Chapter 6: Awakening and Celebration

Time had passed in the blink of an eye. In that time, Lucien, Elysia, and I had trained together, studied together, played together, and even pulled pranks together. It felt good.

  It felt... better.

For the first time, I wasn’t alone. This life was different.

But tonight was important—Lucien’s Awakening was happening.

In Dominara, the path of power begins with a guaranteed five awakenings, but the journey beyond that is reserved for the truly exceptional.

  1st Class Awakening: Age 5

  2nd Class Awakening: Age 10

  3rd Class Awakening: Age 20

  4th Class Awakening: Age 30

  5th Class Awakening: Age 40

All people are guaranteed five awakenings in their lifetime, although the strength gained varies depending on their talent, effort, and comprehension. However, for most, this is the limit.

Awakening was a delicate, dangerous process.

On the eve of their fifth birthday, every child underwent their first Awakening.

It wasn’t a guarantee which class they awaken.

Will, luck, and deep desire determined the outcome.

When the process began, mana surged violently within the body. If not controlled properly, it could rupture mana veins, causing permanent damage—or worse.

That’s why an experienced guide was essential—to ensure the mana flowed safely, stabilizing the chaotic energy.

  Base Classes:

The first awakening always grants a base class—common paths like Warrior, Mage, Archer, or Priest.

But the future awakenings allow for specialization and growth. A Warrior could walk different paths—evolving into a Knight, Magic Swordsman, Martial Artist, or Spearman depending on their will and discipline.

  Class Evolution:

The direction of evolution is not random. It reflects one’s desires, efforts, and beliefs.

A Warrior who pursues pure strength and thrives in slaughter might evolve into a Berserker.

A Warrior who values strategy, honor, and technique may walk the path of a Knight.

A Mage obsessed with knowledge could become an Arcane Scholar or a Chrono Weaver.

By the 3rd Awakening, these paths refine even further becoming a Sword Master, Martial Master, Archmage, or Saint.

But beyond the 5th Awakening lies a realm that few ever reach—the 6th Awakening.

6th Class Awakening is not bound by age.

To awaken a sixth class, one must transcend their limits—not through time, but through complete understanding and mastery of their path.

A person who has harmonized with their class, refined their abilities, and embodied the essence of their power can shatter the boundaries of mortal potential and ascend to a higher realm.

  6th Awakening Individuals:

Their lifespan doubles, reaching up to 200 years.

Yet, in a world of 20 billion people, less than 20 individuals have achieved this and they are pinnacle of this world now.

These individuals are not just powerful—they are legends who dictate the fate of kingdoms and shape the course of history.

“Nobles often prepare for their awakening by consuming mana-nourishing elixirs, strengthening their veins to withstand the turbulent surge of power.”

So, I refused to let Lucien go through this alone. So, I asked my father to guide him.

Father initially wanted to refuse, but when he saw my serious expression, he sighed and agreed.

And so, at the stroke of midnight, we stood inside the Everhart training hall.

Lucien sat in the center, his small body trembling as a golden glow surrounded him.

  His awakening had begun.

Father stood beside him, speaking calmly.

“Focus. Feel the mana entering your body. Guide it like a river—do not resist it. Store it in your core, not your limbs.”

Lucien gritted his teeth, his silver eyes glowing faintly. Sweat dripped from his forehead.

“Lucien…” I murmured softly, my heart pounding.

His body trembled, the glow intensifying.

“Don’t force it.” I knelt beside him, my voice gentle but firm. “Let it flow naturally.”

The tension in his body eased. His breathing steadied.

  And then—

  BOOM!

A pulse of golden light erupted from Lucien’s body, flooding the room with warmth.

  His awakening was complete.

A system notification appeared in front of me.

  [System Notification]

[Lucien Hawthorne has successfully awakened his class.]

But before I could read further, I rushed to his side.

  “Lucien! Are you alright?”

Lucien opened his eyes, seeing my worried face. His lips parted—he wanted to answer.

But before he could speak, his eyes rolled back, and he collapsed.

  I panicked. “Dad! What happened?!”

Father caught him before he hit the ground. He placed a hand on Lucien’s forehead and smiled slightly.

“Don’t worry. He’s just exhausted. Awakening takes a toll on the body. He needs rest.”

I let out a relieved sigh. “Then… let’s take him back.”

As we carried Lucien to his room, I turned to Elysia. “Come with us.”

She shook her head, standing by Lucien’s bedside. “If he wakes up and needs something, I’ll be here to help.”

I smiled. “You really are dedicated.”

She just nodded, placing a cool cloth on his forehead.

That night, I finally let myself sleep.

When I woke up, the sun was already high in the sky.

  Today was Lucien’s fifth birthday.

“In noble families, awakenings were moments of pride, often marked with grand celebrations to showcase a child’s potential.”

I also wanted to do something special, not just for him, but for Mother and Father as well.

Back in my old life, I had a hobby—cooking.

I was a huge foodie, and since I lived alone, I had to learn how to cook myself.

Using that knowledge, I spent the entire afternoon in the kitchen, preparing something I had never seen in Dominara before.

  A birthday cake.

When evening came, I brought the cake out in front of everyone.

Lucien stared at it with wide eyes. “You… made this?”

I nodded, feeling a bit embarrassed.

  Elysia’s violet eyes sparkled. “It’s so beautiful…”

Mother and Father looked at me like I had just created a new world.

“This smell… This texture… How did you even think of this?” Father muttered.

I scratched my cheek. “I just… wanted to make something special.”

Lucien, getting emotional, grabbed the knife and cut the first piece.

Then, he turned to me. “Here, Rin. You have the first bite.”

I quickly shook my head. “No, no. Give it to your father first. This should be a memory for you.”

Lucien hesitated but eventually smiled. He walked up to Father and offered him the first bite.

Father took it, eyes widening as he chewed.

“…This is the best thing I’ve ever eaten.”

Mother covered her mouth. “It’s so soft and sweet…!”

Lucien and Elysia took their own bites and froze.

Then, without warning, tears welled up in Lucien’s eyes.

  “This… This is amazing, Rin…!”

Elysia nodded rapidly, her mouth still full.

  I turned away, feeling embarrassed.

Another month passed, and now, it was Elysia’s turn to awaken.

But this time, Father was too busy with work.

  I turned to Mother instead.

“Mom, can you help with Elysia’s awakening?”

She sighed. “I wish I could, dear, but I have urgent matters to handle as well.”

I narrowed my eyes and suddenly leaned forward kissing her cheek three times.

  She froze.

  “…Rin.”

“Hehe he, friends, don’t you think I’m a perfect son?” I whispered to myself.

Mother sighed deeply before rubbing my head. “…Fine. I’ll do it.”

Elysia covered her mouth, hiding her laughter.

  Elysia’s Awakening Night

That night, Elysia sat in the same training hall where Lucien had awakened.

Mother stood beside her, guiding her just like Father had done for Lucien.

A soft purple glow surrounded her, and the air trembled.

  She took slow, steady breaths.

  And then—

  A burst of golden light.

  A system notification appeared.

  [System Notification]

[Elysia Hawthorne has successfully awakened her class.]

When Elysia opened her eyes, she looked stronger.

Lucien, still recovering from his own awakening, smiled at her. “Congratulations, Elysia.”

She nodded and cutely puffed out her chest. “Of course. Did you think I would fail?”

We celebrated her birthday just like Lucien’s—with another cake I made.

When she cut the cake, she turned to me.

Then, without hesitation, she offered me the first bite.

  I blinked. “Are you sure?”

She nodded. “You’re the one who made this special for me.”

  I ate the first bite.

  Lucien pouted.

“You didn’t give me the first bite!” he whined.

Elysia smirked. “Because Rin is my best friend.”

[Quest Completed: A Bond of Eternal Service]

Lucien gasped in betrayal. “Rin! She’s bullying me!”

I watched them bicker like an old married couple and laughed to myself.

“They’d make a good couple… just like those Korean dramas.”
