Chapter 4: Making a Mistake Pt1

Bella took a deep breath as she stood before her father's study, the nerves and trepidation freezing her in place. All she could think about was how, if this conversation went wrong, she would put herself at the mercy of her father's anger, which normally she would actively try to avoid.

Just when Bella was losing her nerve, the door was flung open, and Bella met the hard gaze of her father. "What do you want, girl? You have been setting off the wards for the past half hour and I am tired of it."

Forcing herself to remain calm, Bella began her practiced speech, "Me and some women have come up with what we feel could be a rather lucrative business venture, father I was wondering if you would listen to it I had to make the women promise to allow you first offer. Proper implementation of this venture could substantially cut your training time and costs."

Bella watched her father with a critical eye, trying to gauge his interest, just like she knew he was weighing her sincerity. After all, it had been about four years since she had dared to be helpful in his business matters. It was when he gave her a silent nod and stepped to the side, ushering her into the office. Stepping into the office, she took in the mahogany desk that her father was sitting at papers scattered about lazily as he pored over the ledger off to the right side of the desk. Remembering her father's insistence on proper etiquette, Bella gripped her skirts in a relaxed grip and made her way across the Kuria rug to the set of high-backed chairs that her father had placed for guest.
