Prologue

It was a quiet, clear night in the city; everybody sound asleep in anticipation for the next day. Except for one light shining through the window of an apartment. Inside, a man sat at computer, furiously typing away at the keyboard. After a brief moment the man stretches back, looking at the clock while rubbing his eyes, before staring back at his computer screen and resumes typing. "Almost done," the man says to himself, puffing on his cigarette. "Just a few more lines of code and I'll be done for the night."

The man after working hard, finally hits Enter on his keyboard, and leans back in his chair taking a few more breaths of his cigarette. "With this update, Tales of Epsilon will double in sales. NPCs that behave just like humans in terms of actions and emotions? It'll just add even more realism to the game."

The man admires his work, but then his screen starts to glitch and sparks start to come out of his keyboard. "Wait. W-What's going on?" He tries to use his keyboard but nothing happens. "No. No no no noooooooooooo!" A bright flash of green light engulfs the room; blinding any creature that so happened to be inside. The man's chair now sitting empty and his smoldering cigarette now laying on the floor. the title screen for Tales of Epsilon remaining on the man's computer. It sits there briefly, before it moves as if some invisible force was controlling the mouse and keyboard clicks Start Game.
