The last priest spat blood and collapsed to the side.
Only then were the five siblings able to step out from beyond the red wall.
The floor was littered with the priests’ corpses.
The wall seemed to have been formed from their very life force.
It had been a death they chose themselves.
The five siblings rushed out of the temple and ran toward Heliopolis.
Finding its location was not difficult.
At the end of the red horizon where the sun was setting, a massive black cloud
was gathering.
They sprinted toward it with all their strength.
Meanwhile, Heliopolis had become a scene of utter chaos.
The great city was engulfed in an even greater darkness.
Countless people collapsed to the ground like fallen leaves, their souls torn
away.
The priesthood, rallied around the High Priest of the sun god Ra, fought a
desperate last stand at the Great Temple.
They unleashed light and sacred magic in an attempt to repel the enemy, but
Apophis was an irresistible calamity, like a surging tide within a storm.
One by one, the resisting priests were swallowed by the darkness and lost their
souls.
Wadji hovered in the sky like a black sun, endlessly pouring out darkness.
Looking down upon Heliopolis, he burst into shrill laughter.
In the old man’s voice, he mocked the priests below.
“The void and nothingness you so despised have come.
Do not beg for mercy or forgiveness you never once granted.
Wander through eternal darkness and wail like dogs!”
At that moment, a meteor-like flaming arrow flew toward him.
Wadji, his eyes glowing red, reached out with a cold expression.
From his hand, mist spiraled outward and collided with the arrow.

Boom!
Apophis neutralized the explosion, but a large portion of it was erased in
the impact.
“Part of it disappeared! Fire seems to work!”
But the problem was Apophis’s sheer size.
The monster had devoured so many people that it now seemed large enough to
cover the sky itself.
Eshiel threw his bow—snapped by that single attack—onto the ground.
He then poured all of his remaining flames into Bennu, which had begun to beat
its wings.
Bennu steadily grew larger, radiating blinding light and intense heat.
Ela, transformed into Liana, placed her hands directly on Eshiel’s back and
poured her power into him.
The enlarged Bennu scattered scorching flames as it beat its wings and rose
into the sky.
Hovering above Heliopolis, Bennu let out a mighty cry.
Dazzling light and searing heat spread in all directions.
Like shadows fleeing from the sun, Apophis gradually withered under the
light and heat.
Wadji watched the downpour of blazing radiance.
Floating through the air, he approached the five siblings.
They tensed, ready to attack at any moment.
Wadji’s face held an ambiguous expression, neither quite laughter nor tears, as
he spoke in the old man’s voice.
“Vengeance has been fulfilled.”
As he finished speaking, a mass of red mist began pouring from Wadji’s
mouth.
The mist gathered on the ground, coalescing into a human shape.
It was the old man.
He lay curled on the ground, as if asleep.
When Azael checked, he found that the man was already dead.
Despite having achieved his revenge, only a bitter emptiness lingered on his
face.
As Wadji began to lose consciousness, Eshiel caught him.
Apophis scattered in all directions and soon vanished completely.
When the darkness lifted, the setting sun could be seen sinking beyond the
horizon.
Yet even beneath that crimson twilight, the city lay wrapped in a silence as
deep as night.
