Chapter 92 — “At the Battleground, Truth Cuts Deeper Than Fame”

The battlefield was a graveyard of broken earth and scorched trees. Smoke curled in the air as Kakashi stood across from Yoru, both surrounded by soldiers too afraid to breathe loudly.

  Yoru smirked.

“Your world… it runs on fake fame and fake power. That’s all shinobi ever cared about.”

  Kakashi sighed, lifting his hitai-ate.

“You think fame is what built this village? Naruto, me… every one of us struggled to get here.

We weren’t born as legends. We were born without parents, without guidance, forced to mature before we even understood the world.”

  He clenched his fist.

“We protected everyone else because we knew what being abandoned felt like.”

Yoru slowly raised his hand, and the ground trembled.

Dead hands burst from the soil — reanimated creatures with hollow eyes.

  Kakashi’s face hardened.

(This jutsu… Orochimaru? No… if power is leaking out of Konoha, if stolen jutsu is spreading to outsiders, the Five Nations will collapse.)

  Yoru grinned.

“What’s wrong? The son of the White Fang should be used to monsters.”

  Kakashi froze.

The soldiers swallowed hard. Even the wind seemed to stop.

“How do you know about my father?” Kakashi’s voice dropped to a dangerous whisper.

  Yoru shrugged with a laugh.

“Your dad killed himself over something stupid.

And you? You let Rin die. You let Obito die.

You’re lucky Naruto took over — who would want you as Hokage?”

Karin landed beside Yoru, shaking her head.

“Well… I quit. You just unlocked the worst version of Kakashi-sensei.”

Her chains shot out, lifting her into the air as she fled the impact zone.

  Soldiers panicked and ran.

  Then—

  BOOM.

Boruto flew down, blue chains breaking apart undead bodies like glass.

“I’ve faced worse,” Boruto said, cracking his knuckles.

  Kakashi’s voice was ice.

“I have a daughter waiting for me at home.

But since you spoke about my father— you should die.”

  Yoru smirked.

“You mean the daughter you barely love? The one Yuta says you can’t accept? Rin and Obito would be disappointed—”

“Stop,” Kakashi growled. “Rin and Obito would want me to protect that child. Even if I don’t know how to love her yet… she’s still mine.”

  Yoru’s grin widened.

“Count your days, Hatake. I’ll tear your soul apart in this life.”

  Boruto stepped forward.

  “Why target Sumire?”

  Kakashi answered instead.

“Hand over Segawa… or the Shin Clan will never stop hunting her.”

  Boruto’s heart dropped.

  Sumire—

  And then Yoru vanished.

Kakashi panicked immediately and sprinted toward the village.

  Boruto followed, heart pounding.

Kakashi and Boruto crashed through the door—

  Sumire was peacefully sleeping.

Kakashi dropped to his knees, tears falling.

  “I… I thought I’d lose her…”

  Boruto hugged him from behind.

  “It’s okay, sensei. She’s safe.”

Shinki suddenly arrived with Sand shinobi, kneeling.

“I apologize on behalf of Sunagakure for allowing a dictator to rise within the Shin Clan.”

Kakashi slowly stood… and his aura changed.

  Shinki and Boruto both gulped.

“I’ll show the world why Minato-sensei chose me to guard Kushina when she was pregnant.”

  Eida’s Senrigan activated.

“So… they want Segawa. And they’ll keep stalking Kakashi until they get her. And Orochimaru’s old jutsu are being leaked…”

  Yuta replied calmly.

“It’s fine. Ryouta is assigned to protect Segawa. He’s Sasuke’s kid — she won’t die or get kidnapped.”

Ryouta suddenly dropped from the window.

  “That’s correct.”

  Hinata smiled.

  “You’re improving, kid.”

  Daemon leaned forward.

“Papa, who is Ryouta to me?”

  Yuta: “…call him Uncle.”

Daemon immediately launched himself at Ryouta — sending both of them flying out the window.

  Eida screamed, chasing them:

“I TOLD YOU TO CONTROL YOUR FLIGHT WHEN HUGGING PEOPLE!”

  Yuta sighed.

“At least we know who his favorite person is.”

  Himawari nodded.

“Yeah… I’ve never seen him hug Mom that hard.”

  Hinata puffed her cheeks.

“Hey! I’m still the top favorite.”

  Segawa laughed.

  “None of you have hope.”

  A glowing comet streaked downward—

Naruto leapt up in full Kurama Mode and caught it in midair.

It was Daemon wrapped around a terrified Ryouta.

  Naruto laughed.

“Ryouta! I thought you died too!”

  Ryouta blinked dizzily.

“Uncle Naruto… is this heaven? I saw God today…”

  Daemon beamed.

  “Was my speed fast?”

  Naruto laughed harder.

Eida landed and grabbed Daemon by the head, forcing him into a kneel.

  “APOLOGIZE RIGHT NOW!”

  Daemon: “SORRY!!”

  Sasuke appeared behind Naruto.

“I’m not surprised by Daemon’s nonsense anymore.”

  Naruto poked him.

“Well, I got here first. Point one for grandpa Naruto.”

Sasuke scoffed, grabbed Ryouta with one hand, placed him on his back—

  and vanished through space-time.
