Chapter 84- Proving

  Tomb of Eternal Night

  It felt like his nose exploded as Jacob stumbled back from the three Vampires in front of him. Fucking dumbass traditions, but laws even ancient ones had to be honored. Taking the crown allowed anyone to challenge him a fight to the death one time for the crown, 5 minor Houses had stepped up in the challenge. Two of the challengers were already dead, that left 3 to kill. Jacob had been holding back the whole fight, biding his time but the last 3 challengers were faster and stronger than the last 2.

  Jacob slowly stalked to the left trying to keep his 3 opponents in front of him, the centermost Vampire was a true monster, nearly 7 feet tall and heavily muscled. He hit like a bulldozer but was slower because of all the muscle mass while his two companions were average at best. The big one suddenly rushed forward, Jacob waited until the last second before ducking under the giant's arms slashing his talons across his stomach causing the other Vampire to scream in pain and rage.

  Jacob dashed toward the other two Vampires aiming for the one on the right before switching targets and catching the other Vampire off-guard. Jacob slammed his fist into his opponent's ribs causing several to crack and driving the breath from his lungs. Jacobs opponent stumbled back but before Jacob could finish him off the other nearby Vampire bit into Jacob's neck. Jacob snarled and dug his thumbs into the Vampires eyes causing the other Vampire to scream in pain before Jacob ripped his skull apart.

  The huge Vampire grabbed Jacob by the arms and slammed him into the ground before punching Jacob in the back of the skull stunning him before kicking Jacob into the wall. Jacob groaned as he tried to get up, his whole body was sore and he had a Stunned De-Buff with a 10 second counter. The huge Vampire smirked and started strolling over to Jacob, "I heard a lot of talk about you, guess it was all talk." Jacob was picked up by his throat and thrown across the sand but before Jacob slammed into the wall he recovered and bounced off the wall and darting toward the wounded Vampire.

  The smaller Vampire turned and tried to run away but Jacob quickly caught him and started ripping limbs from the weaker Vampire. Jacob's last remaining opponent slammed into him, throwing him away from the dismembered smaller Vampire. Jacob snarled at the larger Vampire who smiled and rushed Jacob who acted like he was going to meet him head-on before he darted to the side slashing at the bigger Vampires thigh drawing a scream of pain. Jacob chuckled as he licked his talons while smiling at his opponent who snarled back at Jacob before rushing forward. Jacob laughed as he rushed to meet the other Vampire, reveling in the bloodshed and bloodlust he felt as he let himself go.

  15 minutes later Jacob stood over the corpse of the last challenger, bleeding and exhausted. The arena was ringed with the Dawn Guard and the Heart Guard who immediately surrounded Jacob and shuffled him out of the arena, the Nobility that had watched the spectacle were cheering. Jacob didn't know if it was because of the fight or because he had won. Jacob just knew he was exhausted and in desperate need of blood.

  "How are you doing?" Eiloma asked as she walked up with a goblet filled with blood. Jacob snatched it from her hand and immediately downed it with one go. One of the many palace servants immediately rushed up and refilled it. Jacob thanked them before turning back to the Seneschal.

  "Tired and exhausted, what do we need to do next?" Jacob asked the Seneschal as he looked at his pop-ups.

  "We are going to the throne room now for your official coronation, it is apparently tradition to do it after the Proving while still covered in your enemies blood, crude but effective," Eiloma said as Jacob finished his second goblet. Before Jacob could respond a portal opened and disgorged Cathrine and a squad of Deathwalkers. Cathrine immediately made a beeline for Jacob inspecting him for damage. Through their psychic link and body language, Jacob could tell she was pissed.

  "I survived my heart, I will heal and will be pretty for you again soon," Jacob told the Banshee.

  "This is not a joke. What happened?" Cathrine seethed with rage at both Jacob joking and what had happened to him.

  Having over 100 Vampires swear allegiance took a long time and with at least half thinking you didn't deserve it made the ceremony unbearable. In addition, Cathrine was still mad and had been left waiting during the whole time glaring at every single Vampire that had sworn allegiance to him. So 4 hours later, all the oaths of allegiance had been given and officially all the noble houses were behind him now.

  Jacob was trying to relax, but Cathrine was berating Jacob for failing to send for her as soon as Talia had died. She was pissed that she had not been there for him, but he was sure she was mad for other reasons. So he let her rant while he scrubbed the blood and guts off his body while he was distracted from her rant by the way her armor leather conformed to her body. "Jacob! I am angry at you, please stop thinking about how my ass looks in my armor!!" Cathrine had stopped pacing and was glaring at Jacob but was blushing as well.

  Jacob smirked before darting out of the bath and throwing his irate wife into the water and quickly following her back in. Cathrine came up sputtering before throwing a punch at Jacob who grabbed her fist and pulled her in for a hug and a kiss. "I am fine, next time I am set to inherit a throne of a country and the ruler kicks the bucket I will let you know ASAP." Jacob smiled at his' over worried wife, "Now I want to finish my bath and then get some food than sleep. It has been a long night and I need some rest."

  "I will have to head back to the Hallowed Tombs to inform them of what has happened," Cathrine responded as she moved away from Jacob and toward the edge of the bath.

  "I am getting married again in a couple days, you can't stay and go home after the wedding?" Jacob asked the Banshee.

  "No, and you two will need some alone time anyway. The Council of Nine will want me to report in person, I am sure you will be fine without me for a couple days." Cathrine responded causing Jacob to sigh and nod. "I will spend some time here with you before heading back."

  Jacob smiled at his wife, "Then get naked."

  "Do you know how difficult it is, to get out of leather armor that is soaking wet?" Cathrine asked through narrowed eyes. Jacob smiled and nodded at his wife before darting and picking up her laughing form and slinging her over his shoulder and immediately started stripping her armor off starting with her boots.

  Cathrine's body collapsed onto Jacob as she came down from her orgasm. Jacob smiled as he kissed her cheek, he started to move her off his body but she dug her nails into his arms. "No, I want to stay here for a moment." Jacob smiled and closed his arms around Cathrine's quivering body before kissing her neck. "Will you think less of me if I say I worry that you will love me less after you get married again?"

  Jacob froze before he grabbed Cathrine's hair and forcing his wife to look into his eyes that blazed red in anger, "Never! I love you, Cathrine, more then I thought I ever could. I belong to you just as much as you belong to me. My marriage to Sosa will not change that, understand?" Jacob asked the Banshee before kissing her deeply as he slowly started to pump his hips upward causing Cathrine to moan. Jacob smiled and rolled them both so he was on top before he bit her neck with no fangs and causing Cathrine to moan again. Jacob smiled as he left a hickey on his wife's neck.

  Cathrine grabbed Jacob's hair and yanked him back and eliciting a growl from him, "What was that for?" Cathrine asked as Jacob continued to slowly move his hips back and forth driving Cathrine to a slow orgasm.

  "Making sure you remember and letting anyone know who looks at you that you belong to me. Feel free to leave a love mark on me." Jacob told her as he drove his hips harder against Cathrine eliciting a squeal from her.

  Cathrine smiled and gasped before leaning forward and biting Jacobs' shoulder and bringing a smile to Jacobs' face as he increased his pace.

  Description: When you are on the edge of defeat and all hope is lost make your stand. Increases Armor Rating of all defenders by 10%, Increases Health Regeneration of all Defenders by 50%, Increases stamina and mana regeneration by 20% for 1 Minute (Can only be used during battle or siege within the lands claimed by the Tomb of Eternal Night, cooldown 24 Hours)
