  Tyler didn’t expect much out of the day. He just wanted to get home, maybe eat pizza rolls, definitely not get run over by a big truck

  He landed hard. Somewhere else. A soft grass field, sky with 3 suns suns, smell of happiness.

  A girl was standing nearby, blinking at him like he was the weird one. “heyo” she said, “I was expecting, like, a magical power guy.”

  Her name was johnessa. Apparently, the world was ending. Also, Tyler had a power level so high it broke her scanner. She said that casually, like it wasn’t a problem.

  “Okay yeah but—maybe I was radioactive before?”

  “You vaporized a mountain by sneezing.”

  Tyler looked at his hands. “...Okay that one might be on me.”

  Training was awkward. He didn’t like swords. They felt weird in his hands. He preferred moba games and not dying.

  “Swing harder!” shouted some old dude named Robert. Tyler swung and accidentally summoned a bolt of lightning, and 100 fire people “...Okay what the hell.”

  Mia didn’t seem surprised anymore. She just handed him a towel. “You’re basically a walking bug in reality. Try not to blink aggressively near cities.”

  “Cool, thanks,” Tyler muttered, wiping his face. “I always wanted to be an existential threat.”
