Raioten stood in front of Lars' collage of images. He looked at all the images of different people until Lars spoke up.
Lars: There are plenty of strange disappearances here in town, but you're the first person I've seen notice.
Raioten: What?
Lars: I initially thought that everyone but me was a part of some freaky hive mind cult. You would think that with this many people going missing, someone would've brought it up a long time ago.
Raioten: Wait... how long have these incidents been happening?
Lars: I'm not sure. There are hardly any records of anyone who's gone missing. I only began to notice about two years ago. There was an older man working as a working at the Titan Diner across the street from the library. I saw him everyday after school when I ordered my usual. One day, I went up there and he was gone. He had never taken off a day that I had seen, but he never came back. I asked his coworkers and other customers, but nobody knew anything about him.
Raioten: Thats how everyone's been about Moira!
Lars: Moira?
Raioten: Yes! She was in my class and she disappeared.
Lars: What do you know about her specifically?
Raioten: Well... we went on a date but I never asked her about herself. None of the teachers knew anything about her either.
Lars: Damn, back to square one. There has to be some kind of connection between these disappearances, there has to be. We just need to know where to start looking. Hey! Meet me right after last period alright?
Raioten: Oh, yeah I'll be there.
Raioten and Lars both say through their remaining classes and met up leaving school.
Lars: Hey man, did you think of anywhere we could start the search?
Raioten: I'm not sure, maybe here at school?
Lars: Huh? Why here?
Raioten: I was just thinking that the school has to have some kind of records of Moira somewhere.
Lars: Ooooooh! We should break in tonight!
Raioten: Wait what? No! That's illegal!
Lars: Yeah. And?
Raioten: We can just look around or maybe ask the principal.
Lars: Wow you really are naive you know that?
Raioten: ??
Lars: If you were trying to hide something from me, and I asked you about it, would you tell me?
Raioten: Well no, but what if the principal is on our side?
Lara: Trust me, its better to assume he isn't. He could get rid of all of her records right after we ask. We need to keep our cards close to our chests.
Raioten: Oh, alright. But do we really have to break in?
Lars: Uh-yep! We're not going to hurt anyone or take anything, we just need to find out any information we can on your friend. This is the best lead we have right now.
Raioten: Ok, as long as we put everything back the way we found it. Let's do it.
Lars: Awesome! We'll come back when it's dark out, I'll text you.
Raioten went back home, anxious about his plans. He waited for Jugo to return so he could tell him all about Lars and their plan. When Raioten got hungry, he found a fridge full of food with a note from Jugo.
"Hey there kiddo, I'm going to miss dinner every now and then for awhile. I'm able to get some serious overtime because a few guys quit so I'm going to take advantage of it! Don't worry though, it won't be every single day. See you soon,

- Jugo"
Raioten felt terrible about Jugo working so much. Even though Jugo tried to hide it, Raioten could tell that money was scarce. He knew that if Jugo only had to take care of himself, he would've been fine. Even so, Raioten respected Jugo for not touching a penny of the relief funds they received. Jugo was very serious when it came to that money, telling Raioten that it was only to be used in dire circumstances.
As Raioten relaxed in the empty apartment, Lars begun his journey to the school. He hopped on his bike and sent Raioten a text, riding offinto the night. Lars was beyond excited to be working with Raioten. His excitement turned into pure confusion when he arrived at the school a few minutes later.
Raioten: Hey man, are you ready?
Lars: Wait, how did you get here? Did you leave really early or something?
Raioten: No, I jogged on over after you texted me.
Lars: Where do you live, right next door?
Raioten: The Honeytown apartments.
Lars: Dude I live way closer than you! And I rode a bike.
Raioten just shrugged his shoulders.
Raioten: Are you ready?
Lars: Let's do it. First thing's first: how are we getting in?
Raioten: Follow me.
Raioten led Lars to the south wing of the school. They could see flashing lights on inside the building, seemingly from phones or flashlights.
Raioten: Keep a lookout for me.
As Lars have a thumbs up and turned around, Raioten got to work.
Lars: *psst* dude! You're not gonna break any windows are y-
Lars turned around and Raioten was nowhere in sight.
Lars: Motherf-
As he looked up a bit, Raioten was leaning over an open window. Lars stood underneath, completely dumbfounded. Raioten reached out his hand and pulled Lars in. It was the first time Lars got a feel for Raioten's strength. Inside, Raioten motioned for Lars to stay down and explained how he got inside.
Raioten had went up to the roof after the two made their plans. He used a small, silver piece of tape to bypass the door's standard locking mechanism. All he had to do that night was climb up the building using the windowsills as footholds. Lars couldn't really believe Raioten, thinking that he just left the window open and climbed in.
Once inside the hallways, Lars took the lead position.
Lars: You do realize you couldn't have picked a building of this school further from the principals office right?
Raioten: Whatever man, I've been there like once. We got in didn't we?
Lars: Yeah you're right, I'm just busting your ba-
Raioten quickly grabbed Lars, covered his mouth, and dove into a classroom. Seeing his disproval, Raioten gave him a gesture to remain quiet. He pointed to the door and seconds later, one of the lights could be seen flickering just outside.
?: Wait, is there nobody here?
??: Let's check the next hallway down.
The boys sat in silence for a moment. When they felt the coast was clear, Lars had questions.
Lars: Ok what the heck ARE you? I'm starting to believe you actually did climb the building. Could you hear those guys or something? Because I didn't see any lights at first.
Raioten: No I just had a weird feeling they were there. Call it a hunch.
Lars: But you KNEW and that's really cool and-
Raioten: I'll explain some other time, let's go.
Lars reluctantly held off on his interrogation in favor of the mission. As they traveled towards the principals office, Raioten had to move Lars to safety a few more times. Lars was in awe of Raioten's uncanny ability.
Reaching the office, the boys wondered how to get in. Before they could think of a plan, Raioten took Lars into the nearest restroom. He pushed Lars into a stall and then hid in one himself. Learning to trust Raioten, Lars figured that he once again knew that something was off. The voices of two men got closer and closer. Raioten looked over the stall and could see light.
Raioten: Dude! Turn off your phone!
Lars: Sorry!
Lars locked his phone just before the men entered the bathroom. They slowly walked towards the stalls. The first man kicked opened the third stall and aimed his light inside.
?: There's nothing here.
??: But I could've sworn-
-bzzz-
The man checked his phone before searching the next stall. As he kicked open the stall that hid Lars inside, Raioten appeared out of nowhere.
?: Ha! Gotcha you li-
Raioten quickly knocked the two men unconscious.
Raioten: We need to hurry up and go.
Lars: Wait! How did you-
Raioten: The office!
Lars: Right!
When the boys arrived at the principal's office, they had to quickly devise a plan to enter.
Lars: The vent! I can try to get in through there!
Lars used a pair of scissors from the secretary's desk to open the air vent. Try as he might, he couldn't fit through.
Raioten: Watch out, you know you're not getting through there.
Lars: But are you going to be alright?
Raioten: I'll be fine. Just find a way to alert me if someone comes by.
Raioten hopped up into the air vent and began to shuffle along inside. Lars pretending he was wearing a watch and liked down at his wrist. After a moment, he sat down and got on his phone.
While Raioten was slowly crawling through the tight space, he noticed a small, red light shining through an adjacent vent. The light turned towards him as a small, metal drone crossed the corner. The red light flashed and the drone sped towards him. The small drone was equipped with many small blades. Being nearly immobilized by the small space, Raioten was incapable of escaping. As the device made contact, it used its whirring blades to attack.
Raioten: Quit! Ouch, that stings!
Raioten held his arm up to protect his face from the blades. He reached out his hand to grab the drone, immediately halting the blades with his strength. The drone thrashed about, trying to break his grip. Raioten decided to simply crush the drone and continue into the principal's office. Lars tossed his phone and laid down on the ground, pretending to snore.
Once he dropped in, Raioten took a cautious look around. After he didn't see anything suspicious, he walked towards the door to let Lars in. Glancing to his left, Raioten took note of odd colors standing out in a large bookshelf. When he reached down, he grabbed a smartphone.
Raioten: (Is this Moira's?)
