For the next two days everyone was resting from the hide and seek, none of them expected it to be that intense.

  During breakfast the old lady began to explain. “Seems like were getting to an end slowly…only one basic left until we come to the interesting part. The next and last basic is simply just a step more of soul energy control. You probably already noticed when you let out your energy you have problems to control it; you can let it out but having control over it is very important too.” Suddenly she lets out of her fingertip energy out, extremely accurate. Almost as it an extension of her finger.

  Velan seeing this he realized “So this is how Lorken defend my knife attack…”

  After eating Riven asked “Well this sounds nice but how do we learn this, I don’t think we are able to control it so well as you do!” The old woman looked at him saying. “Hehe…don’t worry I am a little older than you. But you’re not fully wrong, I already teach to control their soul energy for some other people and what I noticed was, most of them have easy times learning one thing, some difficulties learning another thing. Everyone has at least huge difficulties with learning one basic, you two had only some little obstacles learning the basics. So, if you ask me there is a high chance that you are maybe even need months to learn it. But this basic is very important! You can defend yourself with it, not just physical. It also can defend you from mental pressure. Or you just can be a lot more accurate.

  At first the two tried to control it, both had huge difficulties with it. Once the energy was going out, they lost control. Hours later the old lady came to look at the progress saying. “I didn’t expect something different, if you two would have been able to control it I would have really underestimated your talent…come on, you are going to learn it really now…”

  A little walk later and Riven complaining about why she had not shown them the right way to learn from beginning on, they arrived.

  The old woman brought them to a cliff with a pond at the ground. “Jump.” She spoke. “What?” Riven thought, she just repeats it. Veylan just goes to the edge, Riven worries saying. “You sure you want to do that, you do not even know how deep it is!”

  But Veylan jumped down, after a long time in the air he landed. Deep in the water he quickly felt that he did not suffer any injuries, besides that he remembered that he actually has gills and a fin underwater.

  Suddenly he feels something in his arm. A piranha.

  Realizing there a lot more coming towards him he quickly swam out of the water with just some minor bits, leaving the old woman Riven in little surprise. “Oh, oh…I did not know that. But you do not seem less surprised by him. In the Alecti exam he must got something that makes him swim faster…”

  She asked Riven now. “Why don’t you jump now?” Unlike the old woman or Veylan, he didn’t know about the piranha, unlike Veylan, he cannot escape that easily.

  After hesitating, he ultimately jumped, also as he landed, he felt pretty okay for something like this. Also, for him the piranha began to attack, his first instinct was just to let out his soul energy. The woman is seeing this thought. “Nice try but this does not work!” Very fast Riven realized this too. “Shit, what should I do. Why does letting my energy out doesn’t help? Hiding it makes me just even more attackable.” Some thoughts later and coursing the old woman in his thoughts he got it. “Hehe…this was your plan wasn’t it you old hag? You want to force us to use our energy as a shield!”

  The damage was not anything serios at all, but it definitely was not comfortable. “This is the dirty thing about those piranhas! Nothing serious actually happens it just pure pain.”

  Over time he stopped trying to get out of the pond. “It hurts so much…if I don’t protect myself firstly, I am not going to make it out, beside that I barely get some air…”

  At one moment the pain was so bad he even threw up; this was the point where it worked a little. He somehow managed to snuggle up his soul energy at the parts it hurts the most, the piranhas even began to almost destroy their teeth because of it.

  He made it out; after halving an hour of almost drowning and pain he made it out. The old woman went up to him asking. “You felt it, right?"

  But there was still a major problem, maybe he felt how it feels when he uses his soul energy as a shield but there is also needed to calculate in on the pain and the time. For a few minutes he barely held the shield, in exchange he almost drowned and all the pain for thirty minutes. Truth be told, this method is not really efficient. This realized the old woman too.

  Besides that, neither Veylan nor especially Riven do not like this method. Quite the opposite. Not only that the two needed a break and wanted little distance to her, but the old woman also needed to think about a new method. Truth is only the fewest who wanted to train until this point or even survived, so she barely ever thought about methods for this.

  The old woman Thought for a little. “They need the urge to defend themselves, this is how they are going to use their energy as a shield.   She walks up to them. “Riven. This was really way too extreme what happened down there, only the least made it to this training stage. It is also really hard for me to find a method…but I may be found something…” Not even she herself knew if this would work.

  Time later they arrived at their house. “What are we doing in there?” As she walks to the kitchen, the two follow her. Without any thoughts a knife just flies at them, barely dodging it. “How?” They had not much time standing around because the old woman started attacking them, in between knifes flew around even though no one threw them. The two ran out of the house, the old woman came out with flying knifes and objects around her. “HOW in the world? What does this have to do with soul energy? At this point this are just superpowers!”

  Even Veylan was perplexed. “There must be a trick behind it. Maybe some kind of item? What is this?”

  The old woman smiled lightly and warmly thinking “Maybe you are not in danger, maybe you do not get to feel indescribable pain, But maybe you fear a little my attacks even though they do not hurt so bad” And walked slowly towards them.
