Chapter 39

Demonstration of Power: The Night of Fools

Huang Di walked beneath a star-filled sky at around eight at night, after a day in which he had drawn a great deal of attention. Looking for an inn, he spotted what appeared to be a clash between two factions. As he approached, he recognized one of the figures: Sara, Mio Hio’s personal attendant, now wearing the gray robe of the Strong Steps Sect, adorned with customized details. Her golden hair, almost white beneath the glow of the lanterns, whipped in the wind as she and other members of the Mio family prepared to face a group of masked intruders.

The masked men, dressed in black, reminded Huang Di of people he had seen before, though he could not recall exactly where. Still, because he was disguised as a foreign elder, he kept walking, even with the tension thickening in the air, the kind that suggested a fight could break out at any moment.

Suddenly, one of the masked men took Huang Di’s presence near the confrontation as a provocation, insulted him, and lunged.

"This old fart’s about to learn what’s good for him!"

The voice belonged to a country-bred youth with obvious trouble speaking clearly. That detail meant nothing to Huang Di. The unprovoked attack gave him the perfect justification to intervene, and now no one could complain about a disparity in power.

When the young man charged, many laughed at the spectacle, but the masked leader was furious to have an idiot on his team. It was too late. Huang Di released his aura with ferocity, directing it exclusively at the masked group. Everyone, including the attacker, dropped to their knees, crushed by the oppressive pressure. He declared:

"A fool remains a fool even when a sage shines wisdom upon him. This one must be the greatest fool of all, since he can’t even recognize those who could grind him into a puddle of mud."

With a cold look, Huang Di increased the pressure on the attacker even further. Already subdued, the young man pressed his forehead to the ground and sobbed incoherent pleas, drawing secondhand embarrassment from those watching. But he wanted to live, and humiliation was a price he was willing to pay.

Huang Di then turned his gaze to the masked leader, who, despite being a fifth-level Earth Rank cultivator, could only bow slightly under the suffocating aura, his eyes wavering.

It was obvious: disciples of the Butchers Sect, disguised as mountain bandits, trying to intimidate the Mio family.

What Huang Di did not understand was Sara’s presence. As far as he knew, she should have been at the Strong Steps Sect, not back in the city. If she was here, then the possibility that Mio Hio was also here was high.

Noticing Huang Di’s brief hesitation, the masked leader attempted negotiation. Even with superior numbers, they knew they were facing at least a Rank Sky cultivator. If they attacked, their subordinates would die, and the blame would inevitably fall on them. In a respectful tone, he said:

"Honored Elder, please forgive this foolish junior. He didn’t know he was offending your noble presence. May I ask your esteemed name?"

Huang Di did not answer with words. He pressed his hand into the air, and a spiritual manifestation shaped like a hand appeared around the fool’s throat. In a fraction of a second, the man’s neck was crushed.

"Are you worthy of knowing my name?" he said coldly. "Take this fool with you, and do not dare cross my path again. If I see any of you again, the worst may happen."

With a flick of his hand, he tossed the corpse at the masked leader’s feet. Though rage was visible, the leader knew he could do nothing. They retrieved the body and withdrew quickly.

Huang Di then faced the other group. His presence made them tremble and stumble. The strongest among them was only a third-level Earth Rank cultivator, far below any meaningful threat.

Staring directly at the blonde in the middle of the group, he said:

"You, blond one. You must be Sara, Mio’s servant. Am I right?"

Everyone turned toward her. She looked visibly stunned. Trembling, she replied:

"Yes, Elder. What can this little one do to help you?"

Huang Di had always seen courage in Sara. But seeing her trembling now made him understand the impact of his display of power. He answered telepathically:

Stay calm. I am Huang Di’s master. He told me he found two talented young women who could become my disciples. One was you. The other was her. Do you know where I can find her?

Surprised but understanding the situation, Sara replied:

"Elder, young Lady Mio is at her home right now. But she, like me, is in a difficult position. Perhaps... perhaps we can’t become your disciples at this moment."

She said it aloud, and those present, still tense, felt embarrassed. Anyone would gladly accept an invitation from someone that powerful. But no one dared say that out loud, fearing they might offend the other side.

So they only muttered inside their own thoughts:

  She’s such a fool...

Huang Di’s Return: Salvation and Destruction

Unlike the others, Huang Di was satisfied, because Sara’s reaction revealed her loyal character and her fidelity to her master. Talent like that deserved to be cultivated. Along the path of cultivation, even if someone became powerful, a twisted or corrupt character could lead to betrayal for personal gain. If Sara had accepted immediately, it might have meant she was chasing benefits rather than a true master-disciple bond.

Huang Di then asked her to accompany him to an inn, since he had just returned from a long journey and wanted to rest. A place with a space for secluded meditation would be ideal. After taking her leave of the others, Sara promised to return quickly and guided him through the streets to a large hotel that occupied an entire city block.

  When they arrived, Sara explained:

"This is one of the main places. It’s safe, and the rooms have areas for cultivation and meditation. It belongs to the Boom Family, so you won’t be bothered by those masked men. Neither they nor their allies would dare make an enemy of the Boom Group. They have power inside and outside the city, with countless connections. The city carries their name, and the Mio family and others were subordinate to the Boom Group. But with the new administration, it seems they don’t care about us, because they don’t need us. We’re the ones who need them."

Sara then left Huang Di, still in disguise, hurrying back to help protect the family’s business. Watching her go, Huang Di entered the Boom Hotel and was received by the reception staff. When he heard the price of a room, he nearly stumbled, but he chose to rent it for a week anyway, paying fourteen perfect stones. He received the key, a formation carved into a stone, and as he decoded the runes, he realized he could adjust the length of his stay if necessary.

Entering the master suite, Huang Di found a luxurious room, with a round bed and red lighting, something unusual for a hotel. He quickly set a protective formation and climbed out through the window. Too late, he failed to notice a group of young women dressed in bunny outfits, fox costumes, and other fantasies waiting to enter his room.

Uneasy, Huang Di switched into his black armor, adopting a sinister presence, and followed the route Sara had taken. When he arrived, he found her fighting with few allies against the same masked men as before. The situation was desperate. A Lesser Rank Sky cultivator among the enemies was slaughtering without mercy.

The lewd leader ordered that the female disciples not be killed, only maimed at most. In the critical moment, a flash of light shook the air. Huang Di, now in his original appearance and wearing the mask he had created to match his black armor set, appeared between the two groups.

With a scorching gaze, he declared:

"Those who want a quick death, step forward. Those who prefer a slow and painful one, stay where you are."

Releasing his dragon aura, similar to Elder Claudio’s but without restraint, he struck the masked men with fury. The overwhelming pressure crushed them.

Those who advanced were cut down. Those who retreated were crushed by sheer spiritual pressure, bones breaking, dantians destroyed. Only four, including the Rank Sky cultivator and the three battalion leaders, managed to hold their ground. But Huang Di was resolved. Anyone who threatened those he deemed important would be erased.

Revelation and Recovery: Between Chaos and Intimacy

In the chaotic battlefield, Huang Di tested his new armor against the attackers. Blades emerged from his gauntlets and cleaved anyone who came close, while those who struck from range were hit by the skill A Sound as a Weapon, which launched slicing needles. They were not immediately fatal, but the damage persisted, forcing enemies to protect their vital points.

As their subordinates fell rapidly, the leaders recognized Huang Di’s armor as a Rank 6 set, a treasure none of them possessed. The most deranged elder of the Butchers Sect, sent to “handle” the Mio family’s problem, was forced to order a retreat. The city’s soldiers were about to arrive.

Though he wanted to pursue them, Huang Di chose to protect the wounded. With dozens of bodies on the ground, he reflected on the violence he had unleashed. He always tried to resolve conflicts with minimal impact, but the situation had demanded an unforgiving response.

Seeing how critical the injuries were, Huang Di regretted not having healing pills. Determined to help, he used twelve perfect stones to form a large healing rune. Speaking in an ancient language, he said:

"HASH OK DURU NET HAG KJOL DER LOTUS HEND CUNHO!"

A tremendous amount of energy surged out, and within seconds, everyone inside the formation watched their wounds knit closed before their eyes. Bones realigned, injuries vanished, and their energies felt renewed, some even on the verge of breaking through to the next rank.

After the healing, Huang Di told them to retreat to a safe place, saying he had done all he could. They thanked him and fled quickly, leaving Sara staring in disbelief. Without wasting time, Huang Di lifted her and leapt across rooftops until they reached the building she had shown him earlier.

When they reached Huang Di’s floor, they were startled to find several young women in revealing outfits waiting by the door. To avoid embarrassment, he used formation techniques to open a nearby door and brought Sara into a different room.

"You’re Elder Claudio yourself, aren’t you?" she asked, curious.

"What do you think of my master?" Huang Di answered cautiously. "Imposing, isn’t he? No. He’s someone else."

He avoided a direct answer, but Sara, sensing the similarity in the aura, continued pressing him.

As Huang Di began to remove his armor, Sara grew flustered. With a sharp, teasing smile, he reminded her of an intimate moment they had shared in the past, and her face burned with embarrassment.

"Why the embarrassment? I remember your face… so happy when you were peeking at me and Mio having fun inside the tent. I remember that when I rested for a while, she called you over to help her. I believe you put it in your mouth too, didn’t you, you naughty girl?"

Hearing that, Sara remembered that day when her mistress had forced her to please Huang Di. He had been blindfolded, so there was no way he could know it was her who was satisfying him, since the two of them took turns during the act.

'How did he know?' she thought, while he continued to undress, ending up wearing only his underwear.

She wanted to condemn him, but remembering the shameless things she herself had done with him, she realized she was in no position to judge. Noticing her discomfort, Huang Di took her by the arms and, within seconds, removed her clothes, leaving them both naked before the open window and the enormous moon in the sky.

In the blink of an eye, the two of them were in the bathtub, silently washing each other’s bodies. After a few minutes, Huang Di kissed her passionately, sealing her movements and leaving her with no reason to resist the moment.

They enjoyed themselves in the bath, exploring positions and caresses, until the rooster began to crow, marking the end of an intense night and the beginning of a new phase in their relationship.
