Routine

Being scared into compliance, Raioten returned to the team's shared room. Feeling guilty about what Raioten went through, Red decided to stay around him as much as possible. She vowed to stay by his side even when she was watching Tor.

He determination kept the two near each other more and more, which only resulted in more brawls between them. They fought constantly, spending more time locked in combat than anything else. Being a sore winner, Red made Raioten embarrassed about each and every loss he suffered.

It didn't help that she stayed by his side all day, taunting him all the while. Her taunting eventually wore down in Raioten's restraint, causing him to attack. They were locked in a vicious cycle of combat that neither could break. During one lunch, Kagura approached Red as she was eating.

Red: Oh hey, where have you been? I only see you in the gym, it's like you live there.

Kagura: Wait... is that against the rules or something?

Red: Do you actually live in there?

Kagura: Well yeah, this is the only other room that matters to me.

  Red: So you're crazy, gotcha.

Kagura: You could use more weightlifting yourself. Speaking of wimps, where's my little bro at today?

Red: Blue? He'll be around in a few minutes tops.

Kagura: Cool, I can't wait to lift with him some more.

Red suddenly leapt to the side out of her chair. Raioten slammed his foot down, completely destroying the chair she was sitting in.

  Kagura: Woah!

Red: You still suck at sneaking up on me. Bring it on!

As the pair began another round of combat, Kagura at back and watched.

Kagura: Dinner and a show, nice.

The other prisoners, who had gotten used to their fights, all went about their lives casually. The two totally destroyed any room they fought in. They smashed through everything, knocked each other through obstacles, and threw anything they could get their hands on. Kagura sat back, getting more and more upset at their match. Before the two could clash strikes, he grabbed Raioten and launched him like a bullet out of the cafeteria.

Red: Hey! Get out of the way!

Kagura: How about you make me? You two are being irresponsible with all your fighting.

Red could not ignore petty taunting and immediately rushed at Kagura. Kagura led with a massive right hook the she dodged. Red hit him back with two mean hooks. She was surprised that he remained mostly unfazed. Raioten rushed back over to see them.

Kagura: So you're a good bit stronger than he is. You two need to consider those around you when you get into these petty fights.

Raioten lowered his head as a psuedo apology.

  Red: We didnt... shut up!

Kagura: The least you could do is apologize.

Before Red could muster up a half-assed apology, Kagura grabbed her and Raioten's wrists. He began swinging around rapidly, holding the pair at the end of his reach.

  Kagura: For not including me!

Kagura roared as he launched the pair into opposite walls. They both were in awe at Kagura's physical might. As they stood on opposite sides of Kagura, he stood with a giant smile. Without a word, the pair united and ran towards Kagura.

  Kagura: Bring it on!

Kagura was completely overwhelmed by the two fighting him at once. His inhuman physical durability allowed him to stand strong, but Raioten's speed combined with Red's technique was too much for him. With a backfist, Kagura was able to catch a tired Raioten off guard. The power of his strike was enough to knock him out of the fight.

  Kagura: Your turn.

Red: Fuck, why won't you just drop already?

Both exhausted, the two fighters continued their match. Kagura's endurance was tested against the relentless striking of Red. With a powerful kick, she knocked Kagura down and fell over herself. Neither of them had the strength to stand.

Kagura: We'll call this one a draw, for now.

  Red: Whatever, I clearly won.

As Red rested, Raioten returned. She was worried that he would attack her and that she wouldn't be able to defend herself. He instead, extended out a hand to help her up. Raioten also helped Kagura up and the trio went back to the food line to eat a second dinner.

Kagura began to hang around the pair more and more often. Being the polar opposite of Raioten, Kagura's loud and rambunctious nature added a ton of energy to their everyday lives. He joined them in training, eating, and basically all but lived with them.

Kagura was also a big help with Tor. Red was hesitant to trust Kagura around the infant, but was pleasantly surprised at just how gentle he was. Having an extra hand with the infant freed up a ton of time for Red to finally relax. One day, the boys were spending time with Tor and found her knocked out at a cafeteria table.

Kagura: Sheesh, how long has it been since she's slept enough at night?

Raioten just shrugged his shoulders. Being locked in the bathroom, he never heard too much of Tor's late night crying. Unbeknownst to him however, Red was waking up all throughout the night trying to put Tor back to sleep. She hadn't slept properly since Marina began her brutal training. Her body, after many months of training and adoptive motherhood, finally gave out. Kagura lifted her gently from the table.

Kagura: You've got to be some kind of monster, to have fought like that. We'll settle our score whenever you get some actual rest.

Kagura took her back into the team room. As he put her in her bed, he had Raioten saw the Warden outside the door. Kagura's face lost its smile.

Warden: You three are getting really close. You do know that you're not teammates right? There will be a time when you have to fight, even kill each other.

Kagura took a rage fueled step forward, but Raioten put Tor in his hands and stood in front of him. Raioten shot the Warden a death glare, hoping to scare him off.

Warden: Oh don't worry, I disk cong here too antagonize you all. I actually came here to say that I'm trying to even out all of the teams. If you all would like, Kagura can officially become a member of this team.

Kagura: Wait, really? Are you serious?

Warden: I am, you all are free to make that decision.

Raioten was nervous, thinking that it could've been a trap.

  Red: Fuck that guy!

The boys turn to see Red still unconscious.

Kagura: Did that loser wake up just to insult me!

Warden: Hahaha! I take that to mean that you all are fine with the merger. If not, please speak up. There are other two man teams you could join no problem.

Kagura:. . . Bro, what do you think?

Raioten turned to the Warden and nodded.

Warden: Very well, you three are now a full team.

The Warden turned and walked out without another word. Kagura wrapped his free arm around Raioten and wrapped him up in a powerful hug.

  Kagura: WOOHOO we-

Raioten tried to cover Kagura's mouth, but wasn't quick enough. Red rose up like a zombie from her bed.

Kagura: Oh hey... I'm sorry, i was just excited.

Red took Tor from Kagura and laid him down in her bed. She then instantly turned and blitzed the boys. Her wrath was simply too much for either of them to defend. She left them both sprawled out on the floor of their room as she climbed back into bed.

Kagura: We'll never speak of, Ow, this again. Agreed?

  Raioten just nodded.

Kagura: Oh yeah... I'll never speak of this. I know you don't talk but, do you think we can actually get out of here? I love trying to imagine it all but I have no idea what's out there, or if I'll ever get to see it.

Raioten stuck out his fist and sat it on Kagura's chest.

Kagura: Yeah. It's just that sometimes I get stressed. What if I'm not strong enough to protect you guys? What if out there is even worse? It keeps me up sometimes just thinking about it.

Raioten struggled back to his feet and helped Kagura up. He motioned for Kagura to follow him. Kagura followed close behind the silent young boy.

  Kagura: Where are we going?

Raioten just kept walking forward. He led Kagura to a security door. He removed a key card that allowed him to walk through. Kagura stopped in his tracks.

  Kagura: Bro?! What is this?

Raioten still continued forward. Kagura nervously followed and was not disappointed. The Warden gave Raioten a key that led out to the track that lined the circumference of the second floor. His key was only available for use after hours.

Kagura: Woah, is this where you always-

Raioten motioned for Kagura to stop talking and to follow behind. He began to jog at a gentle pace. Kagura wanted to speak, but elected to relax in the moment. Kagura understood what Raioten was trying to explain. Raioten went off to the track every single night for hours to run and Kagura now knew why.

The stress he felt slowly faded as he relaxed him muscles and jogged forward. Raioten turned to Kagura and motioned for him to continue on his own. As he nodded, Kagura was stunned when Raioten blitzed off. He realized that Raioten had been practically walking to stay with Kagura and had enough.

Kagura continued on, waving every time Raioten sped by. The two ran together for hours. When it got really late, Raioten caught up to Kagura once more and they walked back to their room. Before heading to bed, Kagura gave Raioten a hug.

Kagura: Thanks bro, I needed that.

Kagura was shocked to see Raioten remain in the bathroom when they went to bed, but elected to not talk about it. He went to sleep with an eased mind for the first time in awhile.
