Epi.14-1: Yuka’s Solo Camping

Near dusk, in the forest surrounding the abandoned house.

After Yuka and Sayuri, illuminated by a stand light, greeted the camera and made a commotion for a while, Yuka finally brought up the main topic.

  “Today, I’m going solo camping!”

Toward a stream with the two of them in it, natural questions were posted: “Solo?” “But there are two of you?”

“Sayuri-chan can’t touch things, and she doesn’t have any knowledge, so she’s just watching.

So it’s solo camping—I’m doing my best on my own!”

She puffed out her chest with confidence, but there were still some who were not convinced.

“For example, say you all went solo camping, and even though you couldn’t see it, a ‘camp-bound ghost’ was there with you—would that make it not solo camping? It wouldn’t, right?

  It’s the same thing.”

Faced with Yuka’s reasoning, the questions only increased.

  “Camp-bound ghost?”

“A word I’ve never heard before just showed up!”

“Like, bound to the camp or something?”

“What I’m trying to say is, if I do everything by myself, then it’s solo camping, right?!

The camp-bound ghost is just an example! It doesn’t matter!”

She deliberately pouted, sticking out her lips in a sulk.

  “Camp-bound ghost-chan…”

“You just made it up, and now you’re saying it doesn’t matter…”

Ignoring the voices worrying about the camp-bound ghost, the impatient Sayuri raised her voice.

  “Yuka-chan, let’s start the camp.”

  “Yeah!”

As if remembering their original purpose, Yuka switched her mood.

“So, what do you do at a camp?”

Sayuri tilted her head, looking puzzled.

  “Oh, starting from there?

Well, you cook and eat while surrounded by nature, enjoy when things don’t go smoothly, and feel that sense of freedom that comes from stepping out of the ordinary, which makes your tongue looser!”

Yuka emphasized her point with force, clenching her fist, and Sayuri watched her with anticipation.

From the viewers came a questioning comment: “Wasn’t there something weird at the end?” but

Yuka brushed it off, saying, “It’s fun, so that’s fine.”
