened him. Yumin knew what he had to do, he had to get rid of him with the full extent of his powers.

“So that’s how it’s gonna be? Alright then.” Yumin sighed as he readied his tongue.

The General’s hand faced forward as he let out a single word— this word carried his will.

  “Kill Falcon Rea.”

The Nightmarish creatures that were created and divulged from this nightmare realm birthed from Yumin’s Soul Pact began diverting their attention to the King. The creatures rushed at Falcon, a swarm of these disgusting beasts lunged themselves at him.

chinnnnnmng! A slash of an invisible force decapitated and dissolved a mob of them!

Imaez gripped the hilt of his sword as he faced his blade towards the swarm.

“Lloyd.” Imaez’s eyes pointed towards Lloyd.

“Right..!” Lloyd positioned next to Imaez, holding his hands outward as he expanded the range of his domain.

  “Ready.”

Marie and Naomi dashed towards Falcon’s sides.

“Don’t forget about us, idiot.” Naomi smirked as he looked at Falcon.

“Yeah, my bad.” Falcon widely smiled as he created a great axe birthed from his Light.

A soft breeze blew through the ‘indomitable’ realm of Nightmares. A cutlass, birthed from this wind was made. Marie grabbed its hilt as she steadied into a lunging position.

  “Here…”

  “..we”

“Go!” The Deathslingers yelled in unison.

  …

Inside of the thirtieth floor, Aurelian sat inside the Lord Emperor’s office accompanied by Heraclius, Julius, Romulus, and Remus.

The room was silent for as the presence of the Lord Emperor was approaching. Soon enough, he had teleported inside of the room, as his back turned to everyone else in the room— he spoke.

“Julius. Major General of the Lavetonian Royal Army. Constituent of the ‘Soul Manipulation’ ability. My closest ally.” Wilhelm’s words were spoken with sternness as he slowly revealed himself to the room.

He turned his back fully, revealing Wilhelm’s dazzling appearance. His clothes perfectly fitting him, his hair suited him exactly. His face, clear and glowing. Everything about him was ideal.

  …

  But he indeed was sinister.

  Wilhelm spoke once more.

“Julius, do you remember what I commanded you to do in North City?”

  Julius replied. “Yes my Lord.”

  “What was the command?”

“The command was at the bleak of night, I were to murder every single citizen in order to meet the requirements to obtain demonhood.” Julius adjusted himself.

  “Transform.” Wilhelm spoke terrifyingly.

Julius stuttered— “T-t-transform?! I can only try-“ He was interrupted by Wilhelm’s horrifying deep voice.

“I said to transform. Do you want to face the wrath of God?”

Aurelian’s eyes widened as he repeated words in his head.

*Demonhood? So I wasn’t reading that wrong…there’s actual demons who exist! Just what the hell are you doing, Emperor? Who the hell are you?!* Aurelian’s teeth grit as his gaze met Wilhelm’s.

“Grand Strategist, is there an issue?” Wilhelm’s dominating presence overcame Aurelian.

  “No…not at all.”

Julius stepped forward into the center of the room. He took off his trenchcoat and dress shirt underneath, exposing his naked upper body. He flexed his entire body as veins began pulsating throughout his chest.

“MNNNNGHHH!” Julius restrained the screams he wanted to let out.

Julius’ chest soon turned a dark shade of red as a circular shape imprinted on it, ancient letters were engraved along the circle. A distortion was made on the shape as energy filled it.

bwwwmmmmpp! The circle summoned a drop of blood, floating in the air. Julius’ face was filled with exhaustion and pain, yet he persevered through it. He touched the drop with a finger— his body was consumed by this drop of blood.

The entire room fell silent as a dark, terrifying aura dominated the room. Wilhelm’s smile was wide. Aurelian was distraught. Romulus was expressionless. Heraclius’ nose flared a bit. And Remus, frowned.

A red mist appeared, it slowly cleared as Julius was revealed.

His face had dark outlines resembling lightning strikes along his cheeks. Beautiful black wings sprouted from his back as a horn came out of his forehead.

“This, my God, is a demon.” Julius kneeled in front of Wilhelm.

Wilhelm smiled manically as he gestured Romulus and Remus to come observe.

Remus’ lip quivered and his eye twitched as he went behind Julius. Romulus’ face still was neutral as he went behind Julius as well.

“You’ve done well, so well my protege. I’m happy, you’ve made me happy!” Wilhelm waved his hand upwards, gesturing Julius to raise.

  “Your role, is finished.”

  *Huh?*

Wilhelm pierced Julius’ chest as Romulus and Remus stabbed him in the back repeatedly with a pair of Soul nullifying blades.

  *Oh, that’s how it is..?*

He looked at his chest as watched as his blood dripped out, looking at Wilhelm’s face in disbelief.

“Why have you forsaken me? My god, my god!” Julius’ tears flowed down his chest.

He looked behind him, as he watched Romulus and Remus pierce him over and over and over!

  He looked at them sorrowfully.

  “Not you guys too…”
